Just picked up a 1998 Chrome Yellow Cobra this week. Absolutely love these cars. Nice one!
I know this was posted over 8 years ago,but I hadn't seen it. That is or was a great looking and sounding Cobra. From a old Mustang addict and 1997 Cobra owner.
This 98 SVT Cobra and this video keeps gaining respect every single day. Beautiful, simple and strong car. Not like electronic trashes companies built these days.

My grandpa has a cherry red 98 cobra convertible with side exhausts and the low in torque is unbelievable must have one

nice sounding car..i just bought a 96 mystic cobra, previous 5.0 owner..and it came with flowmasters and i've had a ton of those set-ups...so i just installed this set-up...bassani longtubes, vrs o/r x-pipe and borla stingers..ill try and get videos up soon..sounds just like my buddys 04 cobra...

+Dillon Hughes 94/95 yes it was the 5.0 pushrod but with a different intake heads (gt40)and I believe cam. but in 96 Ford put in the mustang the 4.6 32v teksid motor. it awesome go look at the pics for the 4.6l 2v vs. the 4.6 4v somebody at ford decide to make it do the whole damn engine bay was full lol

I've had a few GT's across that bridge but getting a Chrome Yellow cobra across it soon. ;)
@Red1986GTStang ..The ' 96-'97 are basically the same. The '98 has a different fuel pump , computer , and of course the wheels are '95 Cobra R variations. The dash differs due to no clock pod in the middle of the dash top.

@Super98mustang I understand what you're saying, I live in maryland I know the rules, my sister is a cop. They're called HISTORIC tags and your car has to be 20 years+ for them, it allows you to not have to goto state emissions too. My car is a 92' 5.0 foxbody and another rule with the historic tags is only weekend driving, Once my car is outta the shop it will be driven mainly just to work and back...
Very nice Cobra... I am the owner of a 1996 GT, which has been a fun car - but have been shopping for a 1998 Cobra without much success. Any recommendations as to where to get a nice one? No convertibles, please, and black interior only.
Hands down the best mustang i have ever heard! id say this sounds better then snake bite and loud enuf by far. Trade ya my 95 with a 306 in it! haha I seen in another of ur videos that u got this car in indiana? were at? im 20 mins from louisville KY.

BigRiggerJ, what year is your mustang? If it is more than 15 years old you can get special tags like antique (i think). With them tags you can have loud exhaust and the cops will leave you alone

@eclipes0013XbxLive For the 00-04 GT absolutely. I have a 2000 GT and when I drove a friends V6 it was so slow by comparison. And the difference between the 99-04 GT and the 04-04 Cobra is SUBSTANTIAL. The 03-04 Cobra is an absolute animal. If you can get an 03-04 Cobra instead of a GT then DO IT. The 03-04 Cobra has 390hp/390 ft/lbs, while the GT only has 260hp/302 ft/lbs. If you can, absolutely go for the Cobra... unless you're 16 and it's your first car, in that case don't go beyond a GT.

where did you find bassani longtubes? i cant find them on their site. All i see for a 98 cobra is the mid length.

it seems fast and all but you say you pulled on a S/C mach 1? whats all done to your yours to make that? my 04 gt will take an all motor mach 1 and any non s/c'd cobra but with what you listed at the end i dont think it would pull a mach. a stock mach 1 for sure but not a boosted one.

I lived in mason at the time we had the car, it has long since been sold and tossed around to several new owners, Last time i saw it was 2012 in lebanon, was a really nice car back in the day of this video, doubt its like that now!!
No ive seen this car plenty of times. We have car shows up at the middle school once a year when we have perades. It looks just like that still but louder. I saw it in 2013.
