    I bought a cheap 71 Kawa G3TR a while back and your videos are a great help. I was debating on disabling the oil pump but I have really no reason to. In all honesty I believe you know your stuff so I will just keep it on. Thank you so much for your helpful videos!!!

      Very welcome keep your oil pump pre mixing a rotory valve engine will destroy the rotary valve

      @@2strokeguru just adjusted my oil pump was lined up very simple when you know about the marks plus had a sticky clutch the previous adjustment was way out. Screw in till just touching works a treat now. Many thanks 🙏🏻

    Thank you Kevin for your videos I ended up getting it the key was wrong soo it fired too early I got it running now onto giving the oiler a shot :) and my oil cap is broke trying to figure out how to take it off

    Thank you for the video. I’ll be digging into a KE100 I just bought that is getting way too much oil. Very smokey and leaks a bit of 2t oil out the back of the exhaust. But a side note is the issue with the screws isn’t the screws fault. They are JIS heads which is a Japanese specific type of head so you have to get a different type of screw driver. It’s not quite the same as Phillips although it looks the same. I got a JIS T-handle driver off amazon that makes them come off incredibly easy. Just with the extra leverage of the T, don’t over torque them when putting them back in. Great video though, helps me a lot!

      @@2strokeguru yeah it comes out the end of the exhaust pipe especially when throttle is applied. I’m pretty certain it’s two stroke oil and not like a crank seal or something. I was reading possibly the 2T oil that’s in it has too high of a flash point so it doesn’t burn completely, not sure tho

    Great video. I just got a 1972 G3SS. Been in storage since 1976. Havent started it yet. I was concerned about the oiler. I assume it's a similar system.

    Great video, I have owned every size and kind of bike. I am now going back to my youth with an interest in small bore two strokes (I am 67 and my second bike after a new 1969 BSA 250, was a 1969 Kawasaki 90 road bike). I miss both, but the BSA is just way out of my range. The little two strokes seem to still be affordable to collect for now, lol

    Seized pump / plastic gear damaged / carbon rotor chipping or broken and sucked in the crankcase. Otherwise these bikes run fine and for a very long time, old bikes had a sleeved cylinder, the newer ones had a lining, but the newer bikes had a metal rotor instead of a carbon one.

    Hey Kevin, your videos have been an amazing help while fixing my ke100. I have one question: my oil pump engages before the carb does when I turn the throttle, and it makes it bog down. Is there any way to fix this?

    I have a question for you I have a 2001 Kawasaki ke100b it did not have the metal part of the clutch lever or the internal part or the pain or cable I ordered everything and for some reason the clutch it's not working do you know what it could be

    8:21 the reason these screws strip easy is most likely because theyre not a philips but rather a JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screw. Theyre a pain

    I think the clutch bolts that you strip out? You could just replace them with allen head or torx bolts...

    the oem kawasaki manual states the oil pump lines should line up when the bike is just starting to come off of idle, you are lining them up at idle

      That makes no sense there's no step down mechanism when the throttle is at rest bike is idling they are aligned with you give it throttle it moves on delivers more oil depending on how much throttle you give

      I went with your method, seems way more fool’proof, but i looked again & yep the factory manual states twist the throttle grip & as soon as the idle starts coming up the lines should line up

    Looking for the same carb as on this bike. Any idea where I can find one or any idea what other version would fit? Haven't been able to find - partzilla, ebay, any vintage bike sites i can fine. Any help is appreciated.

    i just got a 1977 ke 100 it was all rebuit but when it is running oil coms out the pipi life little drips do you think it is set to ritch

    Any idea where i could get the proper banjo bolts and nipples for my pump? I've lost them as I've gone back and forth messing with this bike for a couple of years

    My clutch screw has a super thin place for the screw driver and I had to file down my smallest one.. and the center screw still will not turn in either direction even with the lock nut all the way off... I am also experiencing excessive slipping at high RPM idk what to do at this point... I just bought the bike 2 days ago it is a 1976 KE 100.. I use it for street and trail ( or I will when it's acting right)

    Kevin, great videos. Looking for recommendations to clean the inside of the fuel tank. I have a 1979 KD100 which I'm working on. Also, where's a good location to find a rear rim for the KD100 as I believe it might be bent some.

    All Japanese bolts and screws seem to be made from a blend of cheese!.

      They have JIS heads(Japanese specific) on the screws, a proper JIS screwdriver helps immensely! They are not the same as Phillips screws although they look the same.

      I agree. Until I bought a set of JIS screwdrivers I used to grind 1mm off the tip of a #3 Pozi drive screwdriver and it fitted perfectly.

      @@doctordirk6316 yeah I ruined a couple screws and could not figure out why none of them were coming loose and stripping so easy. Then I read an article about JIS, bought the driver and haven’t had a problem since👍

    really learning alot from your videos, i have a 76 kh100 running and a 74 g5e we are putting back together,
    my kh gas doesnt flow unless i crack the gas cap open, but it always starts! alota rust in the tank, cas cap is rusty too. do you think a replacement gas cap would help. im going to take the tank off this week to clean it out. also after about 20 minutes of goin fast it starts to bog. cheers, jimmy in pittsburgh. wreckless enduro.

      I would clean the tank and petcock and replace the cap unless you can get it apart and clean it the vent in the cap could be clogged

      Lucas, kawasaki racing, yamalube just a good quality 2stroke lube just have to make sure it's for air cooled and oil injection

    Glad I found this channel, especially when you mentioned the process about adjusting the clutch. Although not a kawi, I am having trouble with the clutch on my suzuki 74 ts125. It won't fully disengage when squeezing the clutch lever. I got it to where it doesn't stall in 1st gear but it wants to roll. I have both clymer and suzuki manuals but they are not specific in the adjustment procedure. It mentions to lightly seat, then back out a 1/4 of a turn the set screw with the nut on it. Same as you said in your vid but there is no alignment marks for me to adjust from the clutch lever. Any tips will help, thanks!

      Step 2 loosen the jam nut on the clutch assembly and turn in till it just touches then back out 1/4 turn the tighten jam nut

      Step 3 adjust the cable at the handle bars so that between the mount and lever there's 1/8th gap

      Premix will cause engine damage on rotary values highly not recommended

      Smoke out the exhaust and when you looking at the oil hose between pump and carburetor hose will be filled with oil

    I have a 1974 G5 100 it's very similar but on the clutch, there are no index marks. Are the marks supposed to be directly in the center of clutch linkage?

      Seized pull the head and check for water damage and check the oil reservoir see if the forgot to put mix in them

      No it destroys the rotary valve

      Pre mix is bad when the oil pump pumps instead of oil it will cause a lean condition

      @@2strokeguru Oh, i bought a bike which didnt came with the oil tank and i saw some videos that people also dont use this oil pump. Should i start using it? Another question, the engine uses 2 types of oil? The one that gets burned at the cylinder an another one that locates in the lower part of the engine? Because i saw a bolt that indicates how much to fill it. This is my first 2 stroke bike and i would love to repair it. Thank you so much for your help (its a 90cc g7 sport, not a common bike but its similar to kh kc ke)

    The screws are not Phillips. They are called JIS Japanese industrial standard. You can buy the correct bits and screwdrivers they won’t strip the screw heads.

      Thanks man i really appreciate you taking the time to reply . i find your videos very helpful . i recently bought a kd100m not sure the year but. It wont start it was missing the coil. So i bought it . now the problem seems to be under the flywheel . i was cleaning out the oil pump as well the bolt that holds the oil res line busted when placing back on . so imma need to look for another one.. Any sites you can recommend?

    I bought a 73 GS 100 and there's no wiring to the battery. Can anybody explain this to me or help me out? Doesn't a wire go directly to it from the magneto? Please help!

      @@2strokeguru yeah there's one on the bike but a lot of disconnected wires and there's no wire running to the battery area. Should only be one right because the battery grounds on the metal keeper tab?
