  • What's Glastonbury, England like? Find out in this Home of Glastonbury festival & Arthurian Legend Walking Tour.
Join us for this 4K town Walking Tour through Glastonbury, England and see Eccentric Britain & Arthurian Legend at it's best. We hope you enjoy this walk in the home town of Glastonbury festival.
Steeped in Arthurian legend and history, Glastonbury, Somerset is the UK's centre of alternative and new age culture and is intricately tied up with the legend of King Arthur. The town is also well known for the Glastonbury Festival - established in 1970, ‘Glasto’ as it’s affectingly known, is a 5-day festival celebrating the best music, arts and culture from around the world. We start our circular walk at Glastonbury Market Cross and end up back at the entrance to Glastonbury Abbey.
Explore the independent spiritual shops and cafes and soak up Glastonbury's history. Why is Glastonbury so special? Glastonbury is famous for its mix of English charm, alternative culture and spiritual history - including Glastonbury Tor, the holy Chalice Well and Glastonbury Abbey which is one of the earliest Christian sites in England, and was once said to be King Arthur's burial place.
From London, Glastonbury is around a 3 hour 30 minute journey. You’ll need to catch a train to Bristol, followed by a bus to the West Country town.
So come along and enjoy our Glastonbury walk, filmed in 4K/ 60fps

I spent a month there at the end of 2019 and this was a great walk through that captured this lovely little town of Glastonbury. I learned a few things with your facts at the bottom as well. Very cool. I adore this place and would live there if they would let me. ☺ (I'm American and unfortunately, one can't just plop down in the UK and stay. But if one could..... ) Thank you for making/sharing. Really enjoyed seeing it like this.

Good morning to you Rushia, it sounds like your month in Glastonbury was quite a pivotal one. I do agree it's a fascinating town there's something completely unique about it for sure. I wish we could all just plop down in the place we'd love to be... just like a little google man (we were saying that only yesterday!) Thank you for connecting with us, it makes doing the channel worthwhile! Glad you found the facts at the bottom interesting too.
We hope to bring you many more!
BTW, Did you get to visit Totnes while you were staying in the area? you might like the walk we have there if so. All the best to you friend.

@@LivingWalks thanks for pointing me there. Just watched it. :) serendipitously, Totnes is the location of a school (Schumacher) I had been pointed to for studying an area of interest. I had been hopeful to check it out while in the UK but was traveling with children and we simply didn’t make it down there that trip. The intention was to return, but then Covid. I have wondered what the town was actually like and now I have a sense of it. 😊🙏🏼 Your footage is crazy good quality (almost “realer” than real) and I love the way the sounds of the locations are captured yet not overwhelming or startling. 🙏🏼🌈

Vert well done, showing what the place is really like and with good information in the captions. I liked the detailed quashing of one fake theory very much. It would have been better if that had been followed soon after by the description of "faith groups", because in between those two sections as it is, it seems to move very slowly and I nearly left it at the point . There could have been at least a glimpse of Glastonbury Tor, surely ?

@@LivingWalks Stroud is a very interesting place architecturally, because unlike nearby villages which are now considered more picturesque, it became more prosperous during the early Industrial Revolution. I think this was because it happened to have water power. The townsfolk, many of them, were keen to spend their money updating their houses by sticking Georgian facades onto much older timbered or stone structures. You can see this , and no doubt film it, if you look carefully. It all fell into decay when the industry left because there was no coal, and it was not picturesque in a standard way, But it has been rescued by young Green people and cared for. It was once run by a Green Party council. I'm sure you could make a good video here, with a lot of co-operation. Brixton printed its own banknotes similarly, but not such a good choice.

Good morning @@mirpopolos6209 thank you for your insight into Stroud, a town we know rather little about. We'll certainly bear that in mind.
We don't really run the channel as any kind of a job, so are not filming every week.
We really started the channel to offer the walks as a close to being there experience, and it kind of took off.
Often people tell us that they feel as if they are back in the place that meant a lot to them again and it evoked a happy memory or two and that makes us happy. Hope you enjoy the channel generally, though it may not always have the commentary you are looking for. All the best to you.

All the folktales suggest King Arthur would never let ANYONE have the sword I might not be an acception haha. I think he could of gave it to Merlin for safe keep but Legend says Arthur threw it into Avalon Lake which is now Glastonbury Tor would be the perfect way to end the Legend.

I live in Somerset and have visited Glastonbury but still haven't found the magnet that attracts so many nutters to the region. I have seen Robin Hood ( or a look alike) and Merlin (or some old boy with a long grey beard), but still cannot understand why it attracts so many idiots. King Arthur has never existed but still people visit in case he walks down the Main Street arm in arm with Guinevere.
One thing is for sure - you can make up stupid stories and it will always attract simpletons from all over the World. BTW don't buy the cheap tat sold in shops unless your a total ....... I never have.
