This is one of the times in music history that geniuses, that otherwise would never work with each other, just so happen to write music together and give us such astounding songs!
It's natural that personalities like Richie and Ronnie would inevitably clash, but that golden period of time, that narrow window of them working together has given us these gems.

I missed seeing Toney play as they had replaced him for Long Live, Rock n Roll. I was 15 years old, this was an incredible day, got to see Cozy drum. Amazing. Nobody wanted them to stop playing. Remember hearing Ritchie jamming on his own before the crowd came in.Couldnt wait to get to our seat. About 40 years ago, still feels like it happened yesterday. Had the great pleasure of seeing this lineup play this song as a 16yo in late November 1976 in Adelaide on the Australian leg of their world tour. Was my first international band rocket concert. It left a lasting impression on me as they were the best live rock band in the world at the time. I can 'see' those 2 magnificent backdrops & the moving rainbow. It was stunning!

My brother and I were at that concert, Festival Centre. Best venue in Adelaide. Awesome sound, spectacular show with that Rainbow. Will never forget Cozy's 1812 drum solo. Just astonishing. What a superb group of musicians!!!!!

I have enjoyed this Concert on the 27.9.1976 in Düsseldorf/Phillipshalle. A friend of mine take a record on a SABA cassette recorder- but this here is much better from the quality! Thanks for this! Generaly Ritchi play Stargazer not often in this Concert Tour. And Ronnie James Dio(RIP) was a Lyrical Highlight! And we will also Remember Craig Gruber(Bass on the 1. Album- Rainbow) who dies of cancer aged 63 in April 2015. The Line up of this tour was:
    Ronnie James Dio> Vocals
    Tony Carey > Keyboard
    Cozy Powell > Drums (RIP)
    Jimmy Bain > Baß
    Ritchie Blackmore > Guitarre
The best deal was Cozy at this time. His Solo Projekts flopps- and he need a new job.
Now the man in Black circeld the rules of Membershipping.
I`ver saw Concerts in Colonge 1978 , but this doesn't mach this Concert in Düsseldorf.

Sting (police) played in Argentina in the 80s, The military Junta was still ruling and you probably know Sting always was very involved with human rights, so probably Rainbown did not play due another reason

I'm sure they tweaked this song multiple times live, but this is pretty damn good. Sounds like it's in a different key. The haunting backing on the solo is great too. And considering this is not even a polished, top-notch recording, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thx for posting.

I met Ronnie JamesDio. I was a big fan. I had seen Rainbow, at the Rainbow, Findsbury Park. Ritchie Blackmore, probs the fastest and best guitarists after Michael. Cook (I.Q.), did a 3 minute encore strop, moody fuck, dissing his band, I was backstage, at Wembley, with Iron Maiden. They recorded daughter to the slaughter,.after the gig, was in the dressing room with Dave and Adrian, VIP passes so security very polite and access all areas, in walks a very big man, turfs us out, VIP, what? Oh, of course, five foot Ronnie and two six foot bouncers minced in, flipping Diva,. Great vocalist. He helped to revive Sabbath. God bless you RJD but.
