Competition is actually pretty good but ofc there are also downsides
I would be interested in some of the conclusions the class came to. Obviously, whenever there is an explosion of new media (like TV when cable arrived ) there is an expansion that occurs until a breaking point and then small individual networks merge to create mega companies. Isn't this the same thing only with streaming?
I just wish classes would be more open to conversation like this. Topics including streaming, tragedy, depression, things that you wouldn't expect to talk about in class.
Like in my World Studies class, we got to talk about propaganda in modern day. Like Obama and Trump seen as Hitler, the class was asking questions for once. (Note, this class was famous for being the most quietest)

@Micah Lall-Trail I agree with this... but theres just too much competition now it's like the 90s console wars all over again
@Micah Lall-Trail True, but Netflix was already a high quality service with everything you could possibly want at a reasonable price. Now, there's not that much on there because other companies keep pulling their stuff to make their own services, which will all fail (except for Disney Plus, maybe) because Netflix only succeeded because of its wide variety. You're absolutely right, competition is good for the economy, but in this one instance, competition is actually killing a system that already worked just fine. This isn't just coming from me, by the way. My Media Arts professor will tell you pretty much exactly what Scott said in this video.
Micah Lall-Trail True but this is gonna end up like the “Dot com bubble” if this keeps going.

Oh, no, hell still uses money?
You must mean EA Access - EA Play was their joke of an E3 livestream.

Only good for people knee deep in anime. Anime is too varied to have enough stuff that an average person would want it and there aren't exclusives
@@illford6921 I am legitimately confused. Did you mean to say anime isn't varied enough? Because otherwise you just said there is a lot of different types of something so there ISN'T something for everyone... Also considering Netflix is sponsoring anime these days there definitely ARE exclusives.
@@davidpoketrainer i think he meant that there's so many types of specific anime that it would be difficult to cater to a general audience
"WE DON'T NEED THIS MANY!!!" So damn true...
you can always buy a blu ray player they are cheap
An update is so needed on Netflix 😂😂😂
Scott in 2017: Netflix is amazing
Scott in 2019: Netflix is ok
Scott now: Netflix SUCKS
My friends: comes over to my house
Also my friends: “So since it’s a movie night, do you have Netflix?”.
Me: “Did I say movie night? I meant TV night. We’re a Hulu family”.
"We're an owl pad family"
Hulu did the the fantastic "The Sisters Brothers". One of the few westerns I've enjoyed.
Streaming Services are the modern equivalent to cable channels.
ComiXProvider FTW_02 definitely this was the reason my parents dropped cable back in 2010 and just stuck with netflix. they payed like 80 month to get the channels they wanted when netflix waa only costing $8 at the time and gave you access to the rental service and streaming. now here we are 2019 and im about to be paying around $60 a month for all my streaming services
Ya and that is not good but once the streaming service implodes itself, the good ones will stand in.
@@TristanDoingGood If the one that survived is Netflix then I'm ok with it.

Funny seeing this 3 years later and how Warner merged their DC stuff into HBO Max.
Also according to my sister, because of less subscription services in Mexico, apparently Netflix has EVERYTHING on there.
In Australia the DC universe “exclusive” Titans is on Netflix
To clear things up I do know that Netflix and dc have a deal for it
Same thing here in Germany. We also got Doom Patrol on Amazon...
We also have doom patrol and swamp thing airing in a channel called fox 8

On the other hand our Netflix is missing half the shows the US version has.
@@liamjenkins3816 That's just sad... the selection on the US version already sucks.

Remember when we all hated cable for this exact reason?
Yeah but cable is still the worst option...barely. Really it comes down to how many shows you want access to
