  • Pub Travels has fun with this cute little video showing how we made French Onion Soup with Spring Onions. Special thanks to our friends at Premier Produce in Franklin Park, Illinois. It could have used a little thyme but the flavors of the fresh spring onions were amazing.
Don't forget to save vegetable scraps to make a stock for more flavor. This was fun. We hope you enjoy it. And try making French Onion Soup with Spring Onions!
It is said that French Onion Soup was invented by none other than King Louis XV late one night at his hunting lodge when he was very hungry. When he only found onions, butter, and champagne in the pantry, he decided to use the three ingredients to make the French onion soup for the very first time.
The Traditional French onion soup (soupe à l'ognion) is one of the emblematic dishes of simple and quick Parisian cuisine. Made of dry bread or croutons, beef broth, and caramelized onions, it is a typical dish of winter in Paris and can be served as a first course or as a meal in itself.
We made our French Onion Soup with Fresh Spring Onions with which we also made a Spring Onion Stock, Water Buffalo Cow's Milk Butter, Beef Stock and Croutons made of Pita Bread diced and toasted in the Water Buffalo Cow's Milk Butter Seasoned Simply with Kosher Salt.
