  • Carole Osborne, Founder and Instructor of Body Therapy Education, demonstrates how the side lying position is a great way to treat Piriformis Syndrome. The symptoms can include numbness, achiness in their hip, in the side of their buttocks and down the back of their leg. These symptoms are usually attributed to several problems however in this video Carole focuses on Piriformis Syndrome because that is a problem for pregnant women and other clients that you work with commonly share. Piriformis Syndrome is a condition where the Piriformis muscle is compressing on the sciatic nerve. Carole demonstrates the best movements to open up space and stretch to the muscle. This technique can be used on all types of clients like dancers, gymnasts, and various other athletes to relieve the strain and pain in that area.
