Who were they supposed to get? Bill is not the kind of guy to trade a bunch of draft capital for 1 player. I'm glad they waited till this year, it gave them a chance to see which players on offense, like Jakobi Meyers, have great potential with a good QB
I get tb12 vibes when I see that 10 and his play style. Everyone bags this man but tbh he’s a very poised qb wouldn’t hate to see him a niner. My prediction is he shocks a lot of ppl in the nfl.
Thanks for the video. I see some very accurate deep passes, good movement in the pocket, good intermediate range touch passes. He made a great throw on the run without his feet set. I also see a lot of confidence and poise for someone with relatively little playing time.
Notice he is never pressured? In the nfl he will nearly always be pressured and his receivers will be guarded. That’s why these super team qbs with first round receivers have a tougher time in the nfl. Any nfl Qb with time can make these throws.
He directly reminds me on brady, then i m reading the comments and looks like I am not the only one. Love how he throws the ball so perfect, so the receiver can continue his run in full speed. Also he throws very quick. This QB with good WR is really dangerous. Must say devonte smith also great performance, sad they dont play together anymore.
@@terrywhitejr9574 yes i agree on that because those two teams are just a qb away from competing for a superbowl. Rumor is that colts is his perfered choice.
Mac Jones has had a terrific year his only season as the starting quarterback. He can put the ball right where the receiver can get it. He can read the defense really well. He’s got incredible deep ball accuracy. He can make tight window throws. Jones is smart with the ball in his hands and rarely throws interceptions. Jones has waited very patiently for his turn sitting behind Tua and Jalen Hurts and his time came. Mac Jones is better than Tua was the past 2 seasons at Alabama. Jones will get drafted by the Chicago Bears in the NFL Draft. I believe he will be a great quarterback in the pros. Good luck in the NFL Mac!
No doubt Alabama had some awesome receivers, but the accuracy of Jones is top notch, some of those tight and double coverage strikes required a perfect pass with no room for error and he delivered that.
Mac Jones reminds me of Jimmy Garoppolo coming out of college. Quick release very accurate high iq and command an offense. The difference between the two is Mac can perform on a big stage.
Yup, this highlight reel shows only great arm and accuracy. No mobility/run highlights probably because he never needed that aspect of the game to succeed at Alabama. He'll absolutely need it in the NFL.
You don't know how to watch game film...he had the #1qbr in the nation under pressure...he doesn't hold the ball for more than 3 secs on most throws and his pocket mobility is second to none...why run the ball when your processing skills are immaculate!
I’ma lose all trust cuz he’s just throwing to wide open receivers without any pressure. He has the best O-Line in the nation and the best athletes in the nation cuz Bama has the number 1 recruiting class every year. He didn’t move out the pocket once & a lot of underthrown balls but he has two top receivers in the nation that’ll go get it no matter where’s it’s thrown & he gets bailed out. He’s a worse Gorropollo if you ask me

@@Zuyst I'll take that because Trub's isn't a bad player , can you say that for the draft placement , perhaps but he's getting better so I would take that because Trub's isn't too far from being there , just takes a serious off-season of working at his craft but yes , the 🐻's do need a QB , O-line and secondary. Perhaps linebackers as well even though it's a strong suit , depth never hurts.
Consistently being mentioned in the same breath as the GOAT is an honor for Jones. His pocket presence and ability to read defenses is among the best in this year's class. prosportsoutlook.com/pso-scouting-report-qb-mac-jones-alabama/
I'm not a talent evaluator, but based on this highlight film and his impressive efficiency stats (41 TDs and only 4 INTs and 70+% completion rate), THIS IS the guy to take as QB in the 2021 Draft, regardless of where in the Draft order you are picking. Why? He looks real comfortable in the pocket, and plays with very good poise and sense of calm. He knows exactly where his receivers are going to be, and puts the ball out in the best spot (granted, his WRs seem to be wide open a lot of the time). Throwing accuracy is solid, and can fire a throw into tight windows. He plays as if he know the answers to the test in advance (where the defense is setup, and where his receivers are going to be). The single biggest separator for QBs at an NFL is not things like arm strength, or even mobility. It is diagnosing defenses, know where each of your receivers are, making the best decision, delivering the football, and playing with a sense of poise and not getting rattled. The video did not show him under any serious pressure (pass protection is real good), but just watching him gives a sense of a guy that plays with a calmness and poise about him. I would pick this guy to be a lock as a top-5 or top-7 performer as a NFL QB (franchise QB).
I’m sold on this kid as the best QB in the draft... @5:13 showed me why! Not a deep 40-50yd pass, but the pocket presence and awareness to slide forward to evade crashing outside rush, eyes downfield and a pretty accurate pass for the TD. That may seem easy but it’s not! These are the pocket awareness that Brady, Montana and Marino had/has that makes them all time greats! And @6:54, inside LB comes free right in his face and he throws a perfect strike to WR for TD... his decision making and accuracy is pretty damn remarkable! Yea! He’d be my #1 for this draft class! 👍
I'm always skeptical of QBs from Alabama and Ohip State because their programs surround them with so much talent, it's hard to discern if they're gonna transition well at the next level.
If my pats get Mac that would be amazing him behind our solid offensive line and new weapons would be amazing. I’d be happy with him or trading up for fields since cam mentored him and fields likes him.
I love watching this guy throw the ball. I don't care how good his supporting cast is. Most of his throws are impeccably placed. The kids got amazing accuracy and vision. Put him in a NFL system in the area where he's expected to fall that will protect him well and he will flourish.
Born September 5, 1998. Played high school football for The Bolles School Bulldogs (FL). Played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Drafted #15 overall by the New England Patriots.
With the benefit of hindsight: The most obvious thing is that this reel is 50% devonte smith highlights (and others). This bama team was stacked and it was mac's only year as a starter. 3 1st round nfl receivers at the same time, this means no team can focus too much on any one and they were each capable of kicking their man's ass 1 on 1. There are 5-10 yards of separation on most of these throws if not more. The second thing is the o line. Bama's weapons were great this year but so was the line, mac is not having to climb the pocket much less scramble and make a play in literally ANY of these throws. If you watch mac play to this day, he is distinctly bad at moving within the pocket and this problem is compounded by new england's terrible line. At the end of the day, these throws are perfectly placed and mac jones is an nfl caliber qb, but tons of nfl qbs could have had a similar season to mac in 2020 given what he had to work with. Mac got drafted to a team devoid of talent and his play is suffering as a result. Its not too complicated
His IQ, arm, and pocket awareness is top notch. I get why there is doubt but the guy didn't have a bad game all year! Didn't Burrow have 1st round talent around him? Did he not face a bunch of 1st round talent in the SEC? You can tell he makes the right decisions quick, he's got 2 degrees, what he lacks mobility he makes up for in IQ. He's so collected in pocket and very shifty. Watch tape of him when he does have pressure, there's no panic. He's also big enough to see over defenders and use his high IQ to scan field. He's deadly accurate. I think Kyle and John will feel the same way I do, and if they don't he wont get pass the Pats at 15.
Naw, man. It’s about repeating the narrative that you’ve heard from “experts” to sound smart yourself! The narrative being that he’s slow and has NFL talent around to carry him
Kyle trask is the same way. Take away his top notch receivers, you get an interception throwing clown. Mac's receivers are good too, but Mac puts his passes right on the money most of the time. Trask's receivers had to make difficult adjustments that only high caliber receivers can catch. The game vs. OU exposed him.
@@bobbydyne Tom Brady was and is the slowest QB in the NFL. And he has 6 rings and is currently in the playoffs on a new team. Being slow doesn't matter if you're a smart QB.
Don’t need a high IQ to chuck it deep to wide open Heisman receivers. He’s literally locked in on one receiver the entire play, doesn’t go through progressions because he doesn’t really have to, and doesn’t face pressure most of the time because his o line is good.
As long as that team has a good o line, his mobility won't be much help. He does seem to have very good pocket presence and decision making. Very good accuracy on throws and enough arm strength. I think he'll do good with the right team
With all the talented receivers Dallas has he would make their offense instantly better. I like Dak but I honestly believe Mac Jones will become QB that's consistently good every year in the NFL and make the weapons around him better. I also worry about Dak coming back from that injury it was a very nasty break.

I would have loved to see him as a Rivers apprentice, but now with his retirement, I'm not sure which team he's going to. But he certainly has the talent to be a franchise QB, I hope they just give him the time to develop his skills further.

Mac Jones will be better than most think. Throws his receivers open, goes through his progressions well when he has time. Relies on his arm rather than setting his feet and generating torque. Reminds me a bit of Eli Manning in college at times.
@@Marvelis26 it’s not about as much avoiding the sack it’s the fact he stay calm in the pocket while he is collapsing and has quick movements to step up and back and side to side out of the pocket and moving in the pocket is avoiding pressure just as much as someone who roll out of the pocket maybe next time instead of complaining about how there is no pressure (which is actually a lie) pay attention to his feet and see just how calm and elusive he is in the pocket
Devonta was the best receiver I've ever seen play in the SEC. Not sure how he's doing in NFL as I don't watch it much, but I'd imagine he's testing it up if he's got a QB that can throw deep.
I think his footwork is questionable. Drop backs are really nice, but he rarely steps up in the pocket. Instead, his step ups are a mixture of sidestepping and off balance throwing. This is the only part of his game that concerns me and if he lands with a team with OL struggles, Jones will struggle.

The New England Patriots totally missed out on a quarterback in last year's draft, and now they could make up for their mistakes right here and right now.
Who were they supposed to get? Bill is not the kind of guy to trade a bunch of draft capital for 1 player. I'm glad they waited till this year, it gave them a chance to see which players on offense, like Jakobi Meyers, have great potential with a good QB
If the patriots don’t get a proven veteran qb then this is the guy I want. To me he’s the second best Quarterback in this draft behind Lawrence.

Thanks for the video. I see some very accurate deep passes, good movement in the pocket, good intermediate range touch passes. He made a great throw on the run without his feet set. I also see a lot of confidence and poise for someone with relatively little playing time.
Mac Jones is an absolute baller. He’s Rivers at least and that’s a huge compliment.
He’s stronger than rivers. He’s Matt Rayan 2.0 and a 49er
Theyre all one read throws and he stares down his receivers.

You did not say River's wow. Mac jones is tom brady has great pocket feet and Great Accuracy
How many rings does Rivers have 🤨🤔
Bro looked good cause he was just throwing it to Smith and Waddle all day 😅
People really talk about this guy like he isn’t good. He has amazing ball placement, his touch is just perfect on these throws.
Notice he is never pressured? In the nfl he will nearly always be pressured and his receivers will be guarded. That’s why these super team qbs with first round receivers have a tougher time in the nfl. Any nfl Qb with time can make these throws.
Good observation man, we're forgetting that Alabama has one of the best ol in college football
Quick release. Progression through WRs. Pocket Presence. Accurate. Prototypical Belichek target. This guy is going to be great.
throws recievers open as well. doesnt wait for them to make their move and BE open like Newton
NOPE!!! he needs Waddle!!! he is nothing without him!
Not a long range threat? Seems fine at long range also on some of those throws. NE got a steal with him.
And with the 3rd pick in the 2021 NFL draft...the San Francisco 49ers select... Mac Jones, alabama.

@@malikdunston670 you do realize brady played 20 plus years in the NFL right? He made a lot of 40 plus yards over his careers.
I think he will be better than tua but that's not saying much
Tua will be a much improved quarterback in year 2.
As a Niner fan, Jones also has a better deep ball than Jimmy. He throws guys open and doesn't under/over throw like Jimmy.
Good throws, but he has all the time in the world. Who knows how he’ll handle pressure in the NFL.
He's getting rid of the ball really fast
His under pressure stats in college are great
Yup, this highlight reel shows only great arm and accuracy. No mobility/run highlights probably because he never needed that aspect of the game to succeed at Alabama. He'll absolutely need it in the NFL.
You don't know how to watch game film...he had the #1qbr in the nation under pressure...he doesn't hold the ball for more than 3 secs on most throws and his pocket mobility is second to none...why run the ball when your processing skills are immaculate!

niners fans, let this sink in for us.
this is the pick, and we’ll have to trust that they made the right decision, trust the process
He’s a worse Gorropollo if you ask me
Bell City Vizzy i understand all of the doubts and concerns, but i think we simply just put our full faith into the organization. i don’t see the niners as an organization who gives away 2 first rounders and fuck it up. i trust that they know much more than the fans

He will be better than brady
I think the niners should get this guy 🤔 even tho I hate the niners
Came from the future, Bill Belichick also thinks that.
He gives me more Drew Brees vibes
I totally agree.
I like him over Lawerence.
Lawrence is the media hype. Mac is legit.
This aged poorly
I like his touch on those deep throws.
I'm always skeptical of QBs from Alabama and Ohip State because their programs surround them with so much talent, it's hard to discern if they're gonna transition well at the next level.

I love watching this guy throw the ball. I don't care how good his supporting cast is. Most of his throws are impeccably placed. The kids got amazing accuracy and vision. Put him in a NFL system in the area where he's expected to fall that will protect him well and he will flourish.
Give him a Broncos or Panthers team who can use the rest of draft capital to improve the o line and you’ve got a ROY candidate imo

Born September 5, 1998. Played high school football for The Bolles School Bulldogs (FL). Played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Drafted #15 overall by the New England Patriots.
With the benefit of hindsight:
The most obvious thing is that this reel is 50% devonte smith highlights (and others).
@@bobbydyne he is a pocket passer, him being slow means very little!!!
Don’t need a high IQ to chuck it deep to wide open Heisman receivers. He’s literally locked in on one receiver the entire play, doesn’t go through progressions because he doesn’t really have to, and doesn’t face pressure most of the time because his o line is good.
People are sleeping on how good John metchie is he is going to be elite with Bryce young next year
As far as QBs go he will be the last taken in the first round or the first taken in the second round. Point is whoever gets him got a steal
As long as that team has a good o line, his mobility won't be much help. He does seem to have very good pocket presence and decision making. Very good accuracy on throws and enough arm strength. I think he'll do good with the right team
As a Pats fan, he is not a franchise QB. I wish him the best in his backup career tho 😮💨
