I dont see why people would want the DC universe to fail, they have so many cool stories to tell. I dream of a world where I am going to the movies to see both Marvel and DC movies that are good.
Because some people have nothing to do with their life so they feel the need to direct their resentment somewhere
I have a friend of mine who’s a DC fan refusing to watch any mcu movies, when Infinity War came out we went in to the movies and he waited 2 and a half hours for us outside. It is one thing to have an opinion on a movie wether you like it or not and another thing to be this hateful towards something
I just wanna see truly inspiring and positive Superman who will be able to both fight cosmic monsters and pull cats from the trees with smile on his face
I loved cavills supes but he was under served an had the piss taken out of him by the previous regime. I just want a good superman whatever form it takes. Gunn deserves a chance
You’re not over exaggerating at all. This film has the weight of the world on its shoulders…James Gunn knows this and that’s why he’s taking the challenge. I have so much confidence in him…I do not believe he will let us down. He’s got this!

Gunn honestly is really fit for Superman. Just look at GotG, The Suicide Squad, and Peacemaker:
GotG: A group of thugs, assasins, thieves, and killers who join initially for their own gain, but bond and becone a genuine family of heroes.
The Suicide Squad: A group of criminals who are forced into missions by the US Goverment, but eventually choose to ignore the goverment and do the right thing.
Peacemaker: A psychotic killer who comes to realize his ideology of killing in the name of peace is wring and grows into a geniune hero.
What do they all have in common? That they are all about the best of humanity rising from the least likely of places. That is essentially what Superman is all about, about the best of humanity ultimately rising in the face of darkness.
Happy anniversary to the greatest hero in comic book the one and only Superman 💯
Considering I’ve seen every James Gunn movie (not Slither yet), loved Peacemaker, and hope Guardians 3 is great..I have faith that Gunn will make a great Superman film.

I agree 100% even though we had some good DC movies it didn't work. Time for something new. I am pulling for Gunn.
I'm not sure if Gunn can do it. He would have been great as DC's "Kevin Feige", but doing it himself really risks exposing his usual lack of restraint and filmmaking craft. Get someone like Edgar Wright, an amazing visual filmmaker who excels at set pieces and is inventive enough to wow audiences.
That Harley Quinn movie was great. It’s like DC’s version of Deadpool. Very underrated

I think the most important part of this movie is the casting, if Gunn fails at that, the movie will flop no matter how good the story is.
Agreed. That's what I've been saying, too. That can't be stressed enough. This movie fails if James Gunn gets the wrong guy to play Superman. If they cast the wrong guy as Superman, they don't have a movie-end of story. So it all boils down to casting and the story.

This is just like when Walt Disney did the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. One movie that will determine the future of said person's career and business. But hey if superhero movies actually do end up dying in the foreseeable future then there's always going to be something else that will dominate the Hollywood landscape. I love Man of Steel but i had huge problems with it. Henry lacked warmth and the story was a little bleak.
Also, you cant have Lois without Jimmy. I also missed having a (and pretty) Fortress of Solitude.

Who wants this movie to fail?? The issue that some of us fans have is that we don’t like Gunn’s tone and tendencies. We don’t like that fact he has a way of sucking the gravitas right out of some his scenes with humor. We loved Cavill’s Superman and the rest of the Snyder’s cast don’t believe they needed to burn the house down to fix anything. The studio believes they need levity and kid friendly tones to make money, not to appease the fans. That’s why all of these movies have been failing for a while now. Most of the “actual” fandom of these heroes are older people not 10 yr olds. So yeah, we don’t think he can pull it off in a way that we want, but hopefully we are wrong and his reign at DC is awesome!

I'm hoping we don't get Lex again (unless he's either set or makes a cameo and he needs to be played by Bautista) I want a new villain, someone like Livewire, Parasite, Metallo, even Toyman. Actually it'd be interesting to see Toyman as the villain ( I'd want him to be played by Hiroyuki Sanada or maybe John Goodman).

all i can say is The actual good dceu films to me were Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam, The Suicide Squad and thats it, everything else was just terrible, but im really hoping The flash and blue beetle turn out to be great, and for aquaman 2, i could care less plus i heard it was bad lol

This is by far my most anticipated upcoming DC movie, Superman is my single favorite DC superhero and it breaks my heart that he’s been given so little attention over the past 17+ years, after the Christopher Reeves era all we had was Superman Returns and the 3 (4 if you wanna count the 2017 Justice League) Snyder-verse movies, much like Green Lantern I’ve been begging for these characters to get more attention and so I’m happy that Superman is the one we’re starting off with, and man, talk about a huge amount of pressure for this movie, because after all it’s the movie that’s officially launching the brand new DCU, so they really need to stick the landing with this one, because if it doesn’t that’s gonna be a huge blow to the nuts for them, especially since it’ll have been talked about and built up for 2 years, in all honesty I think this probably gonna be the single most important movie DC has ever created, not just as of recent, I mean the most important movie they’ve ever made period, even going all the back to the original Richard Donner Superman, so they really gotta get this movie right because if they don’t there’s gonna be an astronomically sized stench of failure bestowed upon them

DC have suffered with Superman because of Christopher Reeve was the perfect superman and since then, you can sense they have tried to replicate the performance of Christopher Reeve, but they need to move on and produce something original
man of stel snyder supetman was pretty different and the other media has been experimenting with him too
@@tomimpala it was different, but not in the sense that it understood superman. Snyder was obsessed with trying to deconstruct the character and make him more grounded. Which we saw turned out to be a much different character than what’s normally expected. He practically tried to reinvent the character without actually understanding him. So now with Gunn, it seems like he wants to make something new for the audience but doesn’t want to actively reinvent the character bc it would work for a “modern audience”.
Gunn is going to mess this up cause he keeps mentioning All Star Superman as he inspiration but he really didn't read it. Just like Snyder, he can do an adaption but fails when allowed to do interpretation. He needs to change the title if this movie is about the beginning of his journey.

I'm still a little concerned about James Gunn writing and directing but I'll keep an open mind. I just don't want his stupid and silly humor in this movie and since it's PG-13 we won't get his over the top gore and violence which is good. I don't think anything will ever top Man of Steel for me but if it's at least half as good I'll be happy.
Don't know how they're going to do another orgine story with classic superman without touching on superman returns vibes.
