Notes: This is a recording of Delta Airlines flight 2173 from Atlanta to Miami in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. This is a remake of an older video that I did last year incorporating updated scenery and the correct aircraft model (MD88).
Considerable work has been done to make the sound more realistic, so I'd advise to use your headphones when watching.
Mods: CLS MD80, FTX Global Base Pack, REX 4 Texture Direct, Active Sky Next, SkyHigh JT8D soundset and a multitude of custom sounds incorporated during post processing, Ultimate Traffic 2, KATL and KMIA sceneries.
Please rate, comment or sub. Thanks for watching! It takes quite a while to make these videos, so I'll try to keep you posted on my progress on twitter @windoseatfsx, google+ and facebook.
This video was recorded on my 2014 MacBook Pro Retina 13” (which runs FSX surprisingly well) using FS Recorder, as well as Final Cut Pro and Audacity to post-process the video and audio.
These are very early attempts at recording and rendering and I'm constantly trying to improve the process/results, so any feedback and suggestions for new flights are highly appreciated. - Hry
I still run FSX w/ Orbx / AS2016 & AS-Cloud Art. DC-10 is my study aircraft as of this writing. Love this video! The sound is awesome!
I really enjoy your videos. One thing I do is adjust the visibility to 10-20 statuate miles for realism. Thats just what I do. Great work!
Nice Video, Cool Flight, Keep up the great work 👍👍
Fantastic as always!! Well Done!
SpinFlySim267 Thank you! I appreciate it. Actually I'm not too proud of this one. The sound set still needs a lot of work, but I'll refine it in future iterations.
WindowSeatFSX Sounds great to me.
Pretty gentle landing. Nice vid!
+SamNetwork Thanks for watching!
Nice video, great job on that landing!
Amazing work!!! Keep doing what you doing everything is perfect :)
Reginald Rivera Thanks for watching and I appreciate it. I'm in the middle of redesigning the whole process to make it feel and look more realistic. There's always something to improve :-)
Good video! And a smooth happy landing!
PS: First ;)
Sick vid man!
I really enjoy watching your videos. I only hope to make mine as realistic as yours!
+Global Flier Thanks! Just keep going and I love the variety of your videos. Just look at my early work and you'll notice that I've come a long way ;-) I still believe that the audio makes the biggest difference and I spend a lot of time on it in post production.
+WindowSeatFSX Thanks for the advice! I haven't done a lot with the audio, so I'll start checking that out. I feel you on the Post Production. That takes the most time by far, but it's worth it! :-)
This is msfx
Funny, I was just on this flight in real life. You may have even done even better than the real life version.
Great video, and you have done a very good job too. :)
Bill A Thanks! The sound set still needs a lot of work, but I'll get there eventually.
***** CLS' representation of flaps 2 I guess, but I agree it looks like 15° :-) Cheers
Nice flight
Vincent Gerrits Thanks!
he added the passenger and announcer mod to 2006 it works really well
*Dear WindowSeatFSX, my name is NEONGT1.* *Ever since I have reached up-to 50+ Subscribers! I will do a special video for you; an FSX video with the help Hani Freij.*
*And I'm making sure you will get all the support from me! :)*
NEONGT1 Thanks! I appreciate it and all the best for your channel. I will make sure to check it out.
WindowSeatFSX Haha, thanks alot. ;)
WindowSeatFSX *One more thing, welcome to my partnerships. I'll be glad to see you on NEONGT1's video. ;)*
love your videos, you should do a Delta MD-90 to Atlanta From RDU!!!
Nicholas Scopoli Thanks for watching and your suggestion. I'll definitely try to do more MD flights in the future. Cheers.
You know your a cruiser when u can spot dodge island and the ships from some miles in the are 😁😁❣️❣️🌹🌹.. NCL all day
I was actually on that flight I went to Miami to get on a cruise ship.
Could you please do Houston to bogota or vise versa love your vids
What is the simulator you are using? I would like to buy one for myself and yours seems good
How do you rinder, record, and replay your flights with the wing view
where did you download that type of aircraft
Amazing channel! Like your videos and the selection of routes. How do you record them? Do you record the playback after the flight or somehow do it while flying?
TheBubno Thanks for watching. I record and replay the flight using FS Recorder v2.18. I also do quite a few changes to the FS Recorder data and do separate replays to record the video and sound.
WindowSeatFSX So to record that SFO - LHR flight you had to leave you computer running for 10+ hours?
A lot longer actually. It takes about 7 minutes to render one minute of video in FSX with FS Recorder. So it took almost 90 hrs to render the SFO-LHR flight in FSX. This is one of the reasons why I produce only one video per month at the moment.
WindowSeatFSX Wow, that's a commitment! Keep up the good work, hope to watch new videos soon (maybe with some picturesque Alaskan landscape? ;) )
Great video dude! What MD-88 is this? Just Flight?
BsoupAviation CLS
For give me if I'm asking this again but is it possible if you could do a flight with an American Airlines Airbus A300-600 with GE CF6-80C2A1 engines? I just love the unique sounds of those engines! Nice video btw :)
Donny Stubbs Hi and thanks for watching! Any suggestions are highly appreciated. I'm currently working on a piece of software that would allow me to create flights more quickly and more realistically in the future. Making these videos takes so much time that I'm unable to do more than one a month. Thus for the time being I have to ask for your patience :) Cheers.
You should do a flight from KPBI to TNCM, that would be a great flight in the PMDG 737 NGX
+Lucas “LukeBuilder29” Huezo And Also Atlanta to San Diego on Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300 and San Diego to Atlanta on Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200.
what scenery do you use for Atlanta?
I miss flying
Hello,
I know I have asked you many questions but where did you get the MD 88 and where do you get all your other planes, how do you get the Safety video into FSX, and how do you get a window view? thanks as always
deltaflyer261 You're welcome. I've collected most of the aircraft over my long FSX career, including the CLS MD80. The safety video and window view are being added in post production of the video. I don't think there's a way to get them into FSX, there are a few models that support window views though. Cheers.
Hi, I am a huge fsx fan. I would like to ask if you can sometime please do a full flight from kxna-Katl on a CRJ-200ER Delta. Thanks Joseph
How do you get the wing view? It's not default with the airplane and I have not been sure how to get it
Post production
Mannnnnn miss this ,,, mem to Atl to mia
You have the CLS MD-80, but where did you get the model version MD-88? CLS does not have an MD-88 expansion pack. I've been looking for a good MD-88 model for years but nobody sells that model. Your flap settings are not set in the correct take-off position.
Where can u download a game like this?
Could you do a virgin america flight from SFO to JFK? That would be epic!
how did you get the scenery
Ready WindowSeatFSX for your amazing flight? :)
Can u make a video with Caribbean Airlines going to Trinidad from London
lol I was wondering how you managed to avoid all camera shake until I read the description...
Mikel Manitius The realism is just fantastic
Are tou using a fmc addon? I have this aircraft as well but the fmc is limited
Charles Jennings Yes, I use vasFMC.
Oh ok ok nice thank you!
Can you do a flight from PHL to SJU
Where do you get all of your planes from?
Alex Stone I've collected most of them over a long period of time, but I try to use freeware models as much as I can, i.e. Project Airbus, TDS etc.,
I really miss those MD80`s in Europe ...
Jerry Fletcher Occasionally I get the chance to get on a MD flight out of Atlanta and it has always been such a blast. It has been a truly unique bird. Check out this video from a MD pilot, czcams.com/video/7R0CViDUBFs/video.html
WindowSeatFSX loved it! thx man ;)
can you send me the file for the cls md-80 so i could put it on to my fsx?
Oscar Hey I'm giving Sava the benefit of the doubt, as he might not know that this a payware model. Anyway, no matter what, let's just agree not to insult each other on my channel please. Thanks.
I was on a md 88 from atl to buffalo yesterday
I love that plane. One of a kind these days.
@@FSWindowSeat sadly delta is retiring them in 3 years tho
If you're a fan of the MD you should watch this video by an actual pilot. It makes you really appreciate the weirdness of this plane. czcams.com/video/7R0CViDUBFs/video.html
Great video! Yes, it certainly does take a long time to do the videos. Feel free to check out my channel! I like the mock window panes!
Eric V Thanks! I'll make sure to check out your channel!
How do you get the airports to be realistic?
KMIA payware etc - (buy scenery packs)
Thanks!
The departing terminal seems deserted for being a airport for a city the size of atlanta
Do you did this video in live?
+Top Gamers I record all of my flights in FS Recorder and replay the data set a number of times to capture the window view and sound. Cheers.
+WindowSeatFSX ok. Can i copy your idea in my videos ?
I POST AIRPLANE VIDEOS TO WINDOW YOUR AWSOME I SUBSCRIBED TO YOU AND GLOBLE FLIER YOUR BOTH AWSOME REALLY AWSOME
can I get the addons?
You should do a flight on United airlines flight 133 from Omaha to Houston.
how do you record the full flight from the wing view?
+JDev The Planespotter Hi thanks for watching. I use FS Recorder to replay and record a flight from the wing view.
WindowSeatFSX oh thanks
You're welcome. Let me know if you want to try it out yourself and need any help with FS Recorder. It can be a tricky beast :-) Cheers
+WindowSeatFSX Hi! I really want to make some videos like this but there are some parts where I am lost. I fully know how to record and replay the flight but I wonder about the audio. What should I do about that? Also, what about the Render feature? I've never really learned how to render in FsRecorder correctly
are you obsessed with delta like me
What Traffic software do you us?
Use*
Sorry if this reply is late but he is using Ultimate Traffic 2
Miner Steve ik
Where can you get the planes he uses
jetBlue382 pmdg??
where can i get it? and does it cost money?
jetBlue382 there is a freeware version of this aircraft on simviation.com, although no aircraft comes with the window view template you add that in after effects, also pmdg.com has one for around 50$ I think.
Great landing at Miami International Airport. You need to become a real commercial airline pilot because you'll make lots of good money carrying passengers all-over the world.
Icaller1915 Thanks, but I guess the best way to take the fun out of something you love is to turn it into a grinding day job ;-) I'm actually working on a piece of software that will make use of real world flight tracking data to make the flights more realistic bit.ly/1e8HzEP. It's no surprise, but I've noticed on a number of occasions that there are substantial differences between the real world and what we do in FSX.
Does your Mac get hot
SAULJRRAMOS92 There were times when I thought it'd go up in flames. Rendering a video requires a lot of computation power and when I render these videos on my Mac the CPU is running on all cylinders and the fan is going full throttle. I only have dual core CPU. Having more cores might help...
Do more la to Manchester
01:55:00
you dont need that much flaps for takeoff. 5° is good enough
Zeng Jet No, with too much flaps, it slows you down, and can lead to a stall.
+Cyranex that's right
It's usually to lift off faster but you would need to bring them up as soon as you takeoff or as he said you would stall but I don't know why he needed to do that when Atlantas runway can support 5* takeoff in an md-88
Iron Matrixs You retract the flaps once you hit V2 plus 10, usually about 20-30 seconds after takeoff. Atlanta has five runways yes, but they are not all takeoff runways. Two are takeoff runways, two are landing, and the fifth one farthest south is for both during the busy part of the day.
Drink all day. Play all night
I'm in Miami bitch!
Rens- 005 You're probally in those poor cuban areas
i hate the md88 it sucks ass my flight was hell
