  • Who was the real Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna? She has been described as haughty and cold, but was she really like that? Learn here the truth about one of modern history’s most discussed personalities. Her words, “In my heart is love and forgiveness for everything, though at times I am not as patient as I ought to be. I want to be a better woman, and I try” can be understood only if one studies the reality about her physical and psychological background.
Nicholas B.A. Nicholson was interviewed by Elissa Bjeletich about the content of the book “The Romanov Royal Martyrs: What Silence Could Not Conceal” and the show was broadcast live on February 9, 2020, on Ancient Faith Radio.
“The Romanov Royal Martyrs” is an impressive 512-page book, featuring nearly 200 black & white photographs, and a 56-page photo insert of more than 80 high-quality images, colourized by the acclaimed Russian artist Olga Shirnina (Klimbim), and appearing here in print for the first time.

    • @destinyclark4133
      @destinyclark4133 Před 3 lety +15

@@joemar6411 Alexandra was naive in the sense that she thought the people of Russia would love the Romanov family no matter what, but she most definitely cared about the Russian people, which is why she and Nicholas paid for all the coffins and funerals of the people who died in the crowed during the coronation who had come to get the free food that was being given out. They also openly mourned the deaths of all who died in Bloody Sunday, not to mention she transformed one of the Romanov mansions into a hospital for all of the wounded men in WW 1 and personally cared for many of the patients there, devoting almost all of her time to them. The popularity of the Romanov family had already been on a decline since the 1870s and especially after the bombing of Tsar Alexander lll father which caused him to ripped up the treaty his father had made in anger and grief, which ironically was actually going to guarantee more freedoms for the people of Russia. So really if it hadn’t been for the Russian people themselves, they would have gotten the freedoms they wanted a lot sooner, the Romanov family wouldn’t have been held hostage for years and brutality murdered, and there would probably still be a Russian monarchy today.

@@RomanovRoyalMartyrs Thank you for providing this resource so we can learn more about the Romanovs. I'm a history major, and am appalled how students aren't taught history in the modern era, but propagandized rewritten history, that is taken out of the context of the period, and is misguidedly judged within the context of the modern era. You can't judge history using the standards of today! Our world, the environment, standards and conditions of life with modern technology, advanced modern medicine, computerized factories and industrial farms, jet travel, cell phone communication, internet social media connection, interstate highway systems for transport and travel, have created a life style environment, and life experiences so foreign to our ancestors that lived over 100 years ago, or the people that lived in (Russia a century ago), as the Romanovs; that it's impossible for the people to accurately judge with honesty and clarity, and in depth understanding, the circumstances surrounding the period of that time.
Not to mention, the totalitarian environment of war and revolution, which was a life and death struggle for existence, that could change within a second depending on where and how the revolutionary winds blew. Combine that with starvation, peasant revolts, brutal winters, the after math and chaos of WWI, and the Bolshevik Revolution, you literally are plunged into a World at War, between itself, within itself, with all the elements of nature, disease, starvation, and antiquated technology to survive it. Compassion didn't exist then, not even for nuns and orphans.

British plans to save the family fall through.
Britain regretted the offer almost immediately. The government was nervous having the Romanovs on British shores, while George V’s private secretary, Lord Stamfordham, feared an uprising against the monarchy.
The king soon urged the government to rescind the offer, leaving him open to claims that he abandoned his family for politics. “I think he’s been scapegoated for too long,” says Helen Rappaport, author of The Race to Save the Romanovs: The Truth Behind the Secret Plans to Rescue the Russian Imperial Family, adding, “[Not to] exonerate King George, not at all. He had a role he could have played more effectively…But the chips were down and they had to choose.”
George V expressed his concern for his cousins in private letters, but he knew the situation was precarious as most Brits at the time called the former czar “Bloody Nicholas.” They also despised the German-born Alexandria just as much, as anti-German sentiment was at such a fever pitch that George V eventually changed the royal family’s name from the very German “Saxe-Coburg-Gotha” to the thoroughly British “Windsor.”
Great Britain also needed to tread lightly with the new Provisional Government in Russia; it would be a disaster for the Allies if Russia succumbed to internal pressure and withdrew from World War I.
Personally, I can't imagine not saving my cousins. The story is a horrible tragedy of innocents.

The Russian Czar was his cousin . They were like brothers . I would’ve taken them in and worried about the consequences later . there was no need to murder that family . Of course , Shay the bolsheviks did was a predictor of their brutality . The czar was clueless about how the poor were suffering , I agree . Someone needed to pull. Nicholas’’ head out of the clouds . Oh, well .i guess it was supposed to happen , just like the crucifixtion of Jesus was supposed to happen . Both events are sad events in history .

The story of the last Emperor and Empress of Russia is very sad, but also very revealing of just how much one person can love another. I believe Nicholas and Alexandra were soulmates. It was their destiny to be together and they knew it the very first time they met.
I also believe Alexandra was a very good hearted person who truly and sincerely wanted to help people. She was clearly misunderstood.
Nicholas, Alexandra and their five beautiful children will never be forgotten. Their incredible story and tragic end will continue to reverberate throughout time. May they rest in peace.

Her mother Alice was also a very progressive, was a feminist, fiercely independent, to the point that Queen Victoria would scold her in her letters to Alice. Alice also supported the Hessians as Prussia violently tried to unify Germany; that's is when she began nursing, during that war.
I find it amusing that Victoria chided her daughter Alice and admonished her that women should be publicly retiring and not take on roles of leadership, while always encouraging her eldest daughter, Vicky, the Prussian Crown Princess to try to affect more matters of Prussian policy, even as Bismarck disliked and distrusted both Vicky and Prince Albert, her father who foresaw the peaceful unification of Europe.

    What a beautifully photogenic family!!
I LOVED the photo of the Empress with her daughters!
    They were soooo exquisite........
I believe she was an excellent mother and went through a lot...
Many of the population it seems, did not like her
and I think this is unfair...she was a victim of the whole Romanov
sad saga + of the times she lived in, and I feel she tried very hard to ‘fit in’....
But lovely to note how much the soldiers loved her ❤️
when she was a Nurse .......I feel angry when I think of
our own Royal Family in those last months who refused to
give them all sanctuary (I think that’s correct) ! Lol
It’s a bitter sweet irony that although the family were all murdered
at least their remains WERE finally discovered and they
were laid to rest properly! 😢😢 in St Petersburg .....

In some ways she reminds me of Princess Alice, the Duke of Edinburgh's mother, who was also seen as a cold & aloof woman who in reality was a loving mother who did a lot to help during many battles as a nurse as well as donate to help others who were in financial need even when she didn't have a lot of money herself. Hearts of gold, concern for others and never quite knowing themselves since they pick up on the feelings of others as if they are their own feelings. No wonder the Czar was so in love with her. I just watched the film in Netflix, The last Zar, And I think this family beloved and helped each others and If they were born normal family , they would be have a happy life.
Unfortunately, They were Royal family and the time was wrong. I really sorry for them what is destiny they had... so sad and tragedy

They have been canonized. I believe May of Teck encouraged her husband to refuse the family sanctuary in the UK as their was dislike between the two women. Two of the daughters had their bones DNA analysed and were positive for Haemophilia gene.

In many of the portraits, the Empress has such a sad, faraway look sometimes. She must have suffered greatly in her life.

    • @RomanovRoyalMartyrs
      @RomanovRoyalMartyrs  Před 4 lety +6

Very true! Her suffering is something only a mother can understand, who herself has undergone (or is undergoing) the same trial. Alexandra was watching her child dying in agonizing pain, and she was feeling responsible for his condition because it was through her that the disease was transmitted to him. Imagine that! To be a mother and to know that you have transmitted a disease to your child, which kills him slowly and causes him unimaginable pain! Well... Words are poor to express this. And this is just one aspect of her tragedy! There were so many more sides to it. We refer to them in our video, but of course, only touching the tip of the iceberg. In our book, we cover this subject extensively.

In the Bible Jesus said it is hard for a rich person to get into Heaven. Alexandra was different. She was so humble and unselfish and more rich people should follow her example. Everyone should regardless of status.

It is very true! And the fact that Alexandra and her family lived so spiritually and humbly even though they were royals, makes them even more great before the eyes of God!

Wait, if she couldn't abide fake people, and could sniff them out, how was it that she was sooo easily duped by Rasputin? He lied right to her face, he went around spreading lies and rumors about her. When she was told about his behavior she insisted it was some other person impersonating him. Even when the family went to her, saying they were worried about what he was doing to the family's reputation, and they were concerned about the fact that he had been found alone in girl's bedroom. She still turned a blind eye to it all.

Reading Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert K. Massie. I am impressed and appalled by Alexandra’s meddling in politics with their Friend Rasputin influence and direction. Dismissing, appointing ministers, removing, etc. We might have to thank her for helping bringing down the monarchy. Without experience and handling an empire?!?! No doubt it didn’t work.

Jose Eduardo Tschen: You have very little or no knowledge of what you speak; you border on being an idiot. Alexandra did not ‘meddle’ to help bring down the empire. With the Tsar at the front, the very nature of Russia’s government meant she was in charge. A deeply religious woman who relied on Rasputin, as she believed an earthly agent of God, it was only natural she would rely on him to assist her in making ministerial appointments. No, it was not a wise choice but neither was for the Tsar to take control of the troops in WWI and to get involved in the war. It was just a complete tragedy by individuals who honestly thought they were orchestrating the correct course.

Whether you are a Republican or a Monarchist we can all agree that these were exceptionally good people who met the most abominable end. They may have sat atop a system that needed enourmous and radical change but to treat them in this way is one of the great crimes of the 20th Century. The more I learn about them the more admiration I have for the goodness of their lives and the more appalled I become at their treatment and that includes the Tsar and Tsarina but particularly those entirely innocent children. R.I.P.

There is a bit of Princess Dianna in her; it seems for her care of the poor/sick! If you notice there is a sadness in her eyes from a child on up...The times in photo's I see that change is when she's with her children or/and husband...Then there is an assurance of love and security of proud joy...
