These speakers are superb sounding. It is not possible to hear in a video how accurate the time alignment these drivers are. You sit, you hear. Without effort, for the first time, I heard balanced rich sound reach my ears at the same time. The 10 inch base driver is way better than any dual 6” or similar configuration. They appear simple in design, but the sound is shockingly easy to hear and enjoy.
I alway think this is how a KEF should sound but never seem to get there?
Finally ... speakers being tested on some half decent music
Wow! 😲 Super! 👍👍👍
Yeah I am so in on these speakers, they are next level.
A typical low sensitivity driver (a bit higher than usual). A lot of bass, lack of dynamics. Is R3 better or worse? Who knows. About a same.
@@sc0or When you say lack of dynamics, can you explain what you mean? Would that be lack of separation of the music.
@@sparkplug964 For me the "dynamics" sound like how good a driver can play a loud note just after some echo or a singer breath. If one of them is scarified, that's not a good driver for me. A sound sounds compressed. To be a good driver it needs to have a sensitivity about 100dB/1W plus. First, you'll clear hear a breath after a bang, and secondly you'll be able to use even your A/B amplifier in A-class mode all the time. Win-win
Wow !!!!!!!!
Sounds much bigger than lifesize. Need more musical variety to accurately assess.
Damn, son!
what microphones are you using?
Dear David,
This one was with IPhone 14.
All the best
Miguel
What are the dimensions of your room?
Hello! 42 Sqm
Thank you
Miguel
The mids seem recessed.
Its a phenomenon i've often found with coaxial speakers like this, every pair i ever heard had an issue in the presence region. I've tried three pairs of tannoys and a couple of pairs of KEF's and I can never get quite past the upper mids being somehow pulled back. I switched to Harbeths and I've been much happier.
Though, in this case, it could just be the recording, he's only using an iphone mic to record it, so that won't be helping.
Yes, but it also could be my Iphone 😂
@@Freedom89984 No. it's the coaxial design which has notable compromises in preventing the woofer from performing to its best and also limits tweeter dispersion. The smarter design choice is made by brands like Dynaudio which place the tweeter and woofer close enough to provided sharp imaging, while also giving the woofer free reign to produce a rich midrange.
the electronics play an important role Using tubes the mids will pop out almost surely
some solid state amps tend to sound flat and hard expecially in the midrange
@@gino3286hello,we at Ultimate audio have thse speakers runing with Luxman 507 andthe 509z and Luxman are very open and clear on the midrange and top end, nevertheless they are more "neutral" and laid back in the mids than for example the Accuphase 4000,wich is more full in the mids and midbass.
