- How To Test Soil For Clay | Sand Content
We previously released a jar test video that I believe was giving us inaccurate results about our soil content. The previous method may work for some, but I've found another method that I wanted to share. I believe this gave us a more accurate accounting as to the clay content of the soil. Do you have to use dr.bronners soap or can you use a regular dish soap like original dawn? These older videos are solid gold and provide a ton of awesome info for someone embarking on an earthbag build

What about silt?
That's a good question. We've done quite a few jar tests now and I do see a silt layer on top, but it's not very much.
Green Dream Project, sand on bottom, silt in middle, clay on top.
Yup, that's how it should lay out.
