Try Brouwerij Het Anker in Mechelen! They brew the Gouden Carolus and it's variants. And they also make whisky in their farm distillery in Blaasveld ( Het Molenhof on the N16 road Mechelen->Willebroek )
You learn something new everyday, like learning that there is a brewery in Belgium with my last name "Toye" in it. For a beer fan like me, that's pretty cool.
I wish you'd shown more of your time at the brewery's, that would have been super cool, seeing and learning cool stuff about how and where the beers were made
+Madelaine Woodhouse we try to keep things short but it was a shame to cut so much out. We'll be going back to all these breweries though so we'll get more out soon.
Killin it, Jonny! Some of my favorite places, and Brad chose the best out of the four (Pierre is a genius), although that wet hopped beer sounds like a must have for the new year for me. Cheers!
A week ago my friend had me over for dinner and cracked open an IPA. Living in the west coast your run of the mill IPA is 6 - 7%. The nose was amazing and huge west coast IPA I would think it was 7 or 8 but it was only 4.5! The brewery is Bale Breaker's pale ale. Bale Breaker is a hop farm for years before they opened up the brewery.
great selection, love De Dolle, especially their stout. My other fav is probably the Ellezelloise brewery's beers, great stuff and good story behind each beer. Did a vertical tasting of Still Nacht '14 & '15 at Christmas, both delicious, but the '14 was sublime, it had lost some of the harsh alcohol edge and was very drinkable.
Don't want to nitpick but... The label says Goedendag, not Gouden Dag, 'goedendag' was a medieval blunt weapon used in a famous medieval battle to fight the french occupation. Gouden Dag means 'golden day', not the same thing.
Soy is the "town" where Fantome brews. Its actually a small village far from the big cities, but definitely worth it. But always call in a few days before to check if they are open.
Nice, more to add to my list to try. Would you consider doing a same kind of episode in the Netherlands?? We have seen some really nice breweries and beers emerge the last couple of years. Example brouwerij het ij, Jopen, etc
If you like the 'wet hops' / 'green-hopped' beers you should visit Kent for our next Green Hop Festival (but it's technically not a festival). Some great Kentish beers, only available for around 2 ish weeks in the year. Great stuff. Here's last year's page: kentgreenhopbeer.com/
+The Craft Beer Channel Well ... I was excpecting the video (and I'm working so, better do something else right ?). Cool, I guess you'll post the info on FB ? I wouldn't mind a trip to the brewery myself actually ... ^^
@Thorekk Actually It's The Democrats and Leftists Liberals who Control the Media Forget the Jews.. They are Irrelevant LOOKUP the Frankfurt institute and Columbia and Yale.. Skull and Bones.. It all fits trust me
Ok there are awesome beers here in Belgium. But next time try to taste the other specialties: Chocolate, Fries and strawberries. And maybe even pair them with beers! Cheers
+ojamablack21 your favourite part?! What about the CONTENT GOLD? Yeah, sorry you miss it. Might just be because we see/hear it all day but we got sick of it!
+The Craft Beer Channel Haha, I'll give you that, it's a close race. Ah sure, all good things must come to an end. Any chance you're coming over to Ireland any time soon? *nudge nudge*
Absolutely. Ghent - the Water House (Het Waterhuis) and the Jenever bar right next to it. In Bruges, Brugs Beertje, Le Trappiste, Bieratelier, Cafe Rose Red plus the Bruges Zot tour and restaurant.
+The Craft Beer Channel Brussels Beer Project is certainly interesting, got a lot of media attention recently, but they have some very interesting creative beers, a bit like BrewDog.
+The Craft Beer Channel Try these: De Struise Brouwers, Hof Ten Dormaal, Brasserie De La Senne, 3Fonteinen, En Stoemelings, De Ranke, Blaugies, La Rulles, De Dochter van de Korenaar, Brasserie de Bastogne, Brouwers Verzet,...... ;)
you have the translation correct but the name of the beer does not refer to a good day but to a goedendag, a weapon used in the middle ages, in this case the battle of the golden spurs that took place in Kortrijk where the beer is made ;-)
As a #FDA Inspector visited a lot of breweries & wine processing plants in #UnitedStates🇺🇸 & #Canada🇨🇦 for not just investment purposes but also learn the process of manufacturing beverages🍺 & manufacturing products🇺🇸💘🇨🇦... I was overwhelmed when I visited #WaterlooBrewery... If I had money in my savings I would invest my hard earned money😍 in a local beer brewery🍻 calls #WaterlooBrewingLtd🇺🇸💘🇨🇦., is a Canada-based brewery🍺. It is engaged in the production, distribution & sale of alcohol-based🍸 products. It produces, sells, markets & distributes packaged & draft beer under the Waterloo brand name, as well as beers under the Laker, Red Baron, Red Cap & Formosa brand names, collectively known as the Brick Beer Brands🇺🇸. It also produces, sells, markets & distributes the Seagram Coolers across #Canada🇨🇦, which includes vodka-based coolers, malt-based coolers & ciders.🥂 Its Waterloo packaged beer is also sold in #AtlanticCanada🇨🇦, #WesternCanada🇨🇦 & the #UnitesStates🇺🇸. Seagram Coolers are manufactured & distributed in Quebec, #Canada🇨🇦. Its brewing, packaging & warehousing facility is located in Kitchener, Ontario, #Canada🇨🇦. It has a brewing, blending & packaging facility in Formosa, Ontario, #Canada🇨🇦. Its products are distributed to customers through The Beer Store in Ontario, #Canada🇨🇦 & Provincial Liquor Brands across #Canada🇨🇦. NYSE/TSE: WBR #AllforOne🇺🇸💘🇨🇦
I hate you guys;( it's just not bloody fair, I want your job. Traveling the world drinking great beers. Seriously I hate you but if you ever need another partner I'm your bloody man.

+Kris Baeyens hey. Yeah they make great beer, far from a microbrewery though! They're huge!
i once went on a tour, with some locals and was put to bed at 7pm
Fantastic video gents. Quality of your content if so bloody good these days.
I'm a big De Dolle fan.
+HopZine cheers man! Lots more planned for this year too. Hope we can catch up some time.
Well now i'm really glad I can get Telquin in SoCal. I love your brewery videos. Keep it up!!!
You learn something new everyday, like learning that there is a brewery in Belgium with my last name "Toye" in it. For a beer fan like me, that's pretty cool.
And the beer is bloody marvellous!
I wish you'd shown more of your time at the brewery's, that would have been super cool, seeing and learning cool stuff about how and where the beers were made

+Tasting Nitch cheers Nitch! The Brad has taste and so do you, though of those four I'd go for Arabier every time...
Session IPA will rule the world one day. And breweries on hop farms will always do well because they get the pick of the flowers.

We think it's better with some age. Look out for the barrel aged version - he pulled some in the video and it's amazing.
Don't want to nitpick but...

Gouden Dag means 'golden day', not the same thing.
+Endrikh Darkvine CXVI feel free! Apologies for the erroneous space.
+Endrikh Darkvine CXVI And now that I'm at it, "De Dolle Arabier." actually means "The Mad Arab." :D
Another great video mate! Thanks very much. I can absolutely recoomend a trip to Soy and visit Fantôme. They do a great job over there!
Oh man we have had some wonderful fantome beers! We don't know soy but we'll make it our business to!
Soy is the "town" where Fantome brews. Its actually a small village far from the big cities, but definitely worth it. But always call in a few days before to check if they are open.
How come I've never seen this episode?? I loved it!!
Cheers! Won an award for it and everything...
try 'de dochter van de korenaar' beers. it's a small microbrewery in Belgium...most of their beers are excellent!
Cherry Lambics are like bottled dreams and I've never had a Belgian triple that didn't make my life better.
+Robert Black and I decribe that "umami-ness, moorish-ness' of beer as "chewy" or that it has "presence."
Agreed on both points!
Nice, more to add to my list to try. Would you consider doing a same kind of episode in the Netherlands?? We have seen some really nice breweries and beers emerge the last couple of years. Example brouwerij het ij, Jopen, etc
+Elduderino1378 we're planning to come over this year! We get lots of comments saying we should come and we love Jopen, De Molen and Kompaan.
If you like the 'wet hops' / 'green-hopped' beers you should visit Kent for our next Green Hop Festival (but it's technically not a festival). Some great Kentish beers, only available for around 2 ish weeks in the year. Great stuff. Here's last year's page:

+Jasongvl - looks awesome. We'll try to get involved this year!
Flanders : done (and well done, these are amazing brews and brewers !).
Brussels & Wallonia ? We want to see you !
+Jarastlad thought you'd be the first to comment on this one! We'll be back in Belgium in Feb as we're picking up some Cantillon. Maybe then!
+The Craft Beer Channel Well ... I was excpecting the video (and I'm working so, better do something else right ?).
Cool, I guess you'll post the info on FB ? I wouldn't mind a trip to the brewery myself actually ... ^^
+Jarastlad I'll endeavour to let you know! We always go for drinks at Moeder Lambic too so either place...
+The Craft Beer Channel Dangerous place that is ... you pop down for a beer at 7 pm and end up going back to your place at 3 am. Deal !
Can you please do more tastings I mean I love all of your videos but tastings are the best
You mean the sofa session stuff? Much more planned so hope so!
I wish I could try some of those beers being in America makes that difficult.
+dannyzep92 yeah sorry for rubbing your face in it... hopefully some day these beers will come across the pond!
+The Craft Beer Channel absolutely agree with that and vice versa!
+dannyzep92 You can get Telquin! I don't know about the others though. Good some bottle shops in your area.
take a flight, bro its not that far
@Thorekk Actually It's The Democrats and Leftists Liberals who Control the Media Forget the Jews.. They are Irrelevant LOOKUP the Frankfurt institute and Columbia and Yale.. Skull and Bones.. It all fits trust me
Savory is the word you are looking for Cheers lads
almost...but addictive too. We'll make up a word.
saddictive
Ok there are awesome beers here in Belgium. But next time try to taste the other specialties: Chocolate, Fries and strawberries. And maybe even pair them with beers! Cheers
+The Full Mug strawberries?! That's a new one on me...
+The Craft Beer Channel Come back in June! You will see
Thanks Jonny for the videos, but you should consider to improve the microphone system. Always tricky to hear well when noise in the background
+Michele Berto we consider it every day! Sadly we can't afford to at the moment.
Awh man, you changed your intro/jingle thing! That was my favourite part...
+Ibbofella hoping to soon, if only to film at Galway Bay!
Any recommendations with places in Ghent or Bruge thanks
Absolutely. Ghent - the Water House (Het Waterhuis) and the Jenever bar right next to it. In Bruges, Brugs Beertje, Le Trappiste, Bieratelier, Cafe Rose Red plus the Bruges Zot tour and restaurant.
Do you have any videos about/ft the Mc Chouffe/La Chouffe from the Brasserie d'Achouffe ?
+Simmo270 not yet. We included n'ice chouffe in our Christmas beer round up but otherwise no - we love both beers though so hopefully will one day.
+Simmo270 not yet. We included n'ice chouffe in our Christmas beer round up but otherwise no - we love both beers though so hopefully will one day.
Would like to visit the 2nd brewery "Goedendag" (sp?). Is he still operating? / location? Cheers!
He sure is. The brewery is actually called Toye so google that for details!
Thanks for the reply! Any others you would recommend "must stop", 2 days trek (by car) Brussels - Ghent onto Dunkirk ... Cheers! 🍻
What Belgian microbreweries do you know that deserve to be known by everyone?
+The Craft Beer Channel Brussels Beer Project is certainly interesting, got a lot of media attention recently, but they have some very interesting creative beers, a bit like BrewDog.
+The Craft Beer Channel Definitely Struise Brewers :) Fucking Awesome beers! (Pannepot is in my opinion one of the best beers in the world)
+Wilder Wald great shout. Love that Brewery. Truth Can Set You Free is an amazing beer.
+The Craft Beer Channel Try these: De Struise Brouwers, Hof Ten Dormaal, Brasserie De La Senne, 3Fonteinen, En Stoemelings, De Ranke, Blaugies, La Rulles, De Dochter van de Korenaar, Brasserie de Bastogne, Brouwers Verzet,...... ;)
+The Craft Beer Channel and Tilquin is not pronounced Tilkwin. The 'quin' is pronounced like in Americain, like the French do ;)
"Goedendag" means Good day, when misspelled as "Gouden dag" it means Gold day, also nice, but not the name of the beer. ;)
you have the translation correct but the name of the beer does not refer to a good day but to a goedendag, a weapon used in the middle ages, in this case the battle of the golden spurs that took place in Kortrijk where the beer is made ;-)

Geradin? Really? Try Girardin perhaps? ;)
+Kevin Desmet well that one is embarrassing.
Comforting maybe the word you were looking for?
+sofakingdrunk66 it's definitely that kind of feeling, but it's a bit more flavour based... currently I'm calling them chopsmackers.
It won't last.
Chopsmackers? Thats what i call the Mrs lol
Will you come to the Netherlands too? There is this gossip that the Netherlands has as much (if not more) breweries than Belgium....
+wenling vv it's on the list!
+The Craft Beer Channel yay! You will be very welcome in the Netherlands let me know if you will be around!
just stick to belgian beer the best by miles
Lots of hop heads will disagree! But it's a pretty good philosophy
I hate you guys;( it's just not bloody fair, I want your job. Traveling the world drinking great beers. Seriously I hate you but if you ever need another partner I'm your bloody man.
+Graham Preston (Happless Ginger Brew) haha. It's not all fun and games! Well...actually it mostly is. But we have day jobs too!
