I was a highly-regarded child development therapist and educational specialist for 10 years. 3 degrees. I lived in a "big blue" city (the biggest one), wrote social emotional curriculum for their city department of education, and was a city-wide authority on family engagement and teacher training. I used to be liberal. When this was all ramping up several years ago I said: "hey, so, in my professional opinion, this is not developmentally appropriate for children." That was it- Hit the brakes. I went from being a leader in my field to being called an ignorant, uneducated bigot. After a while there was nothing I could do to fight it. Sometimes all you can do is refuse to participate. So, I changed careers, moved to a red state, became conservative, went back to Church, bought a handgun, and home school my children. Those people are NUTS.

@@derkle21 Thank you! There are definitely more and more people waking up- I don't think I have a single colleague left it the field who I really respected. They have all changed careers. That's one of the many reasons why there is a "teacher shortage"; we staged a mass protest of the teachers' union and everyone quit or was fired. I fought the wokeness plague until the start of Covid, then I got the double whammy of also putting my foot down against masking special needs toddlers in preschools and other mandates, and I couldn't hold my position any longer. That was the final straw for a lot of people who were fighting all these things for a long time inside the educational system

Those 3 seemed to be very ignorant of issues they say affect them, like the umbrella girl taking testosterone and thinking it’s fine for young children to transition young. I’m not super clued in on all things current myself, but if it was an issue that directly affected me, I would be somewhat knowledgeable about it. I have a 14 year old, so you know I’m at least somewhat up to date on what the current pressures kids face and transitioning is one of them.

I think socially transitioning is great and it's not harmful. I'm doing it right now by cutting my hair, dressing what's considered boyish, and wearing bras that flatten my chest as much as possible.
Though medically transitioning, I don't think is good for kids, especially because our bodies aren't fully developed and we are still in the growing process.

Speaking as someone who is a licensed security guard and who has worked various venues, events and locations everything those 'security guards' did is all kinds of illegal.
Security guards must be licensed to do these kinds of events, must be identifiable (usually this means must be in uniform identifying them as a security guard, not a tshirt like these guys like a random person), must have their employee and licensing information on them and visible at all times on a lanyard and carry a physical ID. They are not permitted to follow people around like that, let alone when told to stop - this is harassment. You aren't allowed to accuse anyone of anything without cause. You are not allowed to do these things even if instructed to by the client/event organizer. Their behavior here if reported to their employer would get the guard fired, their security license revoked and heavy fines as well as an investigation and audit of their training and actions for the employer
Its also worth mentioning that security guards are explicitly prohibited from personally filming anyone for any reason on the job. That right there will get you arrested and sued into oblivion
Easiest way to deal with these kinds of people is the moment they start following you around and trying to pull that, demand they provide their security id and credentials. They are required by law to do this. If they refuse report it to the event organizers and tell them you'll call the cops if the 'security guard' refuses to back off. Or simply remind them of this requirement and if they try to bs or still refuse call the cops and have them arrested and let the cops and their soon to be very angry employer deal with the violations
It was a crusty pride event, they were probably friends of one of the organizers and did it for an eighth. We all know they had no credentials. The closest they had was those nasty vests that just made them look like a gang of addicts at a truck stop

Even tho i dont agree with a lot of stuff blaire says (like gender not being a social construct), im subscribed to her now because i want to listen to what she has to say. She's shown time and time again that shes good at engaging in respectful debate, which is something the internet lacks. I also admire her for calling out a lot of predatory behaviour. She was the first one to express a disapproval and condemnation of shanes behaviour (despite previously being his friend) and i really appreciate that. I disagree with the pro-gun stance she has, but i also think shes really empathetic when discussing eating disorders. She's kind of difficult to hate imo because shes so nice and respectful most of the time, even when she's saying something i disagree with

Because unless you are actually comfortable with those opinions and beliefs, you should be able to defend them while taking no issue if someone challenges those same beliefs and opinions…unless the foundation of those beliefs are as weak and fake as the people who pretend to hold them and thus you can’t actually bring yourself to defend them and so get aggressive and start throwing insults because…you have nothing else to say?

I don’t think it means it automatically, but it probably trends that way because setting a personal aspect about yourself towards others as something they *need* to agree with tends to be a liberal thing. Like, as far as I’ve been able to conclude, Blaire is a conservative Trans because Blaire’s existence isn’t traumatically affected if someone doesn’t agree with the trans identification. For most Trans people, if you don’t validate them, its trauma-inducing, and thats a Liberal tendency. Conservatives are generally better at living their own life regardless of the opinions of those around them.
Probably a historical thing - as historically speaking social conservatives were majorly homophobic, even to the extent that the health of the LGBT community was neglected and we were left to die during the AIDS crisis. That’s why being gay/trans is conflated with being liberal, cause while it’s not exactly the case anymore gays/trans are still being conflated with a liberal world view cause of the actions of historically socially conservative individuals.
Meanwhile today, moderate right wingers such as allies of Blair are generally more accepting of the LGBT community now than the right in general was in the 60-80s. Hope this answers your question. :3

That stalker wasn't a security guard. They are required to have identifying badges on their uniforms. That guy was larping. EVERYONE you called security, wasn't. Actual security is required to be in uniform, be trained and certified, and work for a BONDED security company to cover liability. Texas level 4 PPO here. Those were "volunteers". Also known as just some guy with a t-shirt and zero authority. If the holders of that event authorized those men to act as security, they are open to massive lawsuits and fines. When that guy was following you, you should have walked over to the police. If you told them he was pretending to be a security guard and harassing you, they'd have detained him. If he then claimed to be acting as security they'd ask for his licensed Texas security card. Not having one, he'd probably be arrested.

What age should someone start receiving gender affirming care? 18. Let kids be kids. Adults can make their own decisions.
Trans women in women sports? Should not be allowed. Unless there’s open trans categories. Some things in life are simply not fair. I would not compete with bio men because I was born female. I still live as a man in every other area of my life. Trans women can live their best lives and not be in sports where they have unfair advantages.
