your CZcams videos helped me quite a few times on my tahoe, thank you guys so much for taking the time to show us the proper way to repair and replace parts on vehicles
My new headlights just came in todays mail. I had no clue as to what is involved in the installation of them,, but thanks to your great video I will now be able to do this. Thank you very much.
Thank you for taking the time to produce these videos. I am retired with a moderate fixed income. I have a 1992 silverado 2WD 1500. These videos save me money that I would not be able to pay someone else to fix. Again, THANK YOU so much.
@highcountrycuda Yes, There are alignment screws on top. From 20 feet away on a level surface with a wall or board in front, the headlights should be aimed straight forward. High Beam concentration should be level with the height of the bulb and low beam concentration should be 1 inch below the height of the bulb.
It's 12 below outside, too cold for mechanic. Did this myself. Also replaced broken column shift pivot mechanism bolted to steering column without taking steering wheel or airbags off. Thank you U tube and those who show us how to do it.
@isoownu Tough to diagnose virtually so I can't say for sure but If you look underneath and see the exhaust flattened out somewhere then yes fix that. Another thing I would check is the air cleaner, intake and airflow sensor for dirt or mud.
The 7mm bolts are actually 9/32". GM used that and 7/32" for all their trim and interiors for many years. Thanks for the very helpful videos. I'm going to your website now to purchase some parts for my '95 Silverado.
+David Collis Thank you for your order. If you would like to leave us a review on Google it would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to our reviews section. Have a great day! goo.gl/i5JFNY
@llib90630 Replacing the headlight assemblies is the way to go. I think you'll find the price for the pair very reasonable on our site. The lenses alone are not available.
Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on CZcams. If there's ever an issue with the fitment of any of our products we're here to assist you. Our headlights are of very good quality.
@leurseng There are two adjusting screws on top of the headlight that tun the lens up or down, and also in or out. Depending on how you turn them.Hope this helps.
The speakers I'll get to in a video soon. The high pitch noise is when you turn the key on I assume?? If yes it is your fuel pump. I'll be doing a video on that this week. Thanks, Mike
@1manowhore All of the bracketry from the different model year would need to match up to the headlight, so that you could bolt it into place. More than likely you would need to upgrade to the later style headlight. Hope this helps you out.
@MrRaff99 If there's a clip that it screws into that's turning with it. You may need to find something to apply pressure to it so that it doesn't turn, while you back the screw out.
A1 Auto always has the best videos hands down no exceptions thank you so much guys for all the hard work that goes into y'all's videos y'all have saved me thousands I'm sure
@odelldean10 There are two adjusting screws on top of the headlight that tun the lens up or down, and also in or out. Depending on how you turn them.Hope this helps.
@griffco68 There may be some type of a fastener at the bottom of the screw that has become loose and is turning with the screw. If this is the case you may need to find something to hold that nut or fastener in place while you unscrew the screw that holds the headlight in. Hope this helps you out.
Great video, very helpful. The Haynes manual says you have to remove the grill to replace the bulbs, which I actually did the first time I had to replace one a few years ago. What a waste of time that was!
just wanted to thank you for this video. saved me alot of time and now seeing that its so easy replacing the light assembly i might just tackle that in the near future
@z71greenMACHINE i just put some HID's in on my 93 silverado, i just cant find a way to adjust them lower. the procedure is easy!!! just remove the housing as shown in the video, unplug the cable from the old light bulbs. remove old light bulbs, put in HID bulbs (be very careful not to DAMAGE the HID bulb!! dont touch the bulb part it with your bare hands and try not to bump it anywhere) plug in the stock light cable into the HID ballast, and plug in the cables from the ballast to the bulb.
Thank you so much for posting this! I've got to replace the lights on my 94 chevy pu today and didn't know where to begin. I already have the replacement light. Thanks again!
Awesome video, I recently replaced the headlights on a 1990 GMC Sierra. However, I am having a hard time trying to figure how to adjust the lights. Do you have any videos that would help with this for this model truck?
This video helps out a lot. Great explaining the detail I just recently replaced my 97 tahoe headlights. But I also found that it's much easlier to just un clip the front grill, towards saving more times. But the video commentary was great an useful thanks for the tips.
Thank You for the help...... I just put new Nighthawk Platinum bulbs in my 1996 Chevy Z71, im just about to go on tour and test them out....... again thanks
Your videos are great! Thank you. I really only want to change the headlight lenses on my 1999 GMC. Are there any sharks in the water if I removed the lens from the two new headlight assemblies I purchased and only installed them on the old base plates instead of taking off the grill and replacing everything? There is no damage to the lights, just very old and scratched up. Thanks in advance for your comments.
Very good vid, thanks, I just got a 98' Tahoe and the lamps need replaced. I thought those 5mm studs were for adjusting the headlight angle/direction. thanks again. dan m
You only need to remove 5 screws (not 10) from the grill to remove it - 4 at or near the top and 1 in the center of the grill. There are three clips that secure the bottom of the grill to the piece that fills the gap between the grill and the bumper. You have to remove the turn signal light assemblies to reach two of the clips. The third is in the center/bottom of the grill. Otherwise very helpful.
Hahah man I remember the first time changing lights on my truck (97 sierra) I ended up taking off the entire grill just to swap out 1 high beam bulb.. when putting it back together I learned u just needed to take out two bolts.. not my brightest moment.. get it ;)
thanx 4 the video. however i only needed to remove the top 4 screws of the grill to remove it, there were three clips on the bottom. But good info just the same
@isoownu PLease show the special tools it takes to get to those lower screws, they are at an angle and NOT removable with average dude tools. What do you use, please show and tell!!! thanks
Great video. I need some new headlights but I don't want to remove my grill to change them. Can I replace the bulbs then remove the headlights from the new kit and replave them on the old harness? Please respond.
Same thing just happened to me today. The outer screws came out because they always got a shot of chassis oil, but the inners just spin. Looks like some kind of brass insert there, in the headlight assembly? I don't think it's just one of those flat body nuts.
...all right guys... I have 1998 Suburban...trying to replace the head lamps and those cute little rods do not come out... they spin... but I cannot get them out... even using the pry up and turn trick... just how hosed am I ?... Dave
Hey man, i really dont know how to word this put i'll try the best i can. Allrite i have a 93' k1500 stepside reguler cab. i took it mudding thinking it wouldn't hurt it, i got it mixed up the 4x4 is the one without skidplates, the truck wont idle in touch and go traffic. but it dosn't have a problem when its accelerating. my guess is a exhaust problem but its not the only thing we put some gas cleaner in it, no work, put somekind of cleaner in the oil pan , (mechanic did that) nothing,.
anything else holding these in. took out the 5 mm studs like you said but light will only pop out about an inch or so. any ideas ??? Update. unfortunately the last person to work on my truck did not replace the passanger side lens assembly correctly and it is now hopelessly hung up on the grill. I ended up removing the marker light below and had just enough room to get the new bulb in. Thanks for your instructions as they worked like a charm on drivers side...

Then again, in a little bit they will turn back on. When they are off, my dash interior lights are also off but, I still can use my blinkers and 4-way flashers. So, when my lights suddenly turn off, I use my 4-ways to intermittently see the road until they come back on haha. I have replaced the entire assembly, fuses, and switch to no avail. It's gotta be a loose wire somewhere ya? Infuriating! I think my choices are to either wire the headlights directly to the battery with a switch, or idk? Searching for a loose wire in all that chaos looks very intimidating. Is there an entire harness that can be replaced? The loose wire seems to be somewhere between the switch and somewhere before the wiring is split going out to the 2 headlights. Any ideas? 🤨
I am trying to remove the two long screws that hold the front of the headlight assembly in. I think you call them 5mm studs. ony the outside screw of each light comes out. the inside ones just keep turning and turning and won't come loose. Any suggestions? I don't want to remove the grill as I have a huge brush bar on front. Any help would be appreciated.
@highcountrycuda Hi, I was wondering if I just change the headlight bulbs do I have to readjust the headlights? Ordered a door handle from you and watched the video for help. Thanks
are the headlight wire hook ups on an 89 chevy truck the same as on a 92 chevy truck? just got new headlamps for my 89 chevy and it says 92-98 but says also fits the 89 models
Thanks for the perfect solution to what I am trying to do! I will check back with you guys, is your website 1aauto.com ? right? Thanks a bunch, I think I can replace them now!
Hey, I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado, with the same headlight just like the suburban that you're working on. For some reason, I just can't find where the headlight adjustment are at. Can you tell me where it is.
In this video the headlights were replaced. The parking lights were removed to take the grille off and were put back in after the install. +Cagapalos Of Sac

@chevys1500 Yes you are correct. You can just unclip the bottom. The way I show is just easier to translate on camera.
@Dansz71sierra You only need to remove the grill if you want to replace the entire assembly with the mounting plate.
@odelldean10 There are two adjusting screws on top of the headlight that tun the lens up or down, and also in or out. Depending on how you turn them.Hope this helps.
@johanslammeat You need to remove the grill to access the two 1/2" nuts that hold them onto the backside of the grill.
@griffco68 There may be some type of a fastener at the bottom of the screw that has become loose and is turning with the screw. If this is the case you may need to find something to hold that nut or fastener in place while you unscrew the screw that holds the headlight in. Hope this helps you out.
@highcountrycuda If you just change the headlight bulb, you do not need to adjust the headlight.
@BigDog1101116 These lights are fused together, so you really can't separate the two. You would have to replace the whole headlight.
Great video, very helpful. The Haynes manual says you have to remove the grill to replace the bulbs, which I actually did the first time I had to replace one a few years ago. What a waste of time that was!

thankx for the video...anytime i need something for my 93', i come watch yall's video...much love to the chevy family!
@realitysetinful At the current time we do not have a video on that particular vehicle.
There may be a couple of bolts on the back of the grill that hold it in place.
No problem. That is the idea. We'll keep creating these, let us know if there is an installation you or your friends are looking for.
Thank you so much guys. Finally a comprehensive headlight video for my 1999 Tahoe👍👍👍
GM used the same headlights for a number of years. The side markets and turn signals they changed over time.
The mounting points may be different on the back. They could interchange, it's not something that we've tried.
Thank you sir. This will really help when I go to replace my headlight assembly and install my HIDs!

@wa5t3dy0u7h You would have to check with the manufacturer of the HID kit. There may be some modifications that need to be done to the original parts.
@skitenvt Those 5mm are adjusting screws you do not remove them.
