Stunning again Rob
It’s nice to see that there are people in this world who realise that they are going to struggle to do a project vehicle, and pass it on to guys like your selves, there are far too many great classics being left to rot or being looked at through rose tinted specs. Thanks for saving the RS Turbos and the continued Rob and Chris 👍🏻
Easy to strip a car ....hard to put it back together
especially when you have up to 16 years to forget how it goes back together 🤣
@danpost55 so many times has that happen with a build but you learn the hard way well I did😂👍
Rob and Chris on a two man mission to get the mk4 escort rs turbo off the endangered list
Stop worrying about time lapsing so much Rob, we don’t mind. As long as we get to see it all! 👍🏻
So glad to hear that this is going to be left and happy to hear other projects like the Viva, LSE, Campervan & Mk1 golf getting a shout out.
Thanks as always
558 comments today so far. That's a fair bit of work there, jacking point covers in my experience will be hardest to find, at least genuine ones. In fact I struggled to get them when I did all the RS cars in the mid 90s. You've brought back so many memories as it's what I did for a few years. God I want to do it again.
All the very best you guys and keep it up, your doing great.😀😀😀
For Jacking point covers find someone with a 3D printer
Amazing how you keep finding these projects. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Love this channel Rob. My uncle who is just down the road from you in Whitstable restores classic bikes he's now all over this channel too
Another brilliant video rob. Going through it it’s a gold mine of parts. Would love to see this put together
So excited with this
I love that you are doing modern classics regularly at the minute. 10/10 for great content👍
This car has gone to the right place Chris will bring this car back to life looking forward to seeing the video’s 👍🏻
I don't think Chris wants to do it
fix it chris! poor bloke ha lol 😕
Both pairs of hands needed for sure, Robs expertise will count too.
@@sruk he can take his time and do it.
it’s only getting more rare and expensive day by day.
@@sruk I wish I still had my garage....I'd love to take it on 😕
I remember having to plate up the inner wing beside the battery tray on my Mk4 shape Orion Ghia, and that was 20+ years ago
Definitely worth putting away for a future build I know you have a lot of other projects but if you have the storage this would be a great set of video content and I think it deserves the Chris and Rob treatment save it and give it its proper rebirth even if it's a year away or more it doesn't matter it will be a belter it's been sat since before 2005 waiting for the rescue and now it's home cheers
What a nice find and surprisingly has hardly any rust on what I can see already, also I think the reason those wheel arches r cut is probably due to rust underneath the body kit.
It's great when things like that happen. I'd love to see you repair this one too but fully understand that you have a lot on the go. Hopefully with all the doubled up parts from this Escort it might help you along with the restoration of the other. As a bonus, it has the white bonnet vents too. Great work guys.
Chris and u will do A great job we don’t care how long we have to wait for the video but plz keep it love to see the content
These were my dream cars but l could only just stretch to an XR3i
It's lovely to see how much you care about every single one of your projects just marvellous
Thank you thumbs up again 👍
Brilliant video lads, another great project to have for when you're ready. Look forward to the vids 👍👍
You need a second life time to do everything you want sometimes Rob. Even if you don't build it, cheers for sharing it with us.
Brilliant video guys, can’t wait to see this car being completed, till the next one guys, take care 👍🇬🇧
Its always a tough decision when you got a few projects on the go as you stated weather you flip it or put it away to fix love to see you do a mark one Mexico love this channel really brightens my day thanks for always making great entertainment Rob & Chris 👍👍
Thanks Chris, Probably not a MK1 but Chris wants to find a MK 2 to fit his BDA engine into.
@@sruk that would be amazing
@@sruk 14:40 Thank God you said that, I was cringing at the thought of that green mould sitting their beneath the underlay. No point Rob in doing half a job mate, well done for doing the job properly.
Nice to.see them being saved, there is a 85 series 1 sitting under a tree next to me in Yorkshire rotting away
Really?
@@sruk you should buy it haha
Your becoming the go to place for RS Escorts! Difficult whether to keep or let it go. Love to see you guys do both of them but so depends on time. Thing is these are only going up in value whether complete or a project so hanging on to it won’t lose you money. Loving the content guys, my go to CZcams channel at the mo! 👍
Bloody hell Rob, I wish there were leads to cars like that up here in Aberdeenshire but its all tractors that are in the barns. You are deffinetley reliving your youth with these RS's. Keep up the good work and please keep the videos coming.
Rob & Chris re living their youth!!!
Well done guys, hope you can bring this back to life.
This channel just gets better and better, don't know what's comming next!! Love it !!!
Such a great idea Rob in fitting a lot of the parts which makes storage so much easier, will be a great project.
Well done gents for yet another great video!!
How much difference it makes putting those bits on,a good selling point.
Respect,Dave in sunny Norfolk.
You guys are fast becoming a cult following here. Superb content and tick the right boxes for many enthusiasts. Keep it up.
I know it’s a lot of welding, but you two guys are the best for this car 👍, I am sure the rest of you’re subscribers would love to see this come back to life 👍
Like buses, you wait ages, then two come along at the same time lol!
Got your work cut out there boys!
Great words of wisdom there Rob, the best way to store the parts are bolted back into the car !!
Just a shame you haven’t got a Mk3 RS Turbo :)
I think Rob likes these classic fords guys
Bringing the subs in 👍🏻
Everyone loves an old Ford right??
@@lukecowell7516 Absolutely!
@@dannycoultas265 And more to come !
Classic Ford's =money
Where to even begin. This is go be a great project to see through.
I don't think I will be able to talk Chris into this one!
@@sruk Way too much welding for him there Rob, it's a pity you can't get hold of a shell and re shell it
How lucky is it that you've got the other one you can take to bits for spares for this one Rob? And the same colour. Thats amazing.
absolute madness, an RS Turbo each, blindin' work
When you hit a million subscribers you won’t have enough time to like and reply to as many comments but hats off for doing it still now at 200k subs
Who would have thought it, from the first few videos not even being recorded the right way up to now hitting big numbers 👍🏻
P.s the way you say “yourself” / “ourselfs” / up for “sell” gets me everytime, keep it up rob it’s genuinely great content 😃
All the time I can keep up I’ll continue to 👍
Well if you two don't have the time someone will bite your hand off. What I love is there are so many people trying to restore and keep these iconic cars going. Another great video 👍
It’s a shame u might not do this car ,would love to see them both fully restored and maybe the salvage team race 😂
What ever happens I’m sure it will benefit the Chanel
Great once again guys 👍
If only you boys had a mint red shell to swap everything on to.. 🥺
Cracking vid as always
The only videos I 'like' before I watch. Satisfaction guaranteed with these chaps.
Love it ! Plenty of content for the future nice one guys 👍🏻👍🏻
13:31 have you been towing it sideways Rob??? hahaha
I can't even bring myself to put on here how much I let my grey '88 Rs Turbo for in 1999, it's criminal lol, total hats off to you guys for getting these really cool cars, yes I keep looking on eBay etc for another one but some are eye watering ! Good luck guys, love it !!
Really looking forward to the finished product..👍
When you built it up it looked quite good !
It ke-jetronic & I’ve rear anti roll bars & the abs linkage but these filler necks are getting a bit rare. 👍
Brilliant, love classic ford's. Looking forward to this journey 😀
Strike while the irons hot! If it was me I would keep it and do it up in the end. Perhaps you could even keep one in the end Rob? Don't get me wrong I know you guys do this for a living and time and space is money. Whatever you do good luck to you both 😊
Hi Rob and Chris, guys 2 x RS Turbo's... proper jealous..!!! Great content if it stays or goes. Cheers, Alex.
Wow another rare classic to look forward to seeing featured on the channel❤️.
These S2 Turbos really are playing with my emotions...It's the car i wanted but couldn't afford when i was 19.....Now i really wouldn't pay what they are fetching but i could now afford a project but know i will never find time to do it......
This car is in rough shape but looks like everything is there to restore it. Seems like white was a popular colour for RS turbos
I used to have a fiesta rs turbo...loved it wish I never sold it 😔...
Whats more interesting for me is what that old private plate transfer went onto Proton Satria GTi ?
Looks like it’s got good bones wouldn’t take much to do a light restoration on keep it all standard and original even down to wiring up the standard stereo and the graphic equaliser just looks proper period correct ..
Love the content 🤛🏻
Wish I had the time, money and resources to do this kind of thing! Do love an RS turbo 😍
Battery tray ,arches under the kit and rear chassis rails are the most common points for rot ..Gotta love an RS turbo 😍😍
Another nice find Rob, 89 was the change over year so quite a few had the 90 spec seats but not the bumper or spoiler.
I don’t remember he graphic at all I don’t think that was from the factory
Looks like the body stripes off an RS1600i?
Another time capsule, with very few bits missing. Store for a future date for me, love to see these iconic old Fords being rescued. We have a feast of content ahead of us, Golf, RR, RS Turbo - wow 🤩
I love this channel! I know you have a lot of projects but I would really love to see you both restore this!
Tuck it away until you get the Rangy done!
Would be cool to see it from how it is now to completely done!!
Yes mate, but a total strip and rebuild like chris has has done to the viva every nut and bolt the car would be worth a small fortune when finished. They have the ability!!
Hope you are both staying safe and well
Great find lads👍
One for Chris.. one for rob !!😃
Can’t wait to see the RS Turbo brought back to life. I own a series 2 I have had it from new 21st August 1987. 56700 miles.
Very nice 👍
Think you're right Rob. You've already got several long term projects on the go, so I'd move it on. Great find though...
Looks well realistic to be put back into good order whether that is by yourselves or someone else. So many of the more modern cars will never last the test of time simply due to electronic complexity that these will be the real classics of the future.
TWINS!!!! You've got twins!!!! And they'll be a very good looking pair of automotive twins when you 2 finish with them.
If anyone else put this video up I would have said use the parts and scrap it ..
But this is SR-UK .....the level of craftsmanship you guys have ...you will get this RS back on the road
Thanks Bud but as Rob said in the video we won't be doing much more on this one
@@sruk it's a shame,I'd pay to see you guys restore that 👌👌
Rob, the interior is wrong as is the rear spoiler for an 88 car. The seats should be a very dark drey with a red fleck. Late 90 was the change over year where 90 and 91 cars had different front bumper, interior, rear spoiler and exhaust. There was also a few other non cosmetic changes but nothing major. Hope that helps. I would guess the arches we cut as they rot behind the body kit and Ford did repair panels.
Hello Rob and Chris.
Another good find, if you don’t want it someone will snap your hands off.
Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged
Personally I would love to see it restored on the channel if you can possibly wait and store it until some of the other projects are done rather than sold on.
Nice find Rob and Chris. I’m tempted by this one but I’ve got the knowledge just lack the skill! It’ll make a lovely project for someone. Looking forward to a Range Rover vid but I know you guys are busy. It’ll be worth the wait I’m sure. You guys do put out good content 👍
Great video again lads they will look fantastic when they r finished
cleva placement of the dustbin hiding the LSE back tyre lol, still nice to hear a mention about it :o)
I thought of the red escort with all the bits before you said it 😂😂
Some lovely ford's lads, the sierra cosworth, I would have loved to see that being put back to new, big following on the classic SAAB, would you ever consider getting one of those into the workshop?
Great videos 👍
An ideal candidate for a flip. Potential buyers can see that nearly all the important components are present and correct, so not too much to find. You rightly say, this is another long term job elsewise and the pay cheque would be a long time coming!
That reg plate FKN what Chris said about the welding 🤣🤣🤣
First comment I've seen with reference to the FKN , sadly f980, 1980 f***ing doesn't work lol
looks like you have struck gold looks such a solid car and a bit of a monkey puzzle to put back together. Great to see another RS that is not being messed about with. Your channel is the best still hoping for a Vauxhall Nova project to the channel.
keep it as a long term project to do once you have a bit of time, if you sell it now, in a few year time, you might well be kicking yourself, because the price will only go up , If it were me, i would store it, keep an eye on what you need, get it as you can, and say in a years time, or once you have finished the larger projects, that will be the time to start it.
Thats not a bad shell at all and that interior looks mint for the age of the car. If my memory serves me right I'm sure the D,reg mk4's rusted out much more than the other years. I'm sure someone said back in the day the D reg shells were made with different metal but don't take that as 100% as its been years lol
I hope no one buys it off you really Rob.
Would love to see this come together on your channel.
Great work again guys, it's lovely to see these old greats being saved
Sweet, a huge kit to build, minus the stench of polystyrene glue and the faff of waterslide decals. Crack on gents, this is going to consume more than a few evenings work 💯😉👍🏻
Nice project for someone. Can't believe shes not rotten .I was doing the arches and bulkheads before the first MOT when i worked for a Ford dealer.👍
No wonder these are so rare, you've got them all!
Lol
Rob please don’t sell it just park it up for abit it will be worth it in the end especially now you have two to play with…..always enjoy your videos 👍🏻🙂
This is great wat a CZcams channel . love the old school ford's . keep doing ford's please 🙏
Thanks Rob and chris really enjoyed watching the video cant wait for the next one
90 spec were on some G plates and all H plates and that’s the interior you have mate. 88 spec were dark grey and red. And the front bumper and spoiler were different
This is getting sold as a car and parts package... I can feel it in my waters
Yeah, deja vu.
You two are a pair of car magpies😅 I can't believe 2 rare fords have come along like this. Definitely a good project package to move on & I'm sure there'll be taker's queueing up for the chance.
Brilliant as always guys❤️it👍
The towing eye being on the side skirt is a new one on me 🤔😉😂👍
Very long day 🤦🏻♂️
@@sruk I know the feeling 🙂
Wow another one, even the parts you want for the other one.Enjoyed the first rs .Really looking forward to seeing this one.well done
A mate bought a Series Two from new. He thought it rattled a bit and seemed noisy when driving it. He took it to a mates garage and they put it on a ramp. There were many screws missing from the bodykit which was loose. There were a few things that he had to put right (on a new car) and they called it a Friday afternoon car, meaning the workers couldn't be bothered as they were finishing for the weekend.
The biggest surprise was written in yellow wax chalk on the sump- 'not fit for export'!
Cant believe u got another one, wots the odds ov that happening, yep lads finish wot yous have started and then maybe hav a go at this one in the future, or like u say take a quick profit and move it on, and rob i think late 89’s to 91 were the light grey trim which is correct for ur ones, earlier S2 turbos had the charcoal grey trim, lovely motors enjoyed watching again nice one lads 👍👍
Great video again boys nice to see the other side of rebuild , Fancy finding two Turbo’s .Has Chris found any hens teeth at the Farm.Looking forward to all the future episodes from the boys who can.👍🇬🇧.London Paul.
I think you'd be crazy to let this go as a project. I can see you making a superb job of it, and making some serious money. Great video as always guys.
For a minute I thought we were going to get a RS Turbo build off. Chris v Rob 😆😆. Chris you need to get Rob signed up to the local college for welding classes. Another belting video, cheers lads 👍
Rob that will be a great project and worth a lot of money once it's done and it will make fantastic content for your channel 👍👍
Great find Rob & Chris,it would be nice if you could keep this one & finish it of like the other RS,like you said they don't come along to often, it's a tuff one as you have got other project to finish, look forwards to the next one.
Go for the quick sale mate, this'll do Chris in 😮
