    That was quick and brutal :)
    Orks on conceal might have survived longer, but with no reinforcements on turn two probably still fold ...

      @MiniatureGameMontage  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah conceal would have been a good thing. But you are correct, zero reinforcements was delaying the inevitable. 6 guys scaling the wall at once and unloading on them in turn 2.

      @@deabio Thanks! I appreciate it. Sometimes they don't go how I would like but it is what it is. I totally plan on going "into the dark." There just may be some Necrons waiting down there instead of Kroot. :D

  • @elderbasilisk1534

    that scenario seems really really brutal for the defender and it didn't help that the dark angels were perfectly set up to take advantage of it. had it been the other way around with dark angels defending, it might have been a little more even if only because the dark angels could probably have shot a couple unactivated orks off the board round 1 to make the odds a little more even and would have had some brutal overwatch to even it up further. But still, a brutal mission. it's really really hard to compete when you start out down half your kill team.

    • @MiniatureGameMontage
      @MiniatureGameMontage  Před 2 lety

      I agree. I got the Octarius stuff painted up, couldn't wait to play it, and then picked this scenario. I thought it would be pretty epic. But then everything whiffed, no reinforcements came in, etc. Very difficult for the Kommandos but they will be back!

    Not that it mattered, but it looks like the Kommados used Just A Scratch twice in the second turning point at 11:25. "Other than Command Re-roll, each player can use each Tactical Ploy no more than once per Turning Point. If a Tactical Ploy is not used during a Turning Point, it is only limited by the number of Command Points you have."

    I have 6 assault intercessors on sprue lying around, I want to paint them up to be death company and give them +1" move and rending. And with some green stuff I could make some grenades to turn one of them into the assault grenadier. Probably not the optimal way to play intercessors but it sounds cool and it'd be a pretty easy paint job, black and red with some gold

    I wouldn’t have even recorded this. That’s such a bull**** scenario. 11AP “team” vs. an 18 elite? Never mind the ammo checks. If I ever played Octarius I’d just be like, “Let’s just save time and aggravation here. You win. Next scenario.”
    Im not even playing and within 3minutes of the video I’m already pissed off. How does this crap pass play testing?

  • @TheKsalad
    @TheKsalad Před 2 lety

    I'm only a few minutes in and why would someone play Kommandos and not have them on conceal? I'm not sure if I missed something but the orks are also not keeping saves for being in cover and just taking damage that should have at least been negated once for cover

    • @MiniatureGameMontage
      @MiniatureGameMontage  Před 2 lety

      The Accurate Chapter Tactic strips cover if a critical is retained. Pretty brutal but yes they should have been on conceal. Sometimes we learn the hard way. :D

  • @Marlerc11
    @Marlerc11 Před 2 lety

    If the dakka boy has vantage, doesn't that negate the Intercessor's cover?

    • @MiniatureGameMontage
      @MiniatureGameMontage  Před 2 lety

      I don't believe it negates cover. I think it just treats a conceal order as engage. That's how we played it at least.

      Kommando player should have concealed on the Marine's approach, using the Silent attack of the Slasha Boy to do some chip damage, and maybe sacrifice a melee slot with the sniper to do some big damage on approach - wait for the marines to scale the wall, then fight them on a more even ground with the Kommando's respectable Melee skills + the superior numbers would let them basically be able to 2v1 each marine
