- Tim Burton's Batman debut in 1989 and it set the groundwork of what a comic book movie is. The collaboration between TCG Entertainment with Warner Brothers and DC is touring to bring the movie's upcoming 35th anniversary with a live symphony.
Note: Credits to the original composer, Danny Elfman, of the OG songs that's portray in this video.
In this video, I am only portraying the most iconic scenes (according to me) of the concert. Majority is basically the actual movie.

There’s no better Batman theme than the one Danny Elfman composed, it’s still used in animated projects from time to time.
Agreed. The first time I watched it in 1989, it felt like the perfect Dark Knight theme.

Bravo man! You captured such precious moments! and sound you got on this recording was really well spot on. I sat with a friend in the parterre right that night and noticed at times the sound seemed a bit low which was strange but towards the intermission it got better. Those ushers really were monitoring around too.

i agree. i thought val khilmer did a good job as batman.
Batman Forever was meant to be dark like the last 2 ones , but Warner wanted it to be chessy and then Keaton didnt like it the direction this movie was taking. Kilmer was really good but the screenplay was lame. @@biglong714

There's a similar thing at classical concerts. Audiences generally understand that you don't clap between movements. But at the end...
Say you attend a performance of Mahler's 9th symphony. The piece ends, and if you're like me, that's a moment to sit and contemplate what you've just heard.
But fuck that. Before the echo has a chance to die out, people are standing and applauding, some are moving to the aisle so they can leave, the whole mood is destroyed.
Every film concert that I’ve gone to the conductor encourages the audience to clap and cheer for their favorite moments and characters at the start of every show

Having little-to-no sound fx during giant parts of the movie hurt the experience a bit, but it was still enjoyable.

@@biglong714 No. We don't do that here in the UK. Keep your gob shut during the movie. I saw this on release here in '89 - yes there was laughter at the Joker's antics, but that's fine. Constant whooping and hollering because somehow you're had too much stimulants will get you thrown out. We'll show our appreciation at the end thanks, if necessary or earned.

So I have tickets for this in Atlanta next Friday. I didn’t know they were going to play the dialogue and sound effects of the movie. I was under the impression we would hear the orchestra isolated. Did you find the dialogue and the sfx distracting?
There were extra dialogue that were added since some parts are cut off in order for the orchestra. That’s what I thought when I saw The Batman in concert…but it’s actually the movie with a live orchestra. So I knew the movie is going to be playing but it’s my favorite live action Batman movie
Not much of a distraction, as the music took precedence when I saw Star Wars 4-6. It works very well. The near constant whooping and cheering is more distracting. Yes, cheer the orchestra and Elfman's screen card but, please, beyond that, just watch the thing.
Interesting place to put the intermission when Batman says "Stop".
@@davidleavitt835 Fair enough on the sound mixing. I do hope my crowd isn’t rambunctious. I get it, we’re all excited to be here, but that’s no excuse to cover up or distract from the performance.
I imagine that’s where they place the intermission because opening up with “Descent into Mystery” in the 2nd half is a great way to hit the ground running for the rest of the show.

@@jaymichael4770 anyone who saw this movie is going to go crazy. No one can keep composure. Even if people saw the flash but didn’t know who keaton was, they remember because of his Batman performance. Even for me: the scenes I show to me is iconic.

It’s a full movie. Any parts that has music is play by the orchestra

Just got out of the performance in Atlanta. It didn’t sound half as good as yours 🙁.
It’s almost as if there was a completely different arrangement. The brass was anemic, playing style didn’t match the original score in several places, keyboards where a piano was needed etc. I felt like I was hearing an orchestra sight read instead of playing something rehearsed for weeks. I’m very jealous of your experience.

This score only deserves the finest orchestra and players and a decent conductor - it seems like there's a bit of a scam going on with this. Which is why generally I don't attend these sorts of things - unless it has REAL credentials.

Personally, I think it should be taken as a compliment to the production. It also adds something to the emotion of the theater.
I was there. It sucked. The symphony was amazing but you couldn’t hear the movie they had 2 shitty speakers and the movie sound was awful a lot of people around me were complaining. We left at intermission.
It's a concert first and foremost, not a movie screening. They put the subtitles on because the music is supposed to overpower the sound effects. I wasn't there so perhaps there were some audio difficulties but as long as the music came through you were indeed getting the intended experience.
@@lizardmanYTMND Yes there was audio problems I guess thats the downside from having the event only 1 day at the venue and not being properly prepared for it (e.g. proper sound check, equipment, etc.). You would never get that failure at The Hollywood Bowl. Anyway i got my money back.
