- The ALL NEW Pathfinder is here and Nissan is ready for the midsize SUV competition. On the outside there is all new sheet metal, 20in wheels, two-tone pain and some touches that connect it with the past Pathfinder. On the inside you will be greeted to a full leather interior, 9in infotainment screen, and 12.3in digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 3.5L V6 285HP & mated to an all new 9-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder a BETTER midsize SUV than a Kia Telluride?

I’ve seen a couple of the these 2022 Pathfinders in person and it looks WAY better than on a phone screen on CZcams
I passed a white one and looked at it several times. nice lookin
@@Tinrs80 Yeah. I actually saw two 2022 Pathfinders today. One in dark gray and another one that was white but it had the two tone black roof
Same seen two video doesn't do the justice. Those my babies.
I rode in a 1995 Pathfinder for 22 years. Mother bought it when I was going to be born, and kept it until the year after I finished college. Legendary, reliable vehicle. Will always have a special place in my heart. Happy to see the new one is looking good.
I have this 2022 Pathfinder Platinum in Obsidian Green with Chestnut Leather and love it. Plenty of room for this 6ft 5in driver with leg and headroom. The Telluride is nice but not interested in the high markup dealers are adding. I got my Pathfinder a little below MSRP and a 0.9% interest rate.
Congrats Bill welcome to the Nissan Family
may i ask what are your monthly payments? it’s totally fine if you don’t feel comfortable saying it.
I'm the same height and currently in the Nissan Murano, and while it's good for around town trips, my knees which are pressed up against hard plastic, on long trips that really makes for an extremely uncomfortable experience. Have been looking at this and the Armada to see if they will make for better road trip vehicles.
@@MrAgill1970 The Armada gas mileage is horrendous.
Was the rate through Nissan or other lender?
I have the 2022 Pathfinder SL in Black. I've gotten numerous compliments on the new redesign! It's only been a month, but I love this car!
Did you test drive a Telluride or Palisade? Just wondering because I wasn’t considering the Pathfinder, but they did a wonderful job with this redesign. Proven engine and a nice transmission. I also heard that the 2nd row works much better for child seats than the Telluride.
@@matthewgeissinger2856 I honestly haven't test driven the Palisade or Telluride. I was actually wanting to get a Telluride, but as soon as I saw the new Pathfinder in the showroom I fell in love lol I do have some zonks about it. When the third row seat is up, the head rests block the view of the back window. Also, the wireless charging pad is too slow for my liking. Other than that, I haven't had any problems 😊
@@drpepper7178 Copy that, thanks. I drove the Palisade and Telluride and they are nice but my local dealers are asking above MSRP and I will never pay above MSRP. I will definitely be adding the Pathfinder to my short list.
How much did you pay? Interest rate? And monthly payments? Really looking into the pathfinder but don’t wanna go over my budget
@@danielsueros8166 I only put $1500 down. Interest at approximately 3.8% (or 4% can't remember) $800 monthly. Planning to refinance in a few months
Looks sooo much better in person, have seen it a few times
*The fact that they swapped out a CVT for a 9 speed geared transmission warms my heart, I’m hopeful for the future of Nissan.*
I definitely think this is a huge upgrade for them.
Aww man I like the fact that you actually had those snacks in the car this time 😂 thanks again for the video as always!!!
The real reason to buy one of this is the twinky tray.
lol exactly what I was thinking
We test drove the telluride and the pathfinder , I ended up with a platinum trim pathfinder and my wife and I are very happy with it. The kia has a bigger screen, but that is about the only thing that impresses me more with it.
The pathfinder is an all around better driving experience and the features in the platinum trim are absolutely amazing. Fantastic car , Nissan knocked it out of the park.
Love the Pathfinder. Your reviews are always spot on point. Thank you @ Lori for an excellent job.
Definitely a lot better then the outgoing model and the best news of all no CVT
no matthew, it's not. Go worship your toyota god man.
I bought this Pathfinder Platinum with the black exterior and the brown interior! I also bought the Grand Cherokee L in all black and I simply cannot get enough of both. Two absolutely amazing vehicles 💪🏼✅
Having had both for a year, could you please share a little about your experiences with your Pathfinder and Grand Cherokee L...dependability/durability and preference if had to choose between the two? Thank you!
I recently bought a 2021 Nissan Rogue and 22 Pathfinder seems like a big brother of the Rogue. I will replace my old Toyota Highlander with 2022 Pathfinder
I'm not really a fan of Nissan products, but the Pathfinder has improved a lot
I agree 100% I love the way it drives
Nice. Really like the new design language for the Rogue Sport, Rogue and now Pathfinder. They finally look the part against their 2021 competitors. Great video guys 👌
Great review Joe!! Awesome job with the Tundra reviews yesterday!! Really loved it!!
Gotta love the nice touch with the twinkies...nice camera work and great video! Definitely helps to get an in dept look!
I'm always so hungry after listening to your car views!!! You do a great job and thank you for adding a little humor.
Thanks for letting me share the laughs and the cars with you!
My mom bought and she loves it so much, she upgraded from 2016 Nissan Rogue
Congratulations to your mom. I have a 2015 Rogue myself but something happens to it upgrade to my Pathfinder too.
I’ve seen both videos and I would 100% choose the Pathfinder
I am so glad that you are liking the Pathfinder!
I have no doubt this will be a strong seller especially with both the Telluride and the Palisade still command a significant waiting period in some places.
Great video Joe, love watching your videos all the time! I'm a huge fan!
I am so glad that you like this one.
The 2022 Pathfinder absolutely is a HUGE upgrade from the outgoing model! I drove a 2019 Pathfinder for a couple of years, and when I saw all the positive CZcams reviews on the 2022 Pathfinder just a couple of weeks ago, I immediate went down to my Nissan dealership and test drove one. And, yeah...traded in the 2019 for the 2022. The steering feels smooth and light on the standard drive mode, and on the sport mode, it feels a little tighter but still smooth. The acceleration is smooth, powerful, and adequate, and the interior is quiet. The seats are comfy...not that the 2019 Pathfinder was shitty or anything, but the 2022 is just awesomeness! GREAT JOB NISSAN! And, thank you always for great and accurate car reviews!!!
They did a great job with this one.
Nissan seems to be coming out of the dark ages, hopefully Infiniti will see the same treatment! Absolutely love this car, honestly it looks better than the Pilot and Highlander right now and with that VQ35 it is a sweet deal.
So far, Nissan did quite a job on the new Rogue, Sentra, as well as the Pathfinder!
@@YN-sj6mu Yes! I have the 2020 Sentra SV package and it is amazing. Feels like an infiniti. The CVT is much better than the previous models too.
My very first Nissan SUV! Terrific job Joe.
Joe, just want to let you know we got a GV80 because of you and Lori. Now, we traded in my BMW 330E and got this Pathfinder and I love it! Thanks for everything you guys.
Love how Joe tests every row including 3rd row unlike most automotive journalists
Great reviews as always. Great content every single time. 👍
Have the same one. It’s so beautiful and comfy. Gets the job done while looking great.
Still driving a 2005 Pathfinder LE and its a very reliable vehicle, it can take a beating and keep going. Also its a very nice passenger experience, everyone I drive around always compliments the leather seats and the space (except the back row but I always have those seats down). This new one is a nice update to what makes the Pathfinder great.
Just bought the 2022 platinum gunmetal with chestnut interior. The wife loves it we watched this video to help us decide thanks for the great info.
I drove one last week I loved the way it handles
We purchased a new SL/premium and we love this vehicle. As far as the Telluride is concerned it's nice but everybody's got one, it's nice to drive something different
Thanks for sharing your ownership feedback!
I tried Telluride, and I don't see anything special about it. I chose SL/premium Pathfinder.
Love your videos. Super helpful
Telluride it is. Can’t beat that 10 yr warranty
Beautiful Family and Daily use car… many thanks for the comprehensive, simple and detailed explanation.
I totally agree with you 💯
Thx Again Joe 😊. For a great review
I like the black wheel ache because it will protect the paint from chips and rocks.
I had a 2014 Pathfinder Platinum. I now have a 2021 Telluride Prestige. I was lucky and did not pay the $4-$5,000 mark up. There are things that each vehicle have that are plusses and minuses. Thank you for the information.
My favorite car reviewer out there ❤️
I love it my boy Joe keep up the work and I love the video lot real true 💯 👍
I like it Joe…….like it a lot. Love the two tone too. The two tone on interior too 👍……..and Twinkie tray
Great review as usual Joe. Back in the dark ages I leased a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder for 4 years and it was absolutely flawless. Incredible dependability. Sorry I turned it in. I'm intrigued by the new one. Thanks for the insight into the vehicle and thanks to Laurie for her great work as well! We enjoy your channel and the Twinkie humor as well!
my friend's dad had a '96 Pathfinder used to drive it from NJ to NYC everyday for work and could sneak in a couple of True Blue cigs without his wife knowing, ever since I've been wanting one!!
The cigar?
@@chiemekaa they're called True cigarettes but I think we called them True Blue because the pack is white and blue
@@stephenlewis7756
I was just messing with you. But I appreciate the explanation.
Hey joe I remember when you took us to Tennessee at Nissan headquarters I think, and we were one of the first to find about it 🏁🏁🏁
Love, love 💕 Nissan’s Pathfinder I’ll be getting my SV Pathfinder in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait. I have always been a fan of the Pathfinder loved the old truck look disappointed when they changed the look however, I’ve been driving my leased since 2019 and love ❤️ the improvements on this vehicle today. Can’t wait for my new Pathfinder! 😃
Love the V-6 with the 9 speed transmission.
I have a 2018 Pathfinder and love the upgrade in all the areas for 2022. It’s still really a road going unibody that can only do very light off-roading. Exactly what I needed it for. At the end of the day, in comparison to the 4Runner.. The Pathfinder is 99% Mallfinder, and the 4Runner is mostly used for on road driving and as a MallRunner with low mpg and handles like an underpowered truck. Body on frame impact protection is a plus.
Awesome review as usual!
How quiet is the interior versus the CX-9?
Love the look of this, just got a new hybrid highlander in March so sticking with that for now
Just bought the Pathfinder Platinum. White pearl with black interior. So loved it during test drive and impressed with all the technology I had to buy it. For me, panatamic moonroof, 360 view of surroundings, head up display, ventilated seats…so many I could keep going but the test drive synched the deal. Amazing power smooth comfortable ride. Road trip!
Sounds like a great plan Barry! Thanks for watching!
I picked up 2022 pathfinder anf and I'm in love with it
Digging this over the Telluride! Nissan has improved a lot!
it looks cheap for a nissan
Love the 3rd row seat. Perfect for my mother in law
One of the best and few options if you have 2 or more car seats and regularly need access to the 3rd row.
Raiti, you do a really good job on reviews! The Thing that turned me off about Telluride was finding the the Rear Drive Wheel Half Shafts were about the diameter of your Index Finger. When I saw that, I passed on the Telluride since I needed a Tow Vehicle. It would be nice for Tow Vehicle Reviews if you would show the Drive Wheel Half Shafts in the Rear especially. 👏
That is an excellent point! Thanks for tuning in and for sharing your thoughts on the topic.
Great review john
Great camera work
Great review 👍
It is worth mentioning that the previous Pathfinder was basically a soccer-mom crossover. Before that, the Pathfinder was a legitimate 4WD SUV. This new version brings back some of the SUV heritage in terms of design and capability. It's true that all the brands are looking at the Telluride due to its success. But Nissan is also trying to differentiate from the competition by going more SUV...not quite a 4Runner but definitely not a CVT Pathfinder.
Curious what you think they’re doing to blend the line from crossover to true suv? Not a knock, I’m about to buy one, but it’s still a unibody without a true 4wd system. Other than maybe styling? I see no attributes that make it any less large crossover than an explorer or hylander. The increased tow capability maybe?
@@michaelmarrero7819 The AWD selector knob and new transmission definitely help and the marketing was geared towards exploring versus marketing as a people hauler. The platform is the same as before though. Glad they ditched the CVT
Love the way the rear end looks 🔥
It is really muscular.
@@RaitisRides for sure 👍
Great styling cues from the gen 1 platform. Had a ‘90 pathfinder back in the day.
Well that’s a good suv thank you Lori and Joe it needs more aggressive tires great looking inInterior!!
It needs dual exhaust
Very nice, Joe. Had put the model in the bin because of the cvt. I had an 89 XE two door that was problem free for 220k miles. Good to see al the changes. Thanks for the video. Cheers.
They got rid of the CVT…
@@adrianfigueroa8622 And that put this vehicle on the road to being a great sales success.
@@2W3X4YZ5 as a fan of the brand I am happy they are taking a step in the right direction.
@@adrianfigueroa8622 I wouldn't even consider 1 without the cvt. That was my favorite feature of the car and actually why I got a cvt vehicle back in 2008. I like feeling like I'm gliding at a constant low rpm but gaining speed and not shifting 6 times just 2 reach 35mph lol.
Pathfinder over telluride for me
Why
@@coolyjavon591 Jhiki chekes
I agree. Japanese vehicles are definitely going to last. Specially that Nissan got rid of that horrific CVT. I feel the Kia and Hyundai’s are made half fast and might look good the reliability is not there
@@jefferychambrovichjr6681 They are actually higher in reliability than Nissan!!
I got my SL 2022 with the premium package and I love it
Had a 22 Telluride for 4 months, totaled. Ordered a 23, 6 month wait. Starting to look at the Pathfinder, really digging it! Might have to switch it up!
what did you end up with?
Great presentation
Loved it!
Not sure if I like it better than the Telluride but but it’s pretty nice. As always you and Lori are then best!
I'm really digging the new pathfinder! Not sure if you reviewed the new Subaru Ascent but if you haven't, please do that suv next. I'm stuck between that and this.
My husband had his Ascent for 3 months and had to have the transmission replaced. Read the forums.
Which is the better driving experience, Acadia AT4 or the Pathfinder? Thanks great video!
Have a 2004 Pathfinder Chinook 3.5 l ....love the R50 platform but this is tempting too.
Joe, thumbs up on the Twinkie cubby LOL. Love your reviews man. We have the Toyota Highlander Platinum Hybrid, but I like what Nissan is doing (back to V6) and this new Pathfinder has some character and great tech. If I was in the market for a V6, I’d definitely give the Pathfinder a look against the highly marked up Telluride.
Thanks for the compliments! We appreciate you sharing your thoughts and your input!
@@RaitisRides You’re quite welcome.
Hey Joe! Is the ride quality similar to the new QX60 or does the Infiniti ride a little smoother?
Joe, does the power folding mirrors fold-in when car is locked? Or you have to press the switch on the mirror panel to fold? Thanks!
Its well well worth a look at least can say now.. pretty good job Nissan.
Is there any way you can do a review on the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado in the future? Curious on your take on it!
I like it. Great design and very competitive.
Love the color and the Twinkie tray!
Yes I should go with a new Pathfinder than a Telluride and I did with a SL trim one month ago and I think I love it a lot 😂
I have pathfinder 2008 & I love it I really want to get new pathfinder 2022 look great
Looks like the inside of the teleride is much nicer what do you think Joe do you still like the teleride is that your favorite
Do a review of a lower trim, Joe Hopefully one that has a bench middle seat
Hi Joe, i’m looking at this car, the Highlander and the Pilot. Which one would you recommend out of the 3? Thank you!
I love the reviews. I love the vehicle but can you show us the mid level trims of these vehicles?
Just picked up the same red with RC trim. Really enjoying it. It’s my first SUV so not much to compare it to.
Last week I bought the same color scheme but with the blacked out grill.
Nissan has my vote. I've had 3 of them and my current one is the Rogue.
Fantastic review. One question I had was the difference between the Palisade drivers dash and the Nissan Pathfinder. Does the Pathfinder have all the different information and views as the Palisade? I love the interior of this Pathfinder.
The Palisade has clearer graphics and cameras.
Do the rear windows roll all the way down? Would love to see a rear window test
Bought one a month back I love it.
That's 👌awesome.
Does it have led rear directional lights ? Front also ?
Just got mine about 3 weeks ago it’s a smooth vehicle never thought about a Nissan before had many cars since I as 21 I’m 56 now I like this vehicle tried to get a palisade didn’t like the ride as far as the telluride they marked the price up crazy and it was hard to get this was available so far so good 😊
Sl premium in mocca
Ok had it for about 6 months 4000 miles driver heated seat stop working and on the highway at about 60 miles per hour I get a exhaust smell in the car it’s been going on since I brought it so I took it on a trip from ny to nc thinking it would drive itself out but it came back so I have to take it back to the dealership safe to say I won’t lease another Nissan not what I thought
I love mine as well but major design flaw recently discovered driving in Canadian winters on the highway. When you use the front windshield wiper the water is pushed by the wind to streak across the drivers side window
This eventually freezes and completely obstructs view of the drivers side mirror. Major safety issue. Recently came back from Nissan dealership. They've had one other complaint of the same so far and said there isn't anything they can do at this time.
It would be nice to see a side-by-side comparison of the Nissan 2022 Pathfinder Platinum Edition with the Nissan 2023 Rock Creek Edition.
Looks pretty good but, there’s always a but, having a black roof makes the C pillar looking chopped off. Floating roof would look better with the same top color. On a black lower it wouldn’t look that bad. Thanks for the great review Joe and good work Lori!! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Talk about the shift lag. CVT did not have that. Also, I wish the infotainment screen was tilted towards the driver...just like the Maxima.
The vents at the top are so good for rear facing car seats.
Hey Joe ... serious.. my truck had interior LED lights and i put those kind the Pathfinder has.. my eyes are sensitive.. dont care for Bright interior lights. I do think they should have it as an option or so like they do with the weather mats and muds guards.. Dealership upgrade or so if you want.
I rented the last gen and drove 1000 miles in a day. That put Nissan on the interesting list. This looks way better. Plus it's got a great towing limit like the Durango and JGC L. 5000lbs doesn't cut it for me.
