- I haven't been vlogging as much lately as I've traveling a lot so I made a short film about the importance of change. Also - THANK YOU FOR 10K! :)
For those who may ask: I’ll be back in CA soon, just needed a little break.

Hi Michael.
I’m a friend of your Dad and he shared this with me today.
It’s a wonderful message about accepting change. Something I struggle with even at my age. Thank you so much.
I must correct that I did not leave california for good! I’m on a short term excursion and will be back soon. Hopefully by then, the June gloom wears out 😉☀️
Consider Berkeley, California(Ben Affleck’s birthplace, home to the number Public university in the US) Redwood City (Silicon Valley Area) or Marin county Sausalito Area.
One thing about SoCal is that if someone does not like June Gloom or May Gray they can drive inland maybe an hour or two to Desert and get warm weather and Sun. That is what I like about SoCal is that you can get all types of weather in short distances. If you miss Fall and Winter driving to the mountains or living there for a month can give you same experience as New York or Chicago. Same cannot be said of other parts of USA. Summertime if you feel too hot going to the beach you can get pleasant weather as well as New York can get very hot even at beaches. I feel people who live in Chicago and New York are hustlers and can move to LA but same cannot be said of people from LA as they cannot move elsewhere. I feel you will stay here forever.
I'm a lot older than you. Change for me IS scary, beautiful, and exhilarating. It's something I sometimes challenge myself to do and never regret once having done so. Wishing you the very best in any and all of your changes.🍎💚
No way!! I’ve been watching your videos for the past year and dreaming of Cali. After living in Chicago for a few decades, I’m moving to Los Angeles in a month from now!
haha good luck! I’ll be back in CA soon :)
Agree, when something isn’t working for you anymore, it’s time to change it up. Excited to see what new adventures you get up to!
Hi Michael, no matter where you go - trust your storytelling and uplifting perspectives would continue to amaze subscribers.
Welcome to my beautiful hometown of Chicago! I visit often especially during the fall (my ultimate favorite season) . I'm still living my Southern California dream , living in Santa Monica , but there's something about Chi-town that I can't seem to let go of either. 😍
I feel this so hard right now! I'm so glad this video popped up on my home page, esp having lived here in LA for a year now. :)
I've never sat through a video with so much anticipation. All the best on your new endeavors!!!
Needed this right now. Just graduated college and a lot is changing. Especially where I want to live, keeping an open mind knowing it’s going to be okay.
I needed this today, thank you!!
Such a beautiful video. If these are your shots they are fantastic. Best of luck in all future endeavors!!
Thank you for this video! A year ago I moved from a small European country to New York, and everything you said felt very relevant and comforting, putting the chaos of my thoughts in order.
Need this VERY MUCH! I will be dealing with change as I will be graduating from College next month and change is not something I am not used to with the disability I have. It will be hard to process. The next chapter in life will be there for me as I will look for jobs in the film industry and look for making the move in Southern California soon so this is great. But again change is a scary thing for me.
Hello! Always such a great pleasure to be on a journey with you! Thank you so much! Looking forward to another and another🙈 looks like you live in a paradise town
This was a really great video Michael. A lot of people really struggle with change (including myself at times!). Thanks for always creating consistent quality content 👏
Michael, this video helped me more than you know today my friend. I love your channel, message, and lifestyle. Thanks for keeping all of us searchers motivated🤙
Change is beautiful, but I always try to keep what my Gran would always say in mind- "where ever you go, there you are." New places, new expirences can lead to profound change and growth, but only if you're willing to change. Otherwise, you're just going to find the same issues and discontent, just in a new place.
Very true
Michael, I’ve been following your journey for a long time. I wish you the best during your time in Chicago. The downtown and lakefront area is beautiful. Lots of summer festivals around. I’m in the suburbs, for many many years. My dream is to move to central coast CA.. Anyway best wishes! And I’ll keep following your journeys 😊
Love the lakefront! Thanks Suzie. Only here for a bit but taking it all in :)
Nice to finally here from you !!! Good messages 😊 🔥
Great video, Michael. Thank you for the encouraging words. I really enjoy your videos, and I look forwards to seeing them. Be Strong and Stay Encouraged!
OMG Chicago?!
just for a bit!!
Well done Michael.
Can't wait to see your videos comparing LA and Chicago. BTW, welcome to the Chi!
Your videos are so amazing and inspiring! Please keep being you.
Enjoy your adventure, Chicago is an interesting place to see at least once, you're going to miss the food in California more than the sunshine.😉 Mid-west food is meh.
Agree.
I am very very there are plenty of parts of Chicago you *will* find scary -very scary…
My family ‘escaped’ Chicago many decades ago, and never looked back.
We sincerely hope to perhaps see you back in CA, perhaps San Diego, very soon Michael.
Best wishes and please, BE CAREFUL.
Every large city has scary places.
I love this so much! I love you! Every thought, idea decision, mistake, we make brings us to our current point in life. Enjoy the journey the destination is always unknown. What’s next?
OMG Midwest is an amazing place. Remember though, unlike out East, our winters are not only cold, but gloomy. Much friendlier than LA people, but I dare say Chicago is a bit more boring. Not as much pulse as LA has albeit charming.
Gosh , I'm gonna miss your California videos , but this is gonna be a good change for you.And next stop after Chicago ? Spain , of course ! ;)
Great intro beach shot, where is that spot? Anyways, I visit LA\OC to see a different perspectives. Change is great for new beginnings and experiences, when you know\feel it's time for change..
Change is necessary. You can't get new results without new actions.😊
When you moved to San Diego for a short time, I started to think something is forging. And when the hiatus in the videos came it reassured me. Good luck in Chicago, but I guess the winter will drives you back to Cali🙂 (even if you are a New Yorker) !
Ha thanks!! I feel like I’ve given the wrong impression that I’ve moved here full time haha just here for a short while but gonna enjoy it while I can!
I read an article a few months ago penned by a woman (I believe she used to live around Mar Vista) who relocated her family to a new location in the US. I don't recall all the details, but she ended her article by saying that when her husband asked her if she was happy about the move (& I guess to be a good sport), she said yes. But she wrote that her actual opinion was one of more ambivalence, maybe even some regret. In my case, I used to live in an area that's not as nice as where I am now, but I could see myself relocating to that former community & not get the bends.
Family ties, friends, income, job security & living arrangements (how nice a home or apt is or isn't) play a big role. Generally, I admit I'd rather have a comfortable living arrangement (income, etc) in any city or country rather than a hand-to-mouth one regardless of the location. However, I recall a person yrs ago writing that he'd rather be a maid in Paris than a tycoon in Beverly Hills. lol.
Consider Berkeley, California(Ben Affleck’s birthplace, home to the number # 1 Public university in the US) Redwood City (Silicon Valley Area) or Marin county Sausalito Area. All in Northern California. Mendocino Coast and Crescent City, California is God’s Country! Best Wishes
You should try living in south Flordia in the future bro. Again very artistic and deep thinking video I love it keep it up!
As an outdoor enthusiast, how are you going to live in such a flat place? No hills. Absolutely no hills in Chi.
Where is this at Michael???
