This show contains a lot of model photography by Ken Patterson. Also this week we talk modeling in a new scale if starting from scratch all over again. Ken Shares many photos of his home layout and manufacturers photography. Mike Budde brings his models that made up his favorite cover photo in the model press. Steve Mantia brings his favorite O scale 3 rail Jet powered Bud Cars. We Visit Spring Creek Model Trains in Deshler Nebraska.
Boats to model track that looks great and our favorite DCC system by NCE and so much more in 30 minutes this week.
Spring Creek Model Trains is hands down one of the best ambassadors of the hobby! Excellent customer service and an incredible level of models in stock !
Hats off to Spring Creek Model Trains! I met them at the show in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Very friendly, and knowledgeable about all the products. I purchased a locomotive from them and look forward to doing so again.
Thanks for the shout out! Great show, keep up the great work….
I agree with Mike, N scale has come a long way in detail and products but I still cant let go of the best detail and inventory still to this day, HO. As I get older, the eyes think HO is too small even. Joshua gets the best dressed award this time out.
Another great show! All you guys are a real inspiration. Thanks for making the World's Greatest Hobby just a little bit better.
Another great show! I just want to say i love Joshua Bartons shirt: MoPac shirt! Just beautiful! I love the photo Mike took of his models..MoPac maintenance of way truck & boxcar are just awesome! I love Steve Mantias: Budd cars! Thanks for bringing them for show & tell! This is "The Best Hobby In The World" Till Next Time! MoPac Jack Running Trains With Daughter: Erin! She thinks n-scale trains are too cute! After that comment: Rock N"Roll This Week Is Train Crossing Safety..."See Tracks...Think Train" "Operation Lifesaver" Be Safe!
Enjoy all scales but have always been partial to O scale. Just can't help myself! As soon as I saw that Lionel NYC Jet-Powered Budd, I clicked! Great video!
Love those N scale auto racks. Amazing detail. Keep up the great work with the show guys. All the best from Inverness, Scotland.
The got the American Jazz ship stuck in Lake Barkley on the way to Nashville a while back.
Hi again from Northern Ireland. Thanks for another great show.
I love this show! Thank you, Ken and everyone involved!!!!!
Just love you guys WNTW crew. Just one more great show. Ken Love the layouts tours keep them coming.
Spring Creek is a go to for me. It is a day trip to go there but always worth it.
As for a do over scale, I have really grown to like a friend's prototypical S scale. It isn't the 'high rail" American Flier. His is on code 100 track with some code 83 in the yards. The biggest downside is the availability of power and rolling stock. I also could easily be swayed to starting over in On30 (narrow gauge O scale on HO track).
Great camera work by Mitchell Bevfoden…trying to follow my hand holding the truck, lol. Good job, Mitch!
High Five, Ken!
rock n roll
That Spring Creek train store looks totally awesome, wish they were in my neck of the woods. I'll be checking out their site.
Thanks for talking more about O Scale. I would be interested in hearing more about O Scale accessories.
Started in HO at age 8, switched to N in 1967 (age 15) and switched to On3 in 1981. Have never looked back and if I was to start again it would be either On3 or possibly On30.
Started out with HO, but now with O Scale 2-Rail. Wish more than 6% of the modelers would be in it, but it is a very nice scale!
Great show guys as always. I like the idea of the rock and string to move that boxcar past the camera, ingenious. I've had both HO and N scale layouts and I prefer the HO for its cost, detail, availability and variety of motive power. O scale just costs too much these days. Thanks to the entire cast.
Going forward I would stick with what I'm modeling now days Z scale. But I would not change the scales I've modeled in the past. It's only through the experience that i gained as a Child building Huge 10' x 14" O scale (3 rail) layouts every Christmas with my Dad and Brother and the Knowledge i gained modeling HO as a young adult that I am able to Build, Repair, Maintain ,and Model the Z scale trains that I enjoy today.
great show ! very nice hi rail truck ! Great job Mike Budde ! Awesome ! martin
Another great show.
I have had N and HO scale and model Sn3 now . If I had to do it all over again it would be Sn3 for sure.
You sure have an excellent selection of vehicles in 1:64 scale. Not that you’d need many for a narrow gauge layout. 😉
Ken Amazing video you put out today. Got my support.
Thx again
M-497 was a one off experiment. When Alfred E. Perlman saw the costs of passenger trains on the Central, he knew, he had no choice but to dump passenger trains. The Central by the early1960's was in a precarious position financially.
The jet engines, pods and all, came off of a B-36 bomber that the Air Force was retiring. After denouncing the jet engines the Central turned around and mounted them on wheels and started using them as snow blowers in Frontier yard(I think) in Buffalo.
Has anyone ever thought about making a model of those snow blowers?
Yeah, Man! The Ayatollah Of Rock 'N' Rolla! You Know It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another good episode.
wonderful video
According to the Wall Street Journal China is facing a problem with finding factory workers. Fewer people are willing to move to the cities for work and many people are going into other occupations that pay more. This may further push up prices in the hobby
Nice!
Great episode.
I'm currently in O16.5, but I would like to try one time N scale. I just fear to struggle doing details compared to O scale.
You need a sponsorship from Ring Engineering. A lot of people want to see Rail Pro explained.
HELLO KEN ITS IS RANDY AND I LIKE U VIDEO IS COOL THANKS KEN FRIENDS RANDY
Stay with HO
I went from N to HO
Good show. I like ho. N scale no detail , o, on30 I liked.
So, the 2022 Nat's is going to be in Collinsville and not the Dome like it was in 2000?
I was going to stay in St Charles and take MetroLink in from North Hanley.
Big change of plans...
Has anyone heard of R.DuckLocomotiveWorks? I think hes just getting started. Hes this guy out of Portsmouth, New Hampshire making really awesome locomotive and rolling stock kits! I think they have a website too! You should bring him on the show!
Is it Walthers or Walters i do not know which is correct i hear both spoken on this show. Thanks for the great show guys.
The name is Walthers. Many people think they’re hearing “Walters”, but that isn’t correct.
O scale
