For those of you who didn't know. This was a side step landing approach. So they used the ILS of one runway then side stepped to the other runway for landing. because the ILS Runway was closed for repairs. The right side landing gear struck a truck on the runway being worked on. And tragedy ensued. Rip
Interesting. I'm not saying you are wrong, but it could be a case of the Mandela effect. This is the only version I've ever heard of it, but if there does exist a different version and there is a link to it I'd love to hear it.
I've seen some fatal disasters now, when they've had a bad landing then they go up again and then they crash. Wouldn't it be better just stay on ground once you are down; stop no matter how bad it is, then just get everybody out? Regardless how rough it'd be, still better than falling and crash from high.
You need to realize something, every plane that flies will depend on one thing, regardless if theres an emergency or not. That one dependable "thing" is the Human Factor. First of, I'm a pilot, secondly we learned this in our theory so read the explanation carefully. We pilots, never know what will happen, we have to process so much information during landing like speed, height, angle, weather, objects around you etc.. We have to process this within seconds and react accordingly, however, the unexpected can ALWAYS happen, but you never know when, and how bad it'll be. When they collided with the maintenance equipment everything changed. Suddenly the aircraft lost flaps, landing gear, speed, an entire engine was destroyed, suddenly now they're banking to the right unable to control the plane. That crash lasted 20 seconds. Try to process your speed, height, objects, navigation, flying, etc... before 5 seconds so that you can take the appropriate action. Humans are not computers, we cannot process this information fast enough to take that kind of action. However, what we can do, is implement more safety procedures to make absolutely sure that the runway is cleared of obstacles, and that you're actually aiming for the right runway. As sad as these crashes are, it's also good that they happened, because we learned from them, and implemented the right procedures to handle future issues. That's why every pilot will salute other fallen pilots, regardless if it was their mistake or not. They never intended for the aircraft to crash, but we salute them because we now learned how to prevent such accident of repeating itself. They sacrificed their life so that we can learn. THAT is why aviation is also the safest method of transportation. Because we care about safety, because we implement other peoples mistakes into our procedures. I raise a toast, to the fallen pilots, join me in celebrating their life. Fair skies to you all lads, you're at home now.
They quite literally lost lift from the right wing due to damage. Trying to get it up with loss of lift is very hard. You should try it yourself and see how hard it is.
CC: -We are clear on the right...? ARE WE CLEAR ON THE RIGHT? -No, the other runway. -No this is the approach to the godd*mn left! -Yeah, climb to 8,500... And uhh... Depois do acidente, não tem como voltar para fazer diferente. De qq forma, melhor ter deixado na pista mesmo e torcido pra conseguir sair vivo do avião em chamas.

when it was aired on the news, the audio (the voices) were much more deeper than this.
I don’t know… I found this CVR by just searching for “Western Airlines flight 2605 cvr.” It might’ve been deeper because of the quality.
@@mountain_m71 it’s alright, it was just a little fact.
@@maltheartistme oh ok.

@@bubblegumxo right, either when the news aired it was because quality (as mtairways said) or, as you said could’ve been a mandela effect.
0:21 He said “THANKS CHARLI-‘’
He said "BRACE FOR IMPACT!!!!"

From God damn to Jesus Christ.
lmao, right.
Thank you for making my request.., it looks better in tfs🤞
Pretty good recreation
I can assume this took alot of time. Im trying to make one too, but I keep failing. Nice work.
The video quality literally matches the sound...!
In memory of Western Airlines flight 2605. The flight had a great crew 😔
Very interesting, I always pictured it differently. How exactly do you recreate such a thing? Does exact flight data exist?
i recreated it using the fdr and other recreations. it’s not too accurate because i flew too high after the initial impact with the vehicles.
is it possible for you to do Air Florida 90? these recreations are the best I see in TFS.
Thanks! I’ll try.
It is currently uploading.
The other guy said to the left after pilots say Charlie get up
I’m certain the FO says “we’re done!” Not “Thanks Charlie!”
