- This is a video showing our vw caddy going from barn find to CAMPERVAN.
Hope you enjoy it we do have a few more vans in the pipeline.
Sorry for the bad edit but this is the first time for us doing the video hopefully next time it will be better.
The build took us around 20 hours.
Looks a good little build!! Been trying to find a standard Caddy build video, love the table/bed!

Great conversion. What did you use to clean out the footwells. Looked like a foam of some sort. Came up great
Hi James, I used a product from AutoGlym called “clean all” diluted with some water it’s a great all purpose cleaner 👍👍

Nice job 👍 though I would have rather seen the more technical aspects (wiring/insulation) as opposed to cabinet assembly and painting.

Great video I was just wondering with taking out the sheet at front what type space to you have from head toe ? Or do you need to put seats down to feel comfortable?
wondering the same coz bed looks small for an adult, wud b good to know sizes
Hi Shane, I’m 5’9 and I fit in it comfortably, If I remember rightly I didn’t need to adjust the front seats. I would suggest if your a bit taller or plan on spending a lot more time in the van than say 2/3 nights a caddy maxi is longer. Thanks for the comment and happy new year!!

Brilliant, love the colours and is it easy to take out the front seats? Where is the flat pack fro. ? Thanks 🤙
The front seats are very easy just 4 torque bolts holding them too the base. The flat pack is made by van furniture

@@nikitareilly6546 you can buy them from van furniture however we decided to buy the foam and upholster it ourselves
Not the caddy maxi right? How long is the bed? Can a 1.80m person fit inside? Do you move the front seats to sleep?
Nice build!
It's not a maxi no, you would just about fit if you laid straight. We recommend moving sit forward a little but not too far as it lends itself as a headboard.
great stuff what colour/shade of stretch carpet is it?
I can't remember the exact shade of grey, sorry. It was however 3 way stretch
I went anthracite shade
How much head room do you get when in the bed/sat down
Hi James, to be honest I don’t think it was sufficient head room for me sat up straight (5”9) though I suppose you could argue everyone naturally slouches. Hope this helps.
