To put in some facts: The movie is based on the comics from James O'Barr who created it to cope with the death of his fiancee who got killed by a drunk driver. They got into a fight and later her called her and asked her to pick him up, and then she was killed on her way to him, he gave himself the fault for her death. Brandon and James became great friends while filming the movie, so he was devastated after Brandons death, the woman Eliza, who was mentioned in the credits was Brandons girlfriend whom he was friend too. Alex Proyas, the director, took some freedom from the comic books, but he kept the basic looks of the city, the grim noir looks and the character. The city in which the film is taking place is Detroid. Eric as the Crow has the ability of shadow melt, thats why he can dis- and reapear so suddenly like in the scene of the final gang shooting. The character in the graphic novel is much more grim, insane and self destructiv in contrast to the movie. His main ability is the immortality, but he can shift his powers. If you are watching closely, Erics outfit changes in the course of the film, he adds more and more tape strips, thats because he is cutting himself (in the comics), also he is loosing his healing powers if he uses his powers for other stuff, like driving out the morphine out of Darla. Wounds he receives without his powers remains, so he's taping them up. I'm glad they didn't portraied him as insane and twisted like in the comics. The person who accidentally killed Brandon Lee is Funboy (Michael Massee), who was traumatised for live after the event and got therapy but never really recovered. Lees stuntman, and the person who covered him up after his deplorable death, was Chad Stahelski, and yes thats the same guy who directed the John Wick movies. He was also the stuntman for Keanu Reeves in the Matrix movies. They become friends, and thats why Keanu stars in the John Wick movies. Every time we don't see Brandons face it's Chad (and a few move, they reconstructed Brandons face via CGI) Also, the guy who played T-Bird is Charlie the "Coroner" in the John Wick movies.
"Can't rain all the time..." I'm not going to talk about the tragic, accidental death of Brandon Lee. It's a complicated matter beyond the scope of this comment. Not wanting to dismiss his death, but I'm sure there are books and videos out there that can explain that tragedy and do it more justice. RIP Brandon Lee. Fun Fact: One of the ravens used in this film, Magic, was used in all of the following movies. Authentic Makeup Effect Fact: Alex Proyas said that Brandon Lee was unhappy with the way his face paint looked when the makeup department applied it to him before shooting. Lee and Proyas then agreed that it would look best if Lee applied his own makeup every night before going to bed so that when he woke up his face paint would naturally look more worn out. Art Through Adversity Fact: Director Alex Proyas originally wanted to shoot the entire movie in "black and white" closer to the comics and only used color in Draven's flashback scenes with a high contrast theme, but the studio executives didn't allow him to experiment with that approach. This made Proyas shoot much of the movie in a monochromatic color theme mixed with red and dark gray.
Yo man, some people are seriously sensitive about this movie 😎a lot more people will probably be watching this with the new one coming out 😎 make sure you do your research, before watching stuff 👍I myself saw this movie the day it came out, and a few more afterwards 😎I was 13 years old then, and it was the first movie I saw multiple times 👍 it's still in my top 10, and top 5 on the right day👍there was nothing ever made like this movie at the time, and it was HUGELY influential on culture and movies today 😎to a lot of people this is a very special movie, Brandon Lee died before it, and it was way ahead of it's time 👍just to save you a lot of hate later, realize movies sometimes mean a lot to people 👍

That was rude......it is obvious that the modern Batman and joker style was influenced by this movie....and the 1989 Batman had some influence by the Crow comics
I CAN TELL YOU EVERYONE THAT WORKED WITH BRANDON ON THIS MOVIE INCLUDING THE DIRECTOR ALONG WITH GOTHS AND TRUE FANS ARE SAYING THE NEW REBOOT IS TRASH AND NOT COMPARABLE TO THIS MOVIE, SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT. *I don’t care what so-called WOKE modern generation wants who don’t appreciate classics unless it fits they dang agenda of worldly crap being spread globally (if you know, you know) thats is all.
I got to tell you I don't know how to feel about the remake but I love the love love love love love love love this movie and the fourth one I think is almost as good the third one is also really good the second one I didn't really care for
Must have been crazy to see in the cinema and yes this is one of my last reactions like this they will be in the style of my ghostbusters reaction from now on :)
Devil's night used to be a thing in old Detroit. Lots of fires set the night before Halloween.
Wow that’s crazy
There used to be so many fires in the 90s. There are hardly any fires now, they really turned the city around.
Great reaction. This has been my favourite movie since I saw it in the theatre.
Thank you, must have been amazing in the theatre
They're re-releasing it in theaters at the end of the month. 😁
@@deannamarie8389 I’m in Canada. I wonder if it will be released here…

Your comments about Dylan cracked me up 😂 They do kind of look alike. I love this movie so much, thanks for the great reaction!

Another tragic thing with this remake is that they are trying a remake to this masterpiece.
It’s kinda a crazy decision to remake this

I will never acknowledge any remake of this movie.

Yes great movie
TIM BURTON IS SILLY DARKNESS...THIS HAS NO SILLY IN ITS DARK TALE!!!!😊
I don’t know, this film certainly has a dark humor to it
Was watch this movie in cinema 1995 when was 15 years old. City is Detroit, don't put you in middle when talking, people can't see movie

People don't watch reaction videos to watch the movie, they want to watch the reactors. Are you stupid or something?
the new one is utter trash. they should have spent the money on a 25th anniversary re-release of the original so modern audiences can see perfection.
