This week we look at all the fire equipment available in the hobby of model railroading in HO scale. We also look at all the fire stations available from Walthers Trains. We look at 3-d printers, resin and filament plus resin cleaners from GL Robotics. we look at Stitched Railroad apparel coats of all types from Jelsma graphics. jelsma.com. we also present all the interviews shot at the RPM meet in St Louis this past July to be presented in the October What's Neat Show at Model Railroad Hobbyist magazine. Campbell Rice describes each fire Truck, (Fire Apparatus) as we look at a total of 16 different models including 4 models lit by East Coast Circuits with over 42 LED's in some of the models. Campbell also shares his drone footage of amazing grain elevators. Campbell opens the show with a tribute to all the first responders that served and lost their lives in the 9-11 attack in New York.
What a great opening to the show! Thank You so much for the tribute..Mr. Rice I just love the "Fire Apparatus' I've got a Bachmann Fire House on my layout. There is a fire apparatus factory in Freeburg,Illinois. Just outside my hometown of Belleville,Illinois. The company is called: "Towers Fire Apparatus" My dad took my brother & i when we were younger! This is "The Best Hobby In The World" Till Next Time! MoPac Jack Running trains in my "Train Cave" Be Safe! Rock N' Roll
Lovely tribute episode to the firefighters who served and lost their lives in the 911 attacks and some lovely Fire Apparatus models on display during the podcast and the buildings are lovely as well.
First of all, Thank you Campbell for your 39 years of fire service. A great way to remember those how lost there lives on that day. Not only our brothers and sisters in the fire service, we also have our Hero's from the NYPD and all of the men and women how we lost. Great job Ken on a show for such a horrific day in our history. Scottie
Very nice job Campbell!
My home town of Dundas Ontario (Hamilton) had a Thibault open cab pumper. The open cab served two purposes (1) it allowed firefighters easy entry and exit into the cab and (2) it allowed firefighters a better view of the buildings upon their approach to the fire. Well done video.
Another great show everyone and a great tribute to your fire services some great models and building’s 😀👍
I have the ECC Police Expedition and two UPS trucks, love them !!!!
I'm glad the question of red vs. yellow fire apparatus was brought up. I can remember when my town had both! Most stations were red but we had one that was yellow.
Great SHOW Ken and the WNTW crew. Campbell was out standing with his tribute to our hero's.
He Is The Best! MoPac Jack
A great show again put on by Ken and the WNTW crew. A special thank you to Campbell and his tribute he made to the fire fighters. Thanks for showing our custom lighted vehicles on your show with all of the additional vehicles from Walthers!
As a retired firefighter I really appreciated this video. I too have many of the apparatus you showed and also the fire station and drill tower. I agree, all layouts should have a fire station and at least one apparatus. Great work!!!!!
Amen to Campbell's words! Loved this show, Ken and company!
Awesome show! All of you. You all have become part of my mrr family over the years.
Thanks, Ken and Co. Always a pleasure.
My father was a FDNY (Fire Department New York) for 35 years. As a child in the 50’s I was frequently at the House and playing on the engines. All of the Engines and Ladder Trucks were open cab and open rear platforms. It wasn’t until the late 1960’s that this changed due to bricks etc being hurled down from roof tops Rioters of the late 60’s burning down cities and assaulting firemen hastened the enclosure of cabs and rear platforms for protection. originally these were just metal plates until new apparatus could be ordered with full enclosures.
A fitting tribute with your personal words Cameron & you marked an important day Ken in an appropriate manner.
Another great show! Thank you! And a fitting tribute to all those front line fire fighters who lost their lives in 9/11
We have built 2 brush trucks for the city of Cocoa Florida, one had a 750 gallon tank
Thank you Ken and Crew for the Tribute!
Tuesday morning watching in Northern Ireland. Again an excellent program. Thanks all.
High Five, Ken!
Great episode, I wish companies would come out with a new line of fire trucks in HO scale.
Love ur show, awesome! Thx for the Fireman first responders tribute. Never thought I would see one for HO scale. Again great job!
Thanks guys for a wonderful and inspiring tribute to fire fighters throughout our country and especially those who gave their all to save others 20 years ago. May they all Rest In Peace. Great line up of fire apparatii? I model an older time period so my fire trucks are open cab and no deck guns (does that come from submarine terminology?) but they serve the layout. Thanks guys for a great show.
Lovely words Campbell.
Wish I could’ve had a robot me operating the camera😆. I will be there at a later date. Yes may we never forget all who died on 911. 343 FDNY. Should’ve included fire suppression freight cars and the fire train.
Another good episode guys. Very informative info about the fire trucks. I didnt know any of that befor this episode.
my home town in CT had an open cab mack pumper with a white canvas top [ rainy days]which they used during the summer months then switched back to a hard top in the fall and winter months.
When you said "NCE Hammer head" I at first thought you said MC Hammer time.
both are fine with me 😉
Pro tip for the different tips you can leave them in jar of mineral water or paint thinner and it cleans off
I just might go out tomorrow and buy an apparatus vehicle. It will be set up to fight vehicle fires, another one is from Trident, an old USAX M 931 truck and tank trailer, then my all time favorite from our volunteer fire department was a 1974 Ford F250? 4 x 4 brush truck. The first one that I mentioned is from our local race track. It's a Crew Cab by Ford with nothing but dry powered extinguishers in its bed. The old deuce and a half has been retired and has been replaced with a COE. I don't remember the company that built it. Another truck that I fell in love with from the 70s was an old green International Harvester single axle with a small 25' ft? tank trailer. So many trucks so little room..
The LaFrance Pumper. Haven't heard someone relating this to Praliné for a very long time, most likely because Praliné was purchased by BUSCH almost 30 years ago :)
Unfortunately, they have ditched new development of US vehicles in favor of former GDR/USSR cars. Ostalgie, a portmanteau made out of nostalgia and the german word for East (Ost), obviously earns you more money…
Ken & WNTW crew,
What a great show this week for America's remembrances of 911 (although sugar fire's zen opening dance needs some work) grin.... Thanx Thom...
The lighting looks amazing thankyou for the video
Perfect start today with a fantastic podcasts 🤗
And just gets better and better!
Just added an Athearn white Ford pumper to my station.🚂🇨🇦🇺🇲
Awesome Video Ken!!!
Another great show. Well done and great respect to First Responders and 9/11. Thanks.
Thx again
The Ford C cab was not built by Ford !!! It was built by Budd. They also made the same cab for Mack in the early sixties as Mack's N series. Only difference between the two was Mack had 4 headlights and the Fords had two.
That's interesting, I never knew that. Thanks for the info.
@@campbellrice4055 Thanks for letting us know the light pattern on the Pumper truck is accurate! We do our best to light up the vehicles as prototypical as possible!
Thx again, I learned so much of this show. Being a first responder appreciate that u took time on a show to do this. It realistic a part of most layouts. Quick question, heard Buddy talking about buildings looking like at&t, does he work for them? I also work for them. Thx again u guys are awesome!
Hi, Mike, I retired from AT&T in 2015 after 37 years…started at Southwestern Bell in 1978.
@@mikebudde2570 I’m still going. Got 3 years left for 30 with Ohio bell. Good deal u definitely r enjoying it looks like.
@@michaelboyles9329 for SURE! I loved my job but had to get away from all the computer crap and company bureaucracy. It is wonderful being retired.
Hi, your show is great but make more videos taking pics of your trains outside.
Peter
COOL👍!
I totally agree about 9/11 but I was refanning in Georgia.
Nice one Ken do like the chats you have.
HELLO KEN ITS IS RANDY AND I LIKE U VIDEO IS COOL THANKS KEN FRIENDS RANDY
Not a snorkel, it's a telesqurt.
All these really Neat fire trucks but something seems to be missing? Oh, I know, where’s the Dalmatians? It’s not a true firehouse without “Sparky” sitting somewhere around the trucks and houses.
No dought a great show. Thank you for remembering 9/11 also the fire fighters who sacrificed their lifes. Good ĺooking fire aperatus transportation and buildings. Would like to see scale trucking mostly 1:87s. Again great show (where were the trains??) ha ha!!
If they're apparatus then why does the model building say engine house....hhhmmmmmm? Someone should have asked that question. When I'm driving down the road and I hear a siren behind, I don't pull over because there's a fire "apparatus" coming my way, I pull over because it's a fire engine and you get the heck out of the way! Just sayin' NEVER FORGET
I find the red/black brush truck but where can I find the solid red model? I've looked for hose for the hose bed or rolls of hose. Ideas?
As someone who did not grow up or have ever lived in the US but wished you did/do. These shows are like history lessions! Also does Jelsma ship to Europe? :) Great show like allways!
Yes we do will ship any wear.
