- Andrew Jones does it again with 888 and makes a speaker that is not very expensive but plays a big sound with ease.
Also a big surprise of 2024 is the Cinnemon Dac . It has a unique design with all the boards made by the Portuguese company.

It is spelt "Cinnamon" as per the headline but not the accompanying comment from Ultimate Audio. Far more importantly, I had the opportunity to hear this DAC over three days in a very high-end system that I know very well. I have zero link to the Portuguese boutique manufacturer: Let me simply say that in my view (and I own Alsyvox speakers and have had the chance to hear six figure digital front ends over the last few years) this is the first DAC that has moved me as deeply as a top analogue front-end. And no - it's not colored - it captures the nuance, the body, the presence of real music. I urge music lovers to audition if they ever have the chance.
My dealer in Canada has one. He is bringing it over for me to listen. I wanted the Playback Design MPD-8 but way expensive. This dac is suppose to give some famous brands a run for its money. Do not want to mention which because I don't want to look like an idiot if it doesn't

At 25K, the Gryphon Diablo 333 is a lot of amp to be using on speakers at the Mofi Sourcepoint 888's price point.
Actually you could use a Audionote Ongaku at 70K and you'd have a smile 🙂
Overkill. I head the sourcepoint 10, at a store and I was not impressed. But I heard the 8s are very different.

Yes.
What way to better prove how well the speakers can perform for the $$$. Question for someone with a different budget is how expensive gear do you need to get it all out of the speakers.
@wegardfjeld3789 NAD, Benchmark or Purifi amp should be plenty for under $4k, add an Eversolo streamer pre amp and done for $10k total.
You could drive these happily with a set of SET's, pardon the whatever, and they would sound glorious or OTL's actually that would be incredible..My Alsyvox's I have Kondo amps driving them and the rest is not to be mentioned after the latest controversy..I'll be getting rid of said dac and transport asap!!
Sounds like an Electronic representation of what a human voice sounds like. It doesn’t sound human… More robotic.
