At this point, the video is a year old, and there are LOTS of videos on the Microcosm. However, this one really stands out for me as it focuses more on the musical/practical uses of the pedal. The context of the examples and the on screen descriptions are exceptionally useful in terms of understanding some of the nuances of the various fx combos. Really great, tasteful work on this demo; not just the usual run through of presets. You’ve obviously spent some time with this device which puts this demo on a higher level. Thanks...
The day I recorded this video was my first time plugging into the Microcosm believe it or not! I just don’t waste time is all haha. If I find a sound I like, I immediately try to write something and roll from there. Honestly got lucky with some of these sounds! Really appreciate the kind words and glad to see you enjoying my vids!
This is easily the sickest demo I've ever seen of anything.
This is by far the best demo of this unit that I´ve seen, I´m glad that someone finally put this one in a musical context, unlike others who just randomly turn the knobs trying to show every setting or parameter making no sense in their playing, good job with this one, I´m really tempted now to pre-order one.

One of the most enjoyable demos I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. Love how you cut right to the chase, show how the pedal could fit into the context of a song with percussion, and above all: you focus on making killer sounds instead of treating gear like a science experiment.

So I ordered one for my birthday and it’s currently shipping. I’ve been concerned I wouldn’t be able to carry my own sound with all the reverb and glitches but you just mastered the soft spot between experimental and personal. I weirdly feel like we have the same influences in sound but regardless, I’m a fan! 👏🏼

@@SpiralCasterPlaysPedals do you think dialling down reverb and delay can give you more traditional/basic sounds? I was considering a dual verb/delay like caverns or collider; would microcosm cover all grounds as a regular verb/delay too?
@@1jennifer ehhh, you can def turn the reverb down or off but the effects are all more on the wild side. The only two “multi-delay” modes are patterned or “warped” - that being said, maybe someone out there has dialed in a traditional delay out of it but I haven’t tried it yet haha

Ok this is insanely good. I'm hearing lots of influences here. But what sets you apart. Is everyone else I've seen use this pedal, just plays one single note and relies on the pedal to to do the rest. Like a maxed out reverb. You're actually playing guitar!

Thanks so much! There is a list of all the gear I used in recording at the bottom of the description but other than a light boost pedal and a compressor- it’s just Microcosm yep
So good! How you set up the drums?
would you know how to sync or use this in conjunction with the blooper?
It's been a minute since I had a blooper but you would technically just have to run them together in a midi chain and use something like Ableton, or a midi clock/trigger to start recording/stop and have your tempos sync up on the Microcosm. Using the Microcosm as a looper I imagine wouldn't be too much tricker. Midi commands for engage/disengage are simple things- curious what could come out of looping on both!
Amazing sounding pedal. Too bad if you missed the preorder, they’re virtually impossible to find.
Such is the way sometimes- I'm sure one will come your way eventually though!

Great demo! It's obvious you spent quite a great deal of time to explore the different effects on the pedal. I have two questions. Firstly, how do you think the pedal will respond to fast fingerpicking involving frequent chord changes? Secondly, how stage-friendly you think the pedal is in a live situation? Is it easy to access the saved user presets quickly on the pedal itself without the use of any MIDI controllers?
I have the same questions, did you find any answers?
Does anybody know of a plugin or set of plugins which would come close to this pedal?

Thanks! It’s a low cut filter/bass roll-off knob. Wish every guitar with humbuckers had them!

I agree with both! Since the Synesthesia is mostly modulation- it covers a lot of ground the Microcosm doesn’t, I have both on my board for sure!
This almost seems like it makes Infinite Jets obsolete. What are your thoughts? I'm looking at both but I probably don't need both... not that that has stopped me in the past 😎
I had a Jets in my lap for a min but never got a chance to even plug it in because at the time I was trading like a madman. I wish I could say but my knowledge is limited. From what I can say though, the Microcosm is vastly deeper. The Jets is a "re-synthesizer" though so something different really!

So are there drums or not? Every demo of this pedal uses drums but I don't think they are onboard right?
No drums onboard - it’s just for context!
Overly basic question here, but is it possible to just apply the reverb effect by itself? I’m planning to run this on an Aux Send channel of my mixer for a synthesizer rig and this would be a nice option if the pedal allows it. Great demo!
Yes you can turn the activity down to 0 on any effect and take advantage of the Space knob function- and thanks man 🙌
