I started playing Wreckfest when it was named Next Car Game.
@Sebas7710 It was actually an early access game for a really long time (since 2013) and it started out with the place holder title of "next car game". It was only called Wreckfest later in development.

It's so weird when game names change. "Golf with friends" was changed to "Golf with your friends"
Which is kind of superficial, but it still caused me to think the game was removed from steam
I would really love to see Flatout games on this channel. They are so good for being such old ones.

@@bumblebity2902 the damage is more realistic in wreckfest but flatout is much more fun, specificaly 2 & ultimate carnage.
The tracks in wreckfest are super bland and the cars are too slow for any crazy crash, also no nitro so recovering from a bad crash is super hard and crashing into other cars doesent grant nitro so ironically crashing other cars is really not a good idea in wreckfest. That makes really boring imo.

Got this game when it was in alpha and there was only one car in the big physics/damage model showcase area for like 15$, ans it developed so fast and became so good, I love it

Same, I still remember that painful break when they freshly rewrote their rendering engine for PBR before they had THQN's funding and lost some employees aswell (around the time they filed for bankruptcy) and everything went from looking amazing (especially for the mid 2010's) to pretty bad.
I like how it is today, but part of me misses the OG Next Car Game - with the destroyable bridge pillars on "Asphalt 1 or 2" and when most cars had working back/brakelights.
Watching old Alpha footage makes me so nostalgic. I still got an old version laying around on another PC that wasn't connected to the web for years. (It also shows 'sign up for Fortnite Beta' in the Epic Launcher - back then Unreal Tournament 4 was still in development, before Epic abandoned it, cause the Fortnite kids bought so much 'Surprise Mechanics' with their mums credit cards...)

Same, I bought it as Next Car Game, I remember when there was little to nothing to do and the game had terrible performance. I didn't touch it for like 3 years and now when this game became so big and great I came back to playing it and I simply love it.
Wreckfest is a good game, just wish there were more people who play it, itâs an underrated gem of a game

They just done well the Ai in 2019, the Ai can dodge your car.

In a perfect world, we would have another Burnout game with this damage model or BeamNG levels of damage....
I would be satisfied with some other remaster of some Burnout game, dont like Paradise...

If anyone is reading comments I'm pretty sure Kuru isn't using realistic damage setting in this gameplay. Selecting it makes gameplay much more risky and intense
I had sooooo much fun playing FlatOut as a kid, I'm so happy this game exists.
The Flatout devs knew what they were doing. I bought this game early when it was in early access and it's so fun. The Steam Workshop support makes it even better!

I used to play a lot Test Drive Eve of Destruction when I was a kid
Wreck fest reminds me a lot of Eve
I have 130h in Wreckfest... one of the most fun racing games ever and multiplayer is bonkers. Every racing game should have damage model from wreckfest and "weight" feel... in many racing games cars feel like empty boxes with no centre of mass at all
So sad i missed this stream :'O Looks like a blast!

I think it looks more like test drive driven to destruction than to flatout because it's more realistic than the arcadey feel that flatout had

There's also BeamNG.drive, which has even more in depth. But yeah, Wreckfest is still one of the best games ever in terms of realistic damage model

Defenetly, not. Cuz you can destroy forward wheels and engine, but your is still handling as usual.

like 2 weeks after the ea release of the "next car game" it took really long time like 4 years +? for the gane to get fully release.. i was dissapointed at first but after the full release im not dissapointed anymore
