  • It’s sad to admit that I’ve visited Table Rock at least 50 or more times over the years but have never taken the time to actually explore Camp Oolenoy. The history behind the camp is pretty remarkable. The parks first naturalist was able to bring so many children out to the park so they could explore the outdoors. She deeded her property to the state of South Carolina so her legacy could be preserved. I was happy to see that all of the old buildings on the property were still standing.

This is my favorite upstate state park. We visit Table Rock a few times a year. I’m also fond of Jones Gap and Caesars Head. They are so beautiful in the fall. I enjoy Oconee as well, but it’s more out of the way for us to visit. I did enjoy making this video because I had never really explored the old camp before.

Your videos are very informative always, and the videography is beautiful with the flowers, and green trees and grass....Of course it is not as good as real
life and actually being there and the smells and sounds, etc. I have never seen a gold/yellow azalea before so that was beautiful...I know where one is at now!!
SC has alot of beautiful parks and the ones higher in the mountains are really beautiful with the falls and rivers/creeks and lakes. It is probably nice and
cool still and why some flowers are still blooming. The heat has got them yet. Thanks to Ellison and the Ropers for this park.

I try to make most of my videos somewhat informative. I still have people that don’t like how I make my videos, but I’m okay with that. I appreciate all of you that do enjoy what I do. It takes a lot of time for me to go to the places I do go to to make videos. I’d still visit the places anyway, but at least by making videos I can take people along with me that enjoy the same things I do.
The flaming azalea is my mom’s favorite azalea. She loves the beautiful orange color because it really stands out from the traditional colors. I spotted the one in this video and tried to figure out how to get up to it.

@janusaflorida7909 That’s true. I watch a lot of the troll channels and they are ruthless in how they create their videos to pick on people. I am my own worst critic. I see flaws in my pictures, I see where my videos don’t show up as clearly as I’d like, and numerous other things. I pronounce many words wrong, my breathing is too loud sometimes, and my bones are creaking in a lot of the videos. 😂😂😂 Regardless of all that, I still send my videos out into the world for people to see. I know they aren’t perfect, but it’s okay, it makes me happy. I always enjoy hearing from people when they let me know that they visited places I have shared in my photographs or videos of my travels.
