    I find seeing someone do something a lot easier than having to read instructions. I always look too much into the instructions and thinking I'm doing something wrong.
    It's always a lot easier when you just do it!

I bought pretty much the same autogauge/autometer but its black. Need mine to regulate that big block during burnouts lol Last show I was at I just hung her out there and said if she goes she goes.. I won so that was bonus. Plus im installing a new carb so id like to see what the idle is and be able to adjust. Thanks

    Just bought one of the cheaper ones and the installation instructions tell you what the various functions are...after it's installed?! So thanks a bunch for this video. Also, if no one else has mentioned it, your tach was stuck on 1k rpm before powering up and then it worked right. Mine was stuck on 4k. Had to tap it pretty hard to move the needle. I thought it was defective.

    Question-- I need a tachometer just for timing purposes. I don't want to install it inside my 1970 C10. I know about the tachometer connection on my HEI distributor. Since I just want to use it for when I'm under the hood, can I use the " battery " connection on the HEI and just unplug it after I'm finished? Thanks for your time---

    I appreciate the video, but I have to ask. Why would you mount it there like that? why wouldn't you keep the clean look and mount the tach next to the speedo and reloacte the fuel gauge to one of the left 4 gauges? Just not sure why someone would want a big chunky gauge sticking out from somewhere is's not suppsoe to be.

    • @FuelInjectionSucks
      @FuelInjectionSucks  Před 5 lety

      Not really, it's not important unless you are doing ridiculous high speeds or have a vehicle with a known weak driveshaft. Engine RPM's are critical.

    • @65oh7
      @65oh7 Před 5 lety +4

      The reading is caused by counting the sparks that happen out of the coil. They're directly related to the rotation of the crankshaft. You'd want to measure the driveshaft rpm if you were using a speedometer.
      If you notice the set of switches that can set the cylinder number in the back of the tach, that's how many pulses from the coil it knows to count before moving.
