- Quick overnight camping trip into the mangroves in search of a nice mud crab and and a camp fire. Was only a minor success but we still managed a delicious catch and cook so happy days.

After watching your videos for quite a long time, I now realized why I like your content compared to other outdoor channels that I'm subscribed to.
Your content doesn't include you forcing yourself to be overly energetic. It doesn't have the typical "vlogger" vibe where you place your camera intentionally on the ground to get a footage of you walking. It's mostly POV, which I like because I could almost live vicariously through your vids.

Not gonna lie, I started watching and spent the first 4 minutes raging because someone doesn't seem to have tied up his boat. For some reason that always gives me hives.

I've only got 3 things to say, 1st, I love watching these videos because it reminds me of my younger days doing exactly this on the weekend on the Gulf of Mexico, 2nd, I love the way you use the phrase you "humanely dispatch", clearly some people have never just been hungry if they have to "humanely dispatch" their prey! 🤣 3rd, only a true fisherman can appreciate another true fisherman abiding by the "code" and not setting right on top of another trap. Thats a beautiful piece of driftwood for aquascape, soak it first in freshwater for a week before you use it in a planted aquarium

Feels like I've had a win when I find each new Rokkit vid. Another goodie. I learnt my lesson on landing nets a long time ago fishing in a tinny with my lad and lost a decent flatty. To this day 25 yrs later he reminds me about it 😂

My Dad used to call the spot you’re camping ‘the stockyards’. The old Logging Ships used to beach there on the way from the Upper Nerang river to Brisbane. We have caught some massive Flathead in amongst the timber in front of there over the years.

When I was growing up along the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia, we'd put out our pots and they'd be full in 30 minutes. Those mud crabs must be less prevalent. They were Blue crabs. We also used to catch them with a piece of chicken on a string. We'd put out 4 or 5 strings and when they were taught we'd pull them up slowly and net the crabs. Sometimes there'd be two or more on each line. Once my friend and I went wading in a lagoon at low tide and netted 250 crabs which we sold to my Aunt, who had a seafood shop.
