Got ADHD? Trying all kinds of things that just aren't working? Could it be you're paying attention to the wrong thing-metaphorically running east to see a sunset? In this video, ADHD coach Jeff Copper (digcoaching.com) shares a dynamic that he's found in the ADHD world. People with ADHD are looking for things that are simple. They fall victim to language. Over time, they don't realize it, but they end up paying attention to the wrong thing. If you're struggling to find what works, this video is a must-see. Shift your mindset to pay attention to what you should be paying attention to.

What can we do to better simulate the future? For me that hits the point

hmm... the point of the video is... often people are not finding what they are looking for cause they are paying attention to the wrong thing.
A tip or trick is like an equation (i.e. E-MC squared). it is a great equation but won't solve for the sides of a right triange... in this case you need the pythagorean therom.
Managing ADHD is often more about solving problems (deriving an equation) not guessing at equations.

I like the idea of what you are talking about - cognitive ergonomics - but you lost me in all the talk and big words. Is there any way you could incorporate pictures of diagrams, I'm not sure, so I can follow along easier?

      Thanks for your interest.

It's difficult to articulate cognitive ergonomics, because it is conceptually different from the way most people approach ADHD.
Here is a metaphor for context. Imagine you are back in the 1920s, when an astronomer proved Einstein's general theory of relativity to be correct, basically stating that space and time occurred -- imagine trying to wrap your head around that concept. Thank God for Einstein, because it explained many anomalies that couldn't be.
Cognitive ergonomics is very similar. As I train more and more people, I'm getting better at articulating it, but it's still a challenge.
I define mindset as the way that your mind is set up to think. In order to understand this program, you basically need to let go of your conceptual understanding and rebuild the model in your head through which everything is judged. Even this is conceptually hard to understand, but required.
Thank you for reaching out. I'm not so sure this response helped, but I hope that you understand that if it was easy, it wouldn't be that different.

Surely to find a sunset you have to run east while looking west. If you run west you'll just end up in perpetual daylight.

End of the day most don't realize they are not finding what they are looking for because they are going in the wrong direction.
