- Jon Cryer was just about to put out a public statement of support for Charlie Sheen after being fired from "Two and a Half Men" when he learned Charlie had less than enthusiastic things to say about him.

I still watch the show, it never gets old. i finish at the begining of "ashton season" though..
i get why people didnt watch the show after charlie.
but
they had good jokes and moments with Kutcher.
just a warning not the season finally on season 12.

@Peet Kotze i have no problem with ashton as an actor, he's just not right for this show and the story went downhill from there on, basically not the same tv show so that's why for me it was not worth watching, a pathetic money grabbing streeeetch
I started watching it again from season 1 I'm on season 3 but I will stop at season 8 at the end I tried to watch it with Ashton Kutcher I just couldn't get into it no offense to Jon Cryer or anybody else
John Cryer is totally under appreciated in this show. He definitely gifted us with some great physical comedy. He was a great foil to Charlie's character

Who said he is under appreciated. In any tv shows (im from India) few characters are made to chose this kind so that story appear well balanced. And people like everyone, but only the media highlights only few. I love Alan's character because of his resilient nature.

Everyone bashes Ashton, or BLAMES HIM for the bad end of this series. Ashton DIDN'T cause this. Charlie Sheen DID. His DRUG ADDICTIONS, his inability to take responsibility for ANY ACTIONS. Don't get me wrong I LOVED the first seasons of Two and a Half Men. It was GENIUS comedy. But the simple fact is CHARLIE SHEEN DID THIS. I'm sure Chuck Lorre could've handled it better, BUT Charlie was offered rehab AND HELP and he spit back...I DON'T NEED HELP I'M CHARLIE SHEEN. So don't blame Ashton.
Same here, i’ve watched all the seasons with Charlie in it, over and over again. And i didn’t even download the ones with Kutcher, the whole serie went completely downhill with that guy.

Facts.
Jon Cryer is great. Very classy. He took the high-road on this one, and seems like a genuinely nice guy. He & Charlie Sheen had a Special chemistry on "Two and a Half Men" - those 2 were hysterical together.
You know Ashton is nice and all but NO ONE CAN EVER REPLACE CHARLIE

The writing on 2 1/2 men was the best, by far, of any TV shows I’ve watched. The actors were fabulous. Too bad we’ll never have Berta again; she was a treasure, and funny!
I’m watching season 1-12 now in the uk. Not as big over here but I think the show is so clever. It’s like watching a light hearted play.

Two and a Half men had an awesome cast, everybody was great and had chemistry together.
Sheen was incredible, but he had a meltdown...and Cryer was a pro who carried on. Krutcher took over the role and gave it his best, like a true professional. We have this image of actors being the almost temperamental children, but nothing is further from the truth. The most successful are the easiest to work with, and make the least demands. Pros know when to say yes, and when to say no... Sheen had issues, that made the artistic ensemble of TAHM impossible to function. I loved by the portrayal of Charlie Harper by Sheen, but his problems got the better of him. To blame the other and newer cast members is not fair.
Completely agree. People get mad at Ashton, but it was Charlie's unprofessional behavior that caused the show to be star Ashton in the first place, who simply did his job.

It was basically a completely different show when Kutcher came aboard. It really wasn't "Two and a Half Men" it was more of just a buddy show since Angus was a much smaller part of the show. It was closer to a spin off with Cryer than a continuation.
And yeah Sheen is to blame. If people are mad the show didn't continue on like it did, blame him for his behavior that led to them having to part ways. The choice was never Kutcher or Sheen. It was Kutcher or another actor like Hugh Grant. Sheen was done by then.

Everyone here is praising Chatlie for his performance in the show which undoubtedly was the best but I think without the whole cast the show would have been nothing. From herb to judith and Evelyn the whole cast was outstanding.

Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen worked on Platoon from the 80s and they also did movies in the 90s such as Hot Shots! 1 and 2 etc together.
These 2 fellas are good friends for sure.
I love his character Alan in the show. I think him and Sheen had a great chemistry in their work. I hope they get to work together again. I love these two.

Just to be fair, Charlie has cleaned himself up. I hope he stays that way. He did apologize for the outrageous behavior that led to his firing, even admitted he deserved it. When people lose control of themselves, as he did, there is no limit to what they'll do. But when they find themselves again, show regret & true remorse, we must forgive. I do believe Charlie regrets his actions from that time. The recent passing of Conchata Ferrell, both Charlie & Jon tweeted about what a wonderful person she was. How much they love her, & will miss her. As we all will. But I do hope these guys can make peace, if they haven't already. They have great chemistry together. Best wishes to them both.

The series ended when Charlie sheen ended.
they should make some spin-off or prequel about Charlie's and Alan's life before Alan's divorce with Judith.
For me the Two and a Half Men is a show which had 8 seasons. Whatever happened once Kutcher replaced Charlie for me was a spinoff which didn't work.

I remember Jon and Charlie appearing together in the movie Hot Shots.
Charlie and Jon (Alan) were a special duo.2 polar opposites that made the show pure gold.When Charlie left,it went downhill.Ashton was ok,but Charlie set the bar pretty high and was hilarious without even trying to be.

I just recently started watching Two and a Half Men after thinking it would suck in the past. Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer had great comedic timing together. It's a shame that things ended like they did.

Very different opinions in the reactiosn! Charlie is an amazing actor though I agree. I feel like Ashton Kutcher is a great actor as well - but it's hard to fill in a role like that. The situation just became weird - storyline-wise. It just didn't add up.
