  • In this video I walk you through how to replace your master window switch on your 07-13 GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado. This is the switch I bought off of Amazon:

Thank you , a very clear video with no BS . Saved me from possibly breaking something while trying to get things apart .

Happy to help. After the fact, while the cheap one still works, I might spring for the OEM part. It just feels better and the auto-down is more consistent.

Dealer wanted to charge $400 dollars for this job. With your video I did it in about 10 minutes. The part cost around $16 on Amazon. Thank You! Thank You!

Thank you so much for this video! I've got to tell you that my 2007 Sierra has 302K miles on the original engine and tranny- just now having to replace window control- exact issue as you had with passenger side, up, not down. Thanks again for saving me $$$

Hey thanks for the tips, I did my switch in about 10 minutes. Your video made that possible.
I picked my switch up at NAPA, unfortunately it costed me about 80 plus tax.
In the future it will be via amazon as it seems the price is at least half of what I paid.
My new switch is assembled in China for NAPA parts. My old one was assembled in Mexico.
    Take care

Very good job this is like one of the best vids I've seen here . I wish my truck had separate switches but my 03 is all one piece and like 175 I guess I'm a wait it out a little longer lol

Just watched your video, thanks for sharing this information. How is your $20 switch holding up over 2 years later?

Thanks for the video. Easy replacement, but the drivers side window still doesn’t work

Happy to help. You may have a motor issue if the controller replacement doesn't work.

Did you try cleaning contacts inside the switch? I took mine apart and cleaned it. Works good

I did. I saw that was recommended on a message board so I tried it but it didn't fix anything. Not for me at least

I think I need to replace mine. The rear windows do not go down. What’s with the “programming” that it says it might need?

It could be the motor. For me, I noticed it would go down sometimes but never had any issue going up. To me, that made me think about the switchgear. That's a much easier and cheaper first fix than the motor. If the motor is broken, that's a whole other issue.

The next thing that will happen is your body side molding on the doors will start popping off.
