    Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa
    Junior 6’1 218 lbs
Tua Tagovailoa came to Alabama as a 5-star recruit & ended his true Freshman season leading the Crimson Tide to a National Championship. He came up short as a Sophomore & was having arguably his best season in 2019, but suffered a season-ending hip injury.
Throughout his career, Tua was one of the best players in all of college football. He throws a beautiful deep ball & is arguably the best at throwing slants. Overall, he might be the best QB Alabama has ever had.

@@macncheekss9317 I’m a huge dolphins fan and a huge Tua fan. Saying I’m a hater is stupid lol. Him and his history of falling has nothing to do with how mobile he was before his HIP injury not his head injuries. You’re just saying I’m a hater just for fun lol. Tua adapted more of a pro style approach after his injury he’s not going to be a dual threat. That was the point of my comment

He's still super dynamic tho, and can be mobile when he needs to, but I think he chooses not to run unless it's necessary just to prevent further injury. Even still, you see him make so many moves in the pocket. He reminds me of a more dynamic version of Brees

Plus, I think he'd just be the #2 guy next year behind Lawrence. We all know he's gonna kill the interviews, with his character. As long as he's hood on the white board, he'll just have to pray..... That medical egg, doesn't doom him. So, going from a #6ish overall to a #2 overall isn't that much improvement. As a Buckeye fan I hate Bama, but after college I don't care who the Dolphins take and I came here because everyone keeps telling me who is gonna get Waddle and Hill the ball. They all think Tua sucks, but any QB would suck behind the OL that Miami had last year, now they have some free agents on OL and some play makers so I wanted to see some highlights of Tua throwing the ball and I must say I am very pleasantly surprised at his ability to throw the ball if he has time to. No, in fact he led the team the entire year, won an sec championship game, won a playoff game, and he started the national.championship game. The more accurate statement would have been if you swapped jalen for Tua seeing as how Tua was on the bench the entire season. For someone who clearly loves to argue you're really fucking terrible at it.

Just imagine if Tua had started his entire Freshman season. It's true that while Jalen was the starter they only lost to Auburn in 2017, but I can't help but think if Tua was the starter the entire season they would have been undefeated. I may be wrong but I believe Saban wasn't about to bench Jalen, mainly because how he had played starting with the USCw game in '16, so Saban probably felt he owed it to Jalen. Jalen just couldn't make anything happen in the NC game vs Georgia and Saban finally pulled the trigger, we all know what happened next.
Tua has 87 td passes and 96 if you add Tua's rushing TD's. It's hard for me to imagine how many more he would have if he started as a Freshman, assuming of course he stayed healthy. Thank you Tua! Thank you for coming half way around the world to play for Bama! Thank you for sticking with it when you knew you were the better QB. Thank you for the mature attitude you showed on and off the field.

Man it’s so easy to see what went wrong his first couple NFL years… completely different form, after that injury he stopped his rotation at the hips, trying to subconsciously protect it, no wonder his arm strength was questioned…. Cause that’s all he was using no power transfer from below at all his first 2 seasons…. Mike McDaniel knew, he got him in the right track, he looks a lot more like 2023 Tua in this vid than if we compared this to his 2021 film

Chris Anderson think tua fits best w miami. There’s no guarantee they can land Lawrence next year & by the looks of Flores approach to this season, trying to accumulate wins despite their season being gone, I doubt they stay in the top 3 for 2021. Tua when healthy is one of the best if not best quarterbacks in the country. The good thing is he will not have to play right away, but can sit a year behind fitz, get his body and mind right, learn the system & grow in it, and when ready take over.

I just don't think many give credit to how much of an affect the dislocated hip & pelvis fracture had on Tua. It isn't an excuse, just simple fact. As I understand it, he was effectively confined to a bed for 3 months to allow the initial bone fracture and dislocation to heal. Just think how much basic core strength would disappear if you were told to stay in bed all day and limit your movements. The body is very efficient, if something isn't being used it gets broken down. The video of Tua's movement before the daft, was all well and good, but again it wasn't showing actual strength & stamina............. He shouldn't of been playing at all last season, physically he wasn't ready. Throwing/Arm strength comes from the feet & body core, no wonder he it didn't seem like he had much zip & distance...... I think the Dolphins put him in to see if he could survive in the NFL (which he did) & whether there was long term effects from the injury (otherwise they'd have to draft an alternative)................ These highlights, show Tua has a decent arm, zip & can throw off-step. He is clearly hitting the weights & building his body & leg strength back to true professional athletic levels. Tua will be very good this coming season.
