Love to see a few classic videos on audio gear. Been missing the new vids lately.
Hello Dr Casse Perfect DJ Set amplified Speaker,Perfect Sound
Great video, well explained, you were lucky! As for mine, they suddenly broke down, although the day before they were working fine, I have no knowledge of electronics but I don't want to throw them away because as you said the sound is of very good quality.
Good video! Shows how it is feasible to build an honest speaker with little money... The recipe is simple, good quality components, a neat project and a manufacturing attentive to details.
Thank you :)
Good choice to get them. Surprise and lucky. good sound.
Thanks for the video. Mine are dead, no sound and no led lighting at power on. I'm about to replace the amplifier chip, hope to see them work again !
Good luck with the repair! If not even the power LED lights up it seems more likely that there is something wrong with the power supply...
What a lucky found 😆
Makes a pretty good speakers with 2 line-ins, one via RCA phonos and one via singular stereo jacks!
The feature I like a lot is the headphone output :)
Nice speakers! The woofers look a bit like my Creative T20
Nice score…a pair of speaker of the same kind/level would cost about 120€ on Amazon!
Thanks for the videos! I have these speakers and the volume from the active seaker is very low, while the passive speaker is perfect. I can't see any obvious fault on the circuit board or wiring. I tested with a 9v battery and the woofer moves so I'm wondering what to try next! It would be a real shame to lose them as they do sound great!
There could be something wrong with the amplifier... Try to connect the active speaker to the output for the passive speaker and see if it works again
Nice find! Might be interesting to experiment with damping material to see if you gain some slight improvement. I liked the demo music, what was the tune?
It would indeed be interesting to experiment with damping material, but I can't see any way of getting into the passive speaker without risking to damage it...

@@DrCassette id have to do it for fun before / after comparison. It would most likely improve bass response and reduce cabinet resonsnce, if at all.
Hi mr cassettez
good video,
do you beleive that these speakers are suitable fot electric piano?
If your electric piano has a line output or a headphone output, these speakers should work well.
I would adjust the bass and volume on these speakers in this video if I were you just to see how well these speakers handle, how much bass they produce, how loud they get, and how much these speakers distort when you crank them up. I get it’s definitely hard to distinguish things such as sound quality through a video, but it’s still distinguishable for me. I get they’ll probably distort a lot at max volume with the bass up like most amplifiers, though.
There is no point driving them into clipping. I am not using them at high volumes, and there already is enough bass with the tone controls set to flat
@@DrCassette Oh, okay.
What is the music used for testing the speakers ? Its nice

Thanks for the reply 🙏 Is there any chance I can download the one you have for your vids ?
Hope the guy doesn't see this video.... 😁
Bonjour
Lorsque je connecte l'enceinte gauche elle grésille.
Quelle peut être la cause ?
Comment réparer ça ?
D'avance merci
Bonne journée
Arnaud
If you are lucky it is just a bad contact somewhere. But it could be a more serious problem, including a bad amplifier chip unfortunately.
I wonder what these have originally cost. Hercules is a videocard brand, not something I associate with pro audio. Weird that there’s no damping material in there, that stuff doesn’t cost much at all. I guess they’re good enough for multimedia uses, maybe not for proper monitoring.
Some quick research I did suggested that these speakers cost about 100€ around 10 years ago. I had never heard of Hercules before I saw these speakers, but according to a friend of mine Hercules products are good quality.
what is the song?

Song Name?
They sound horrible
That is your opinion - I think they sound pretty good. Certainly better than any other amplified speakers I have had before.
They sound good to me.
