    Inferiority Complex is a term used to describe people who compensate for feelings of inferiority (feeling like they're less than other people, not as good as others, worthless, etc.) by acting ways that make them appear superior. They do this because controlling others may help them feel less personally inadequate.

      You missed the point. Practically every current Bok player, of any colour, is there on merit. Willemse was not. Amongst our players of colour, Siya is the worlds best captain, Lukhanyo is the worlds best outside centre, Moodie, Damien Willemse and Arendse are future superstars, Cheslin is arguably the worlds best wing and had been for many years and Ox is the world's best impact prop. Importantly all these players are also fantastic individuals.

Sounds to me that his ego needed a stroke and so he chose this interview, that has been laced with restrictions and prearranged questions, to do that. This was not racism, the feelings you felt was your own inadequate skills and your inferior capabilities as an annalist manifesting in your realization of the fact that you suck at your job.

    • @roelofvanhelsdingen9641
      @roelofvanhelsdingen9641 Před 6 lety +2

      world peace I am very adequate in my field of expertise and year's of experience has put me in a position where I do not have to tolerate fools, the same as Naas and the same as Nick. People who are inadequate in their chosen profession, such as Ashwin, should rather respect the individuals that can provide an example of business ethics and professionalism, instead of behaving like a child, stamp his feet and try and get his friends into trouble by making up stories. By claiming that the whole incident was racially motivated reeks of an after the fact excuse to justify his unprofessional behavior.

    • @TransurLifeawai
      @TransurLifeawai Před 5 lety +1

      @world peace: Let's face facts. Naas says some really obvious and dumb things, as a rugby pundit. I don't listen to his overly simplified analyses, and would prefer if he wasn't on the panel. However, Naas was a ridiculously talented goal kicker, when he was a player, and I understand why many people want to hear his opinion. Willemse was an overrated winger, who was CONSTANTLY injured, and only scored 4 tries for the Boks. This compared to Habana, who scored over 50. Willemse also didn't deserve to go to the 2007 world cup, and wasn't picked on form. One can thus understand why he only played 48 minutes in the entire 2007 World Cup. He is also a poor pundit, and adds little intelligent insight. Mallet is the only guy who makes sense, and he says it like it is. So in summation, I would say that Mallet is the only guy worth listening to. Lastly, being patronizing is not 'illegal', and neither is hurting people's feelings. And how does one even prove whether or not another person is being patronizing ? But still, this issue resulted in lengthy official inquiries and investigations. It was also headline news, for a few weeks. But why? Nobody died. What a waste of time. Willemse is just playing the victim, and doesn't mind potentially ruining Mallet and Botha's lives, just because he claims to have experienced 'micro-aggressions'. We teach children: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me". But snowflakes such as Ashwin Willemse, need protection from people's words, or protection from his misinterpretation of what they actually mean. Its really pathetic.

    • @TransurLifeawai
      @TransurLifeawai Před 5 lety

      @world peace: I don't agree with the old "everything is perception" argument. That is an argument which you often hear someone use, when there is a mountain of facts discrediting their point of view. If Willemse has something to say, then I fully support his right to say it. However, it is he who is trying to destroy Botha & Mallet's reputation, because they may or may not have said, things which he didn't like. Why not let them have "their say" ? Also, the pundits don't "gossip". They're analyzing the game, and there is a demand for such a thing. Many viewers want to hear it. Every popular sport has panelists talking about up-and-coming match-ups, or otherwise simply critique the performance in the post-match analysis. Most of the time, I think that majority of these guys are trying to say what the viewers' want to hear. Mallet is the only guy who seems to give "nothing but the truth". And as I'm sure you already know, Mallet used to be the Bok coach....one of the best we've had. But he got sick and tired of the politics. As for Willemse, if "nobody has to live by another's standards", then why should Mallet and Botha be held to Willemse's standards, in terms of what he constitutes as being patronizing ?

    You were wrong Ashwin, no matter how you try to use big words to spin the situation, you were wrong. Your pronunciation "Saaks" was a trait that made you unique and famous on SuperSport. It is ridiculous to claim people are racist and abused your human rights because of that. You could have handled the situation much better; you don't see Naas running of stage and accusing everyone of racism every time there is a comment about his English accent.

    To be a professional presenter one needs to do a ton of preparation before one goes live on air because you will be exposed. Once exposed Ashwin panicked and released words that surprised even him. Once these words led the way he could not haul them back so he hand to finish dealing that hand to save himself embarrassment. It was all because he was ill prepared and very unprofessional but sadly instead of owning it, as with most black professionals in this country, he plays the race card. Weak move Ashwin.
