This song, no song has honestly ever scared me more in my life. The knowledge behind the tune just gives me the feeling that something so pure could never be settled, and it’s as if there is something that is lurking that will not let it rest. The nostalgia on the game somehow gives me these memories I should not feel.
That's nice honey but I've asked you to take out the trash hours ago and I'm starting to get worried about how you spend all day playing games instead of making friends.
Almost ten years later, and this damnable box still gives me chills every time I hear it. The tune of a story with so many possibilities. So many choices to make, with the biggest choice of them all; Who will you become, Little Sparrow?
This comment gave me chills ugh. The song never gets old for us. We have so much love for this game. (us being all of us fans here in the comment section lamenting.)
Reminds me of a time when I really immersed myself in the stories of games truly made me feel like I was living my very own fable not many games can do that for me anymore and I will always remember the feels from these great games
Maybe its because we grew up... or maybe its because game companies really have regressed this far. I can only think of one company that really held their quality in storytelling. Fromsoft
There are two words, admittedly repeated that spark an entire game. That lead into an entire game's worth of story, of lore, of history and more. Whatever you decide, whatever weapon, whatever equipment, whatever alignment or decisions you choose... It is all started by these words, and this music box... "I wish... I wish..."
To think that those 5 gold coins started this whole thing. Little Sparrows sister dying, the character becoming a hero/villain, meeting Hammer, Garth, and Reaver. It's extraordinary, really. Money does change everything.
Have you ever wondered if Rose was the fourth? Maybe she was the one meant to be, but it just so happened that SHE happened to be killed that night in the tower, instead of Sparrow. Remember, both of their blood light, or whatever, showed up blue. Maybe they both had the potential to become the fourth.
Rose wouldn't have been the fourth. Sparrow activated the music box, which, based on the reaction of Lucien was something only a person with the blood of a hero could do. Though Theresa(It's spelled this way right?) looked as if she was talking to Rose about the music box, the statement was directed towards Sparrow. Theresa is blind to the real world, but she is a seer, thus seeing into other worlds or the future. She could see Sparrow growing up into the hero, not Rose. In the loading sequences, it states 'A hero can survive a falls that would shatter the bones of most people'. When Lucien shot sparrow out of the window, she crashed into a roof, which, should have killed her, but it didn't. As for both of them being the fourth, well, it depends if Rose was really related to Sparrow. If not, then Sparrow was most definitely the only candidate for the fourth hero, if yes, then while possible, traits between siblings don't split evenly. While it's a interesting look, to see if Rose would have actually been the Hero isn't possible, it's a good theory and I applaud you.
@@personanerd8933 I think it had more to do with her dying too easily. All she got was a bullet. Sparrow got shot, was pushed out a window several stories down and smacked his head before finally reaching the ground, yet he was clearly still alive. Either only he had the potential, or the music box activated only his potential
I'm not an emotional guy but the beginning ripped my heart out of my chest and that dream sequence didn't help either. The reason for this is it attacked both of my weak spots, Little kids getting hurt and girls getting hurt; and they immediately took a little girl that was always hopeful even though having a terrible life and fucking shot her when she believed all their struggles were over. Fucked up...
I choose sacrifice cuz I get dog dead but if you have dlc meh ( I don't )sister alive nice if I could actually interact with her also I didn't have a wife as I wanted lady grey to live of course
Fable is my life, it helped me get through the bad times and taught me valuable lessons on how to live. Now I'm replaying them starting with fable 3 and going backwards... waiting for fable IV... Fable 2 was always my favorite but I always play them in the same order I did when I was introduced to them by my Dad. I'm 14 and thus game series has been my guiding light.
the feeling of having a guardian angel is there watching you to protect you yet someone or something is lurking around the shadows that seems far more stronger then them
Now that Lionhead is closed, this song means so much more to me, other than nostalgia and melancholy, it represents a hope and a dream, that is slowly dying and fading away. I guess death is our destiny after all, little sparrow.
BlamedArtist91 Definitely not, Lionhead Studios isn’t closed, but definitely failed horribly with Fable Three, which in my mind had an okay story, just bad dlc. Multiplayer was fun tho. They have to rebuild until they can restore their games.
The entire time I played this game, I went down the path that would turn you into a demon, but things like Rose's diary, her letter, and my dog were things that I would be kind to and refuse to give away. I also kept the name sparrow even though all the other names sounded cooler. I just felt like the character would hate me if I changed those things
With my favourite character I went full evil to get those devil horns, then spent a long time redeeming myself and going full good. Devils horns with a halo was a look dyed everything white and gold too... SO. GOOD. How has nothing improved on fable after all these years? The customisation and the impact you have on the game world.
I played this game so much I did everything that you can possibly do but that was then now it's just a memory of those great day's that I can never relive
First time I played the game through WARNING SPOILERS! When your sister dies in the beginning this song played before that, near the end you follow the music to the music box in the dream world, and your sister screams NOOO! like when she died and disappears for good, everytime I hear this or play through the game, this is what I remember.
I used to think this music box was constructed with dark magic because how the end is kind of spooky and almost evil sounding. It feels like this box has the power to bring back your worst nightmare or memory but make it feel so real that you are unaware it is not reality.
I agree completely, I also feel like there's more to the music box than the game etc lets on. Like it has a dark and mysterious past. Just like this theme, I love it.
30 years playing video games and this music is still the best for me. It can make me feel safe and warm on a cold dark night.i miss lion head studios they weren't great but they gave us fable so thank you X X X X x
I didn’t realize how similar this was to the Oakvale theme until I trued to learn them both on the piano, the notes you play are almost completely different but the tune sounds the same...
It’s been so long since I played this game now but looking back on it, it’s one of the best stories I’ve experienced in a game, if not one of the most depressing
I loved the Fable games growing up but 2 was by far the best. I hope in the new Fable game there is an Easter egg where you can stumble across the music box in the middle of the woods just creepily playing. That'd be awesome.
My favorite videogame of all times, I still play it once in a while, a master piece that marked me for life and gave/gives me a lot of good experiences and ideas :") I will always be in love whit this great story and that amazing world.
This song gives me chills even now. It shows what knowledge Is hidden behind the magic. It opens up more questions.... Who Will you be Little Sparrow? Who Will be the Hero of our tale? It gives me Memories I don't even have.
I've always found this song beautiful and loved the note chimes, it was my favorite sound to listen to in fable because it sets the tune of the game of how it has funny moments, dark moments, and sad moments. It also gives me the vibe of mystery and uncertainty which I love. I dont listen to music much, but this song is possibly the best song I have ever listen to.
This game acted as my parents, since both weren't very positive figures in my life. It taught me one thing, above everything else in school which has lingered until me today, coming upto my 20th birthday. Be a hero..
i still hear this song while i sleep now looking in the past i have always thought that this music was soothing until all found out about the 3 game just the upbeat version and all the death if had with it
I'm a children these days ( I think 😓) and I like the fable games °^° my dad used to play them back when they came out and he had me watching him play since I could comrpehend what a video game even was ( I was like 4 )
I played this at around 2009 when I was about 7 and it basically was the game that I played until my teenage years. Now I'm introducing my sisters (one 10 and one 5) to the series the same way I did. I let them play fable 2 then I let them play 3. Then finally 1
+Bazzbazeman The ending went something like this for me Lucius:Blah blah blah HEROES blah blah blah DEAD WIFE blah blah blah ANCIENT POWER blah blah blah Heroe- *Reaver shoots Lucius* Reaver:I'm sorry, did you want to kill him? You were taking forever after all...
I wish you could see Rose in the end of the game after picking the 'Love' option. Never being able to see her again not even in Fable 3 is the only thing that I didn't like about the game.
I recently replayed this game, and did a lot of fun things, this was the complete play-through I decided to do. 1st: Pure Childhood, doing good to everyone. Getting the Music Box. 2nd: Rose says "I wish, I wish" But its Sparrow who can make that wish come true, and Sparrow desired a pure outcome, for their sister to be free of the damnable cold, and of that creep who harasses her. **Wish is granted, but in the darkest way possible** 3rd: Seeing something as a child's wish become so dark and corruptible, Sparrow snaps, in the ten years of recovery, and becomes evil outright. Desiring nothing but absolute revenge for his sister's death, and to do so in the most efficient (Evil) way possible. 4th: Seeing the true horror in the Spire, Sparrow repents his evil nature. Defiance of the Commandant shattered what remained of the devil inside him. His actions had turned the world, a world innocent to him, into a place that suffered. Their wishes gone... 5th: Sparrow gives up his fortunes, amassed with his evil deeds, to the public he wronged. 6th: The Sparrow finally embraces the hero's way, and gives up his physical body for the safety of others. 7th: He does not kill Lucien...There is no more anger inside the broken hero who lost everything. 8th: Sparrow saves everyone who died in the spire's construction. Saddened to find out his sister, and dog were both excluded in that wish, Sparrow retreats from the world. Leaving no heirs. **Cause fuck Fable 3**
Then Albion was obliterated by the Crawler and his minions decades later, dooming the world. Hate Fable 3 or not, story was okay but the game could have been better.
this song is..........beautiful if my sister was shot..... I would want revenge to ......but this song just .......... puts me at ease ....... lovely :)
It sucks they used a different theme for the music box theme in fable 3 because it's not the same even when people tell me it is when both sound nothing alike
