    Hats off to Spring Creek Model Trains! I met them at the show in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Very friendly, and knowledgeable about all the products. I purchased a locomotive from them and look forward to doing so again.

    I agree with Mike, N scale has come a long way in detail and products but I still cant let go of the best detail and inventory still to this day, HO. As I get older, the eyes think HO is too small even. Joshua gets the best dressed award this time out.

    Enjoy all scales but have always been partial to O scale. Just can't help myself! As soon as I saw that Lionel NYC Jet-Powered Budd, I clicked! Great video!

    Spring Creek is a go to for me. It is a day trip to go there but always worth it.
    As for a do over scale, I have really grown to like a friend's prototypical S scale. It isn't the 'high rail" American Flier. His is on code 100 track with some code 83 in the yards. The biggest downside is the availability of power and rolling stock. I also could easily be swayed to starting over in On30 (narrow gauge O scale on HO track).

    Started in HO at age 8, switched to N in 1967 (age 15) and switched to On3 in 1981. Have never looked back and if I was to start again it would be either On3 or possibly On30.

    Started out with HO, but now with O Scale 2-Rail. Wish more than 6% of the modelers would be in it, but it is a very nice scale!

    Great show guys as always. I like the idea of the rock and string to move that boxcar past the camera, ingenious. I've had both HO and N scale layouts and I prefer the HO for its cost, detail, availability and variety of motive power. O scale just costs too much these days. Thanks to the entire cast.

  • @ZscaleSound2
    @ZscaleSound2 Před 2 lety +1

    Going forward I would stick with what I'm modeling now days Z scale. But I would not change the scales I've modeled in the past. It's only through the experience that i gained as a Child building Huge 10' x 14" O scale (3 rail) layouts every Christmas with my Dad and Brother and the Knowledge i gained modeling HO as a young adult that I am able to Build, Repair, Maintain ,and Model the Z scale trains that I enjoy today.

      You sure have an excellent selection of vehicles in 1:64 scale. Not that you’d need many for a narrow gauge layout. 😉

    Thx again
    M-497 was a one off experiment. When Alfred E. Perlman saw the costs of passenger trains on the Central, he knew, he had no choice but to dump passenger trains. The Central by the early1960's was in a precarious position financially.
    The jet engines, pods and all, came off of a B-36 bomber that the Air Force was retiring. After denouncing the jet engines the Central turned around and mounted them on wheels and started using them as snow blowers in Frontier yard(I think) in Buffalo.
    Has anyone ever thought about making a model of those snow blowers?

    According to the Wall Street Journal China is facing a problem with finding factory workers. Fewer people are willing to move to the cities for work and many people are going into other occupations that pay more. This may further push up prices in the hobby

    I was going to stay in St Charles and take MetroLink in from North Hanley.
