Here again for Drew's "Myanmar" pronunciation. The word has only two syllables. It is not read as "My -anmar", "Myan" is one syllable and sounds closer to "Me-ann", and you really can't screw up on the "mar". So, it sounds more like "Me-ann mar".

Pro tip, the amount of arable land is generally a pretty good rough predictor of population. More farmland, more food, more people. Modern supply lines have definitely changed this but the change has been recent enough that the trend _generally_ still holds, save for a few outliers which have had massive population explosions in recent history and a few nations that didn't bother industrializing/taking full advantage of their land.

@@SpencerTwiddy Humans lived in Asia for centuries, it's only recently that humans migrated to US & Canada.
Also the climate of Canada is not very suitable to live because it is way too cold.
Fun fact , in the interwar period (1920's) , Romania and Turkey had roughly the same population. 13 Million or so. Today however Romania has grown to about 19 Million (so 50%) while Turkey grew to 84 Million (around 650%).
Also Czechoslovakian popilation was bigger than Turkish population

you gotta factor in if a country is landlocked. sure it doesn't matter too much now since we can still export things to those place and import things too, but at a higher cost. even if the don't have a river leading to the ocean or such. but it mattered alot just a few decades ago. meaning those place often didn't grow much

Well indonesia is rank 4th, so by logic then the next door Malaysia must have a lot too right? No, because most of population in Indonesia is in Java, which is way south of Malaysia. The big island Sumatra right south of Malaysia had a lot pops too, but not even close to Java. While Malaysian borneo pops is definitely smaller than Indonesian borneo and the peninsular Malaysia

I just did some stuff about the Census here in Canada for school, so that first one was just making me sweat.

South Africa is as far as I’m aware roughly 60mil. The 54 is a bit outdated. The government doesn’t do censuses very often.
But then again that 60+ might include all the undocumented immigrants. Like the deluge of People that flood across from Zimbabwe. And various other countries in Souther Africa. As well as the odd Somali...
