Star Wars just decided to do their own thing, wich is a wise choice, not doing so would throw off many Star Wars movie fans that know nothing about the comics. And that's exactly what Episode VII is, a movie, so it was better to have it connected only to the movies. Still, while the decision is smart, Episode VII wasn't, the movie was a mistake. Star Wars recently brought back Thrawn to canon, proving you wrong about them not seeing anything in the EU as "worthy".

Star Wars just decided to do their own thing, wich is a wise choice, not doing so would throw off many Star Wars movie fans that know nothing about the comics.
And that's exactly what Episode VII is, a movie, so it was better to have it connected only to the movies.
Still, while the decision is smart, Episode VII wasn't, the movie was a mistake.
Star Wars recently brought back Thrawn to canon, proving you wrong about them not seeing anything in the EU as "worthy".

No fué destruido, simplemente yá no es parte d la historia canónica.

Good at best, enjoyable, I've seen teh EU.. Butr the promotion of Luek descendance, is humhum.. O.T character are mostly licenced character that never die, (except chewbie) so at one point before they could do this. They had luke Han and leila, having a mass repopulation Tactic of the Jedi order, so they can have their own luke leila etc... An do what ever they want.
And teh cocnept of Mara Jade was super awsome, too bad she just end up as a waifu...
