We love visiting the Okefenokee. I’ll more than likely visit a few more times this year. Thanks for watching and commenting. I try to make the kind of videos that I would want to watch myself.
Awesome trip through the Okefenokee Swamp . The water lillies were beautiful . Thank you both for going to the top of the tower and giving us a better veiw of the swamp . That area sure did come back thicker after the fire . That gator at the end was playing ....now you me , now you don't , lol . Glad you were able to see at least one of them . The turtles were awesome to see . Thank you to each of you for this enjoyable trip . Y'all stay safe . 😊
The Okefenokee is one of my favorite places to visit. There was a tour guide there years ago that said once it gets in your blood that it never leaves. I’d say that’s true for me. I can’t visit it enough. I only walked up the tower because mom did. I am not fond of heights. I was hoping to see more alligators, but hopefully they’ll be out on my next visit. I get lucky sometimes and see the huge ones.
Found the Oke. NWR boardwalk on google maps just west of Folkston, Ga. That is a nice boardwalk and since you like gators , you finally saw one. It has been in the 90s here near Ocala, Fl. too hot, and very little rain so everything is dusty and you dont want to go outside except early morning or later evening. You must have stayed overnight at a motel nearby one night? Thirty dollars for three people meal is about as cheap as you can get and I would consider than a good price and the food looked delicious...I love fresh tomatoe slices. That eight percent Georgia sales tax ouch.....it is six percent state/county sales tax here in my county. Both you ladies looked good in those hats....I think Donna looks sharp in it and it protects from that hot sun. So we got to see the water lilies, some water birds/herons, some other birds, a huge turtle, and a gator. That is getting out with nature beauty. Thanks for sharing trip with us.
This has been one of my favorite places to visit for years now. We stayed in Kingsland one night. It’s a little over 30 minutes away from Folkston. All of the food at the Camp Cornelia Cafe has always been good. They make really good subs and salads there as well. We pay a 10% hospitality tax on hot food where I live, 8% on regular merchandise, and 1% on food that you prepare yourself. We rarely eat out unless we just really want something different than what we cook.
So beautiful! I can't believe we haven't gone back (first time there it was barely 8:30am and nothing was "up and running" and we couldn't hang around). FYI for anyone interested, boat tours are $35 unless you want a more in-depth which is $50 according to the website currently.
The best way to see the Okefenokee is by taking one of the boat tours. You never get the same experience twice. Each guide also brings their own stories to the tour. We have always enjoyed every visit we have made out there.
Beautiful scenery peaceful and serene.
Love your content, thank you so much for sharing with us all. 😊
