Interesting insight into a town I knew nothing about.😁👍 Probably a good idea moving Wellington's statue. While it's new location is less glamorous, the view from a distance wouldn't be visible in central London. Seen from a short distance away, the sheer size of that horse is pretty impressive.
Letting the Gurkhas stay here hasn't done Aldershot and favours and has given the town into a bit of a ghetto feel a out it. It's also sad to see how many pubs that have closed for good.

In regards to the comments of no significant market place is in-correct as there was a fantastic market, through the arch from Victoria Rd 👍
The Gurkha's are from Nepal not from India
yeah, and I'm from aldershot since 1958, not Nepal.
I was there for few weeks lot of Nepali people in this area due to the queens gorkha Regiment recruit I guess

Nice to see where my dad used to be stationed .Moving that statue must of been diifficult seems to be sought hidden now.
