    I think both are great SUVS, but I will probably go with the Pathfinder just because of the 3.5 v6 engine has been around for a long time. I'm not really understanding how the Kia "does it better" with the ease of moving between 2nd and 3rd rows. The center console is easily removed from the pathfinder, and the fact that it's an option gives it the edge, in my opinion. Plus, you can get it with the caramel interior, which I personally love. Pathfinder gets my overall vote.

    I wonder what the difference in availability will be between the two? The last two years, Kia has had trouble meeting demand. Kia has been charging full price and some dealers a couple thousand more than full price. If Nissan can really crank out the Pathfinders and offer the customer deals on them, I can see Nissan out selling Kia Tellurides. Plus, generally, Nissan has better finance rates.
    I like both vehicles. There is some things I like better on the Telluride and some things I like better on the Pathfinder.

    Have to go with the Nissan on this one. Although I do like the center stack/gauge cluster better on the telluride. Kia harvested some German engineers from BMW and you can tell. Looks very much like my X3 as far as the center stack/gauges. But it does not have the ZF 8 speed or the twin turbo I4 or the I6 so it falls way short there. Its quite an accomplishment that the new pathfinder can take on the Telluride. After all, that SUV was ALL the rage just a few years back. But IMO, this looks like a better option. That quick release for the third row is inspiring. Should send the competition back to the drawing board as far as third row access. Just destroys the competition in that regard.

    I don't know which telluride you got. My telluride has the towing pkg, the rear hatch height adj. I'm 5'11" and adj. to 6'. Auto rear hatch open. I had the nissan and it's nice then I got the telluride. Telluride is definitely a step up. There is also a "sports mode" on the telluride which gives a better acceleration. You need the "prestige edition" mine came with towing pkg included. After having both, no way would I go back to nissan over my telluride.

    • @OK-wb6hp
      @OK-wb6hp Před 2 lety +2

      P.S. The KIA warranty is insane! 10 yrs/100,000 powertrain. 60,000 bumper to bumper. Nissan doesn't come close. No other brand at this price point comes close. KIA stands behind their brand. OK review, but you missed a lot of details regarding KIA. I can say that because I had Pathfinder and now Telluride. Both rides are equally comfortable and quiet.

      thanks for commenting yes kia has a great warranty, is there a reason for it?

    • @OK-wb6hp
      @OK-wb6hp Před 2 lety +4

      @@carsunlocked I think the reason for KIA's exceptional warranty, relative to other warranties is: the "KIA" brand is still consciously considered by many a 2nd tier brand and many still subjectively don't put it in the brands of the Honda's, Toyota's, Nissans', etc. So KIA has to show that they will back their product/brand to convince the consumer that they can run with the more established brands. KIA is giving the consumer good peace of mind to trust their brand. KIa has really hit a grand slam with the Telluride. I get compliments all the time. For the price range and all the bells and whistles I have. It's extremely enjoyable. And the comfort for even 6 adults for a road trip I took, absolutely no complaints. Try 6 adults on a good distance road trip with any other mid size suv. Comfort is definitely not the same as KIA.

      @@trent7080 While agree on the overall dimensions, at 6'4" tall, I am looking for comfort for me as well as the passenger sitting behind me. The 2022 Kia Telluride has 41.4" front (which until I sit in one, may be too short for me) and 42.4" rear legroom. The Pathfinder has a longer front legroom at 44.3", but the rear legroom suffers significantly by comparison at only 35.5". The net of this is 83.8" of total legroom for the first two rows for the Telluride, compared with 79.8" for the Pathfinder. 3rd row is not a consideration for me in this comparison, which is why I am not bringing that into the mix. My position here is based on having my Chevrolet Tahoe with its front leg room being great, but the rear legroom is very much disappointing on what is a full size SUV, so I am very conscious if this when looking at other vehicle options. My two cents is that everyone test the seat configurations for yourself and passengers before thinking you have a winner based on measurements alone.

    Kia easy. But pathfinder isn't bad.
    Just fyi the telly does open up the back with being behind it with the key for like 6 seconds I think. Don't have to wave your foot like most cars, so it does open hands free. At least the 2022, this is the 2021 so not totally sure it has that.

      The Kia Telluride has the hands free lift gate. I think Kia calls it the "Smart Lift gate". However, what has to be done first for that feature to get used is it requires activation in one of the menus found in the driver instrument cluster screen. Then, after that there's a waiting period for it to open when you want it to open. In general when someone wants the lift gate to open, they want it to open right away by which ever command they choose. With the hands free foot activated lift gate there's no activation required. Also, there's no waiting period when the action should be done. As long as the key fob is with you just walk up to the vehicle, move your foot in a kicking motion under the middle part of the bumper or side to side motion depending on the vehicle and that's it. The lift gate will open. The lift gate will also close the same way. Very useful especially if someone's hands are full. The Kia Telluride's cousin Hyundai Palisade has it like that. Kia should've done the same thing.

      @@bengals098558 There are no martial arts tactics needed to open it the way other vehicles have it. Other things can be used to open it as long as the key fob is with you. When there is any type of motion it'll open. The way Kia has it for the Telluride no one will know that it has to be activated first. Some of the Kia salesman or sales woman might not know it either. Doing it the way Kia has it an older person would not bother to try it knowing that they have to go through menus to activate it. So, too much time. Also, too much time when it's to be put into action. Like what I said in my previous message a simple hands free feature like this shouldn't require time used to activate it and shouldn't require a time period to wait when it's to be put into effect. One thing we can agree on is that there are a variety of ways to open the lift gate now. Can be opened from the inside by the push of a button on the ceiling, pressing the button on the key fob, the hands free way with motion or the old way by pressing a button on the lift gate itself.

The technology and features are above and beyond the competition for the money. My only ding on Kia is that while they build a great vehicle, they have a woefully weak dealer network. Pulling into many Kia dealerships for service is like pulling up to Uncle Bob’s Lube Shop with two greasy mechanics and one seat beside the soda machine called the ‘customer lounge’. Kia needs to invest heavily in upgrading its dealerships if it’s going to sell service on its vehicles.
