    I've owned one of these for the past 7 months and all I can say is this vehicle is fantastic. I have a 6 month old and 2 dogs and this SUV is more than capable. We just brought the SX Prestige this week, site unseen. Supposed to get it by the end of the month. I’m disappointed that the only interior color options for the Glacial White Pearl are red or black. Our current 2020 Sportage is Snow white pearl with tan interior, which we love. Has anyone seen the SX Prestige in the Glacial White with all black interior? Do you think there may be more interior color options down the road? We love the exterior new look, but having second thoughts if we should go through with this deal for several reasons too numerus to mention.

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  Před 2 lety +2

      Hmmm... Well the Sportage definitely feels like a more substantial and premium vehicle. That being said, Seltos is probably a less controversial design and cost a good deal less. We might have to do a head-to-head comparison some time!

    Honest question (because I'm in the market). Do the engines in these last over time? The car looks amazing, but I'm seeing horror stories all over the internet about Kia's engines exploding or dying after 100,000 miles? My only concern with Kia's is their potential issues down the road. Anyone have experience with this?

    When you do these, you should let us know if they're selling at MSRP. And if you can't "technincally" say, just pan out to the monterey sticker and show us that markup up sticker.

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  Před 2 lety

      That's going to have to do with the number of them available in your area as well as your specific dealership. A couple months ago when we filmed this, it was marked up about $5,000 as one of the first units in the country

    • @rcairflr
      @rcairflr Před rokem

      It depends on your wants and needs. The Turbo will typically have less reliability. Turbos have additonal moving parts and create heat. But, the Hybrid will have more power and better fuel mileage. Personally, I went with the 2.5 L engine. I did a recent 1500 mile trip and got 28.3 MPG. I would expect the mileage to improve in summer when temperatures warm, summer gas blend.
      The car drove like a champ on the trip. Speed limits as high as 80 MPH. Really like it. Mine is the USA SX Prestige trim level.

    I just bought the hybrid SX Prestige in snow ❄️ white pearl w/ black interior. Had to locate and pay 2k dealer markup. It’s being delivered on 7/15.
    Originally they wanted 3k but they lowered upon request. Super nervous they will give it away as they said they didn’t need to charge my card the usual 1k deposit. We’ll see. Just to note I test drove the Cx50 Mazda and NX350 Lexus and still wanted the Kia.

    Yeah, you can forget about those MSRP prices. Dealers are charging sometimes 4000, 5000 and 6000 dollars over MSRP to buy one. Suggest to a dealer you'll buy at MSRP and they'll laugh you out of the dealership.

    This new Sportage model looks too big to be called "compact"; the previous model, yes, but not this one. This 2023 model should be in the medium-size category because it has grown in length and width quite a bit.

    The front end is a definite improvement from this last generation Sportages, but neither are as cool as the one that they started using in 2011. (I have a 2012 and love my Sportage!) Getting me to trade it in will be difficult. They need more options for AWD models than is being offered so far. Hate the tiny and only available in black wheels on the 2 top level models… Also, where the hell did the wonderful cargo tray go? I loved being able to store all my tools, scraper, gloves etc. under the cargo deck over the top of the spare. 😢
    A SX Prestige model with AWD would be great too.

    Why would I buy a normally aspirated Sportage approaching $35000. when I could buy the Tucson with the convenience package for the same. Can anyone beat the Mazda CX 5 AWD for $30000? But the real dealbreaker now for me on the Sportgage is the american assembly. Wait till the hybrid appears and it will very likely be built in Korea just like the Tucson hybrid.
