I have this revolver and it has been a great gun. I wanted a more concealing grip for less printing and found the wood pacmyer renegrade grips are great!

'Nice review. I've had an equally-good experience with my 856 Exec. I found the Altamont walnut grip somewhat slippery; I applied a clear, half-inch wide, anti-slip tape strip to the back of the grip, which solves that issue. I went to the Taurus USA website yesterday, and it no longer showed this model, while still showing the Exec Grade Judge, so ours may be kind of a limited edition item.

There is a broken link on their website but if you look at the top bar menu that goes across the screen, there's a section called "Executive Grade" that lists this, the judge, and their .357 in executive grade.

i wish taurus would make this exact model in a 2" as well. A high polished snubby would also be cool. Currently I have this and a regular 856 2" with a spurred hammer which I plan to keep as a spare to a UL hammerless version. I dont mind the idea of carrying 2 six shooters and a speedloader.

Did you replace the front sight and if so, which brand did you replace it with?
Nice looking gun. I’m interested in their 2024 model in this lineup that has a hammer for single or double action shooting👍.

Thanks for this video. I've decided I want a .38 that has a six round capacity and right now this is at the top of the list. Love the finish, like the bobbed hammer, but I do wish it was a proper snub nose. Might get one and then get it some Altamont Boot Grips for it! Well see. Thanks again. oh, ps - did you ever see that .357 executive grade they made?

Its a great gun! It really drove it home for me that Taurus can make a really nice wheelgun when they want to. I did see that they're doing a 605 Executive Grade with a spurred hammer and a 3 inch barrel....I'm looking to get one of those in for review when they drop! I definitely agree that they should to snubby versions of these...maybe with enough sales they'll expand the line. Thanks for watching!

Do you have any “higher end” brands to compare this with (Colt, S&W)? If so, what are your thoughts on that? Price vs quality / reliability

Currently, I do not. I'm very new to revolvers in general, but I'm hoping to get into the "higher end" models a bit more in the future. Thanks for watching!

My god, the engraving on the side of the frame is hideous!
