Watching these tracer rounds really drives home the importance of knowing what is beyond your target. It looks like a good time was had by all.
Yep, unless your berm is perpendicular to the path of the bullet they can and will still skip and go airborne.
Not necessarily. The tracer part separates all the time from the projectile.
That’s why I’m going to look for or build a berm on my future property I want to be able to shoot without much worry.
It's the tracer separating from the bullet, not the bullet ricocheting...
That kid in the background makes the video 100 times more worth it. I see a future precision shooter there. Good video like always.
Jasmany Amaro Couldn’t agree more.
sick footage!
Thanks Mike!
Watching this literally just motivated me to buy 100 rounds of tracers for my 308 ar off the internet. Nice, can’t wait.
pure awesomeness. this is how memories are made.
happy memorial day
Thanks man! Have a good one.
I think you made the best visual explanation of bullet drop video on youtube...awesome!
It drops very quick when it travels a certain point dosent it ??
You guys did a great job on the video. Best video on CZcams about tracers... Thanks and keep up the good work....
Tracers, so so cool! I love it when you can get together with like-minded friends for a little blasting. Thank you, for the review on the FX1000 and then showing it in action. I am still not 100-percent decided on which scope and I wasn't going to put in on my AR10 but after watching this I may ...what to do, what to do??? Such a cool video! Thank you, for sharing!!
Clicked "like" for grey yoga pants.
I see you are a man of culture
😂😂😂
Men only want one thing...
You know what the AR stands for? Awesome Rear
@@fordman32508 yeah, what of it
Damn !!! That’s not only very impressive but awesome!!!!!!
That's really awesome! Looks like a ton of fun 👍
That looked fun! I've never shot one single tracer only, only in strings with 4 nontracers.
Tracers are always so fun
look at that wind tracers are fun in the winter time for sure! Still have a lot of the old 145 grain's.
Awesome Video!! Taking my upper to a local shop to be assembled this week. 👍🏼
Luis Silva nice!
Watched this about a half dozen times. Those tracers are awesome !
Haha! You the man.
That is bad ass! I love the AR-10 and I love tracer so I need to do this.
Excellent camera work
What a cool video! Having the family/friends there and the kid made it that much more enjoyable! Good stuff!
It was a blast!
Nice video. I am glad to see so many hits and near hits. Remeber, better to be a little low than high. Low still puts rocks and spray on the target.. loved it.
the synth montage was rad
Thanks Kal!
looks like a blast!
The bullet at 5:04 had a right wobbly wiggle was like the cheap football's you get at the seaside called a penny floater or seaside sizzler😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This was one of the better long rang video Iv seen
man this was so much fun to watch, greetings from India
That was great!
That's sick
If the army taught me one thing, it's that the burnout distance of a tracer is around 900 yards.
Incredible!
cool vid. I just today ordered a Ruger .308 PRECISION RIFLE . Now I have to find a good scope . Saw a Night Force budget model for $900.
Awesome video
Haha that is so Damn cool. The guy yelling for correction is great haha
Haha. That's Roy from Brownells doing work.
Great video! 👏👏
That's awesome!
That is amazing!!!
The montage is good🔥
That’s freaking sweet
NICE❕ Ya'll had alot of Fun. I like shoot'em also. That Young Lady, looked to enjoy herself shoot'em too.
Really shows how much more light you have to have when you start using magnification, the exact reason why telescopes are so big. More light in allows more magnification.
Awesome!
Good shit, thanks
Do love me a 16inch AR10
Cool video
Wow!! Good Stuff!! Have a good one, Happy Memorial Day weekend!! :-)
Thanks weed!
Awesome 👍
Damn, I nearly jumped In celebration when he got a head shot at 3:26, good shot
Synth music was awesome
Just awesome ! Put a longer barrel on it.
Kickass!Roll Tide!!
Sweet, gotta get me some 308 tracers. Ive only shot 9mm tracers.
After the intro you announced yourself like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Ayooo!
5:29 ooo sweet 🎂
This reminds me of why we only relied on the tracers for machine guns. They can be squirrely and give a spottet headaches.
I personally have little use for tracers, but this was good shooting at 800 yards. I'd rather use 168-grain .308 match loads.
Cool video. I see the snow melted, but the wind remains :)
Lol - yep!
it would be risky but a go pro at the target facing the shooter would be so legit to see. Just aim for the camera and you’ll never hit it haha
Best shot of the whole video was at 5:30. Cool video.
You may have covered this before, if not could you do a video on how you level an ar15 scope? I have had an issue getting my PA 1-6 Gen 3 ACSS leveled, I have a set of bubble levels, and I just ordered the Wheeler Level Level Level kit with a chamber level and non magnetized level. I think I need to buy a picatinny rail level as well, if you have any suggestions on one that is a good budget option I would appreciate ut
I love this rig but why have you never shot any groups with it I’m very interested in seeing how tight it shoots. Thanks
When you see the tracer fly off in a direction it is actually the propellant from the tracer being ejected off of the round and not the round itself.
A lot of fun. I'd love to know the "pedigree" of those tracers; are they milsurp, or freshly produced "good stuff?"
That round at the end was in fact a tracer. That was the compound that burns.Any paint that was on the tip would of course be ground off from penetrating mother earth.
Long range accuracy with a .308 round for me with my weatherby vanguard in 7.62 mm is about making the rifle as accurate as possible. I started with a full alloy bedded action in a co-polymer stock,a fully floated barrel and a trigger lightened from factory 4lb down to 2 lb. An adition of a nightforce long range scope, and a muzzle break took my factory rifle acuracy from average to exceptional. 100 yards with no modifications i was grouping 2 inch groups, after modifications the groupings were within half inch with factory ammo. Im now hitting 1000 yard targets with consistent 2 inch groupings with a rifle that was only meant for 100 yard accuracy. Ive seen guys with sako rifles worth 3 times what mine is getting no were near my accuracy and its all because the rifle is not set up correctly.
Is this possible. I have a 300 win mag I was using 180 grain federal it was all over the place, switched to 150 all within an inch at a hundred yards.
@@williamdon3442 yeah it is possible, and now I recently purchased a MDT LSS gen 2 chassis which has made the rifle even more accurate. My home loads are also of course making a big difference with accuracy over these distances. This is on good days with no wind too I should mention.
@@williamdon3442 I'm using hornady ELD-X 168 GRAIN Projectiles with ADI powder,I use the best quality brass casings I can get which I've found is once fired hornady brass, and federal primers. That works for my rifle and every rifle is of course different and the person pulling the trigger. I shot 2 inch groupings @1000 yards last week consistently with very little wind and fine weather.Im happy with them results.
Rule of thumb for level ground shooting and sighted-in bang on target in calm and windless days: When the wind blows from West to East, or from the Right side of the shooter, the shots will fly High and to the Left. When the wind blows from East to West, or from the Left side of the shooter, the shots will fly Low and to the Right. In a head wind (wind blowing straight on shooter's face, shots will fly High and in a back wind (wind on the shooter's back of the head), shots will fly Low.
That was great, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Stranger Things sound track? Fits. Nice shooting.
Nearly, it's just a random 80s synth style royalty free track that's similar.
Look at that trajectory. It's like a missile
Do you ever wish you went with a longer 308 or are you happy with the 16”?
That moment a bullet drops into your kitchen window a mile away
Show us what steel tips do.
What bipod do you have? It's also fixed right?
Great video. Whats the name of the song by the way.
Specs on the prs please. I have a 16" AR10(RRA) build
With tracers, missing is fun, too.
Had no idea that bullets bounce so much.
It’s not the bullets bouncing, it’s just the tracer compound.
2:14 you’re god damn right.
cdvs has pulled tracers223/308 in stock.
Lots of really nasty ricochets there
Throw a 1-8x on that .308 and see how far u can make. Consistent hits
How did you get the recoil to be so soft?
Could you do it standing in combat?
Bothered me that ALL the rounds bounced off the ground!
Are you a big fan of the 16” barrel on your 308? Building one now and still debating on if I should go 16 or 18…
What muzzle break is on that ar10?
really wish these types of rifles where legal here in ireland but thankfully i get to shoot regularly in the military
Hoooooooow does that rifle fire so soft?!
I found it interesting that the rounds almost always looked like they went right after hiting the dirt. I wonder if that has to do with the spin on the bullet from the rifleing. Or was that an optical illusion?
It's the tracer separating from the bullet not the bullet ricocheting..
@@nickshades6727 then, gotta admit tracer after separating going too fast!!
What Matt are you using?
Do they make them in 338 Lapua just got my drd Tactical
Hmmm don't think so, but that'd be awesome.
I'm curious how accurate those tracer rounds are. I feel like there should have been more consistent hits with that setup. Not trying to be a know it all, or even complaining, just a thought.
Anyway, great video, looks like fun!
Tracers are actually very inaccurate compared to precision ammo
What acope is that?
What scope is that bro bro
It's definitely a tracer that you found. It's got a canular groove, the "square" tail end, the discoloration at the tail end and the ashey looking compound.
Interesting that the bullets were listed at 142 grains. The military ammo is listed at 146.5 grains. I know not every round is going to be exactly what the box says, it makes me wonder if American Marksman makes their own.
Hank Hill in the background.
Think I've watched this video now as much as Top Gun ...
I'm not into guns and shit. Are tracers like real bullets and they fly the same or are they a bit different
Do those rounds hurt the barrel ?
Do they have them for 6.5 Grendel ?
Per my research there is no added harm to the barrel than firing any other comparable non-tracer round. You'll notice in the video the tracer doesn't really activate until about 100 yards downrange.
6.5Grendel... not likely, but you can give it a Google. 6.5Grendel is pretty niche and I'd bet there is little to no tracer availability for that.
Thanks, I thought that would be the case :-(
They are really cool, I guess I have to get a 308 ! Oh Darn :-)
Out of curiosity. At how many yards are YOU (Highjack86) able to hit quarter groups with a .223?
Groups the size of a quarter? Well a quarter is only .955" in diameter which is sub-moa at your standard 100 yards. I don't consider anything less than 5 rounds a "group". So it depends a lot on the rifle, but most AR15s won't shoot .955" groups at 100 yards consistently.
Highjak86 alright I would say I'm hitting half dollar 4 round groups at 100 yards
A lot of it comes down to the shooter, but the rifle and its barrel are obviously a factor as well. Ammo is the 3rd big component. Good factory ammo can make even a medicore non-precision barrel tighten up dramatically. With my 16" "SPR" 556 AR that has the RA Ultramatch barrel and some good 77gr factory match ammo I would say I can shoot .75-.85" groups consistently at 100 yards, but that gun is capable and has shot the best between .60" and .70" at the same range.
Highjak86 that's intense! My barrel is just a fluted .223 wylde barrel and I use Cap Arms .223 (rest in peace cap arms) and I find after about plugging 3-5 rounds my accuracy dramatically changes I assume that's just because breathing and trigger pull start to weave a little and lose stability on round 5 so need to take a break haha
Nice to watch but next time, with tracer shoot 3 back to back!
She obviously did not miss leg day at the gym. #gorgeous
