  • In this video we explain how to convert a regular wireless Bluetooth speaker from USB charging to wireless charging.
As an example we are using the JBL Clip 3 Bluetooth speaker for the step-by-step instructions. But this process can also be done with many other wireless speakers as well.
Just make sure to select an appropriately sized coil for the wireless charging functions. For this speaker we are using a coil with a 1amp capacity. For speakers with a faster charging rate, a 2amp coil may be necessary. How many amps a Bluetooth speaker is charging with can usually be found in fine print on the speaker or in the users manual.
    Enjoy!

Hi! Where did you buy the wireless charging driver?

It's nice sir but what if i want to retain the original charging ports and at the same time install a wireless charging device?

Simply keep the wiring to the USB port in place. Wireless and wired charge I’ll work.

Question, will any wireless charger work to charge the battery now or just the specific emitter coil that comes with the receiver coil?

    • @MegaSafetyFirst

If the receiver coil follows the qi standar, then the emitters for smartphone chargers can be used.

Then, I’m not sure what it is I might have done wrong. I’m using a wireless smartphone charger that lights up when detecting a receiver coil and then begins slowly flashing blue when it’s charging. I place the speaker over on top of it and the charger senses that the receiver coil is on top, but the charger just stays lit up and doesn’t begin flashing blue slowly to indicate it’s charging. So it’s not charging my speaker. Trying to figure out what went wrong.
