Alex making eye contact with the camera while stealthily easting croissant is gold.
Man, I just discovered this after a year of being a fan and I wish you'd bring it back.
This is genuinely the only podcast I enjoy and constantly listen to. I hope they start making new episodes for it someday (without taking these down)
Ellis and Jake: You can't say anything sexual related
Alex: "Poo"
I'm never one for podcasts, but their continued back and forth of just pure, authentic and really interesting conversations is the kind of thing that I like. I just really like listening to people talk about things that they like really.
i just imagine 2 ppl talking on a park bench and youre just there eavesdropping behind a bush
RIP WPE Podcast
They said they want to bring it back soon
@@jamesdowman2023how did that go?
@@Bigboibutter yes
@@Bigboibutter its back
After the news of the WPE podcast coming back I have binged all of these ones and have not been disappointed in the slightest, really looking forward to the weekly new podcasts 🤝
Okay... need a series of ellis talking about history. Precious!... history club?
This is brilliant, more pods like this guys, was so interesting
1:13:52 I thought it was Alex yawning at first...weird timing coincidence
Whats that mean?
I still, somewhere, have some old computer punch-cards. Bits of cardboard with holes punched in them (or not) to indicate a 0 or a 1. You'd put the cards into a reader slot and use a sequence of them to program the computer. All this was way before any kind of floppy disk or HDD of course. Crazy times.
I love to start my day with u guys just talking general stuff! I wish Cath well and keep up the good work guys! Ur the first vids watched when ever I open CZcams so you guys are great!
This is the most interesting podcast ive Heard like ever, keep this up. I like open random, proper (even how inaccurate it may be) info dumps like this.
Cool cosmology talk.
Basically: Pluto is not a planet because they've kept finding similar planetary bodies on the outskirts of Solar System for ages now - there's about at least a dozen known ones further than Pluto and they are all similar sizes to it or some even bigger.
And it's like "We're never going to run out of these at this point, let's just change the definition of "Planet" so we don't have to update our Kids Infographics every two months when we find a new one of these."
Also: the "Size of the Unobservable Universe" thing Ellis's been talking about only applies if the universe is curved.
Like imagine standing on a plains and looking at the horizon - there would be things _here on Earth_ that you can never see because they are bellow the curve of the horizon. You can estimate that curvature (and the size of the Earth) by how much of the thing you are looking at dissapears behind the horizon when you move it away far enough.
Same with the Universe, except a bit trickier. Basically based on the fact that we can't detect that curvature and the Observable Universe appears to be completely flat in every direction, then if the Universe _was_ actually curved, that curve would have to be tinier than what our current instruments can measure. And the number with Pluto and the lightbulb that Ellis cited is the lowest possible estimate from our current understanding.
Cool stuff!
I think it's cool anyway,
so
thanks for coming to my TED talk
Tell me what my planet is made of of Ernieee
Thank you so much for making this summary. A like from here and I hope other people will do the same😁.
Well, I've listened to all of your podcasts today. Very enjoyable to hear you guys actually explore topics you wouldn't normally be able to. I hope you bring it back soon. Cheers!
and to this day
jake still hasn't opened the contract for spotify.
Everyone: Croissant
Jake: Crassunt
Really enjoyed this format chaps. Informative and yet not afraid to admit when you didnt know something. Well done I shall be waiting for the next one hint hint. Also bring back Cath and her terrible wee drink
I enjoyed this
The final WPE podcast there's to watch. I really enjoyed all of them and I'm sad there won't be any new ones soon (I actually enjoyed this more than the gaming content 😅). But I fully respect your decision to quit and you are probably much better at prioritizing than I am.
Found you guys during the past few years. Would love if you guys ever got the podcast going again. I love your guys videos and would love to hear the banter in a podcast
R.I.P WPE Podcasts, you will be missed
I am german and i can tell you hearing how you try to pronounce german is hilarious XD btw episode five would be Folge Fünf in german
Actually we can make it to Pluto in a person's lifetime. If we say that we are using a fusion-based engine, like a direct-fusion drive, a trip to Pluto would only take about 4 years.
Hi, will you make more podcast episodes? They are very entertaining, continue your hard work
i would love more podcasts
This has been 9 months... More episodes please.
Covid m8
surprise, they're back
More Podcast please
More Podcasts please.

Nice German, guys! Sounds fairly good.
Hey when is the next pod cast due ?
That one episode of Big Bang theory,
Why is the hulk so strong, steroids.
Why does Batman only come out at night, scotch.
Ellis look up the Fermi paradox, it's a great paradox of how there isn't and isn't other life in the universe
What is my Paradox made out of Demonnn
Are there going to be anymore podcasts or are you just sticking to gaming streams and videos?
Epic
holy shit alex is skinnier than i'd thought he'd be
great now im not sleeping
Please bring this back
The tl;dr of the main point Ellis gets excruciatingly, infuriatingly wrong (and I am aware of the irony in anyone nerd-raging at _Ellis_ of all people) is that communism doesn't go revolution -> dictatorship (ie. One Single Guy) -> equality.
It goes revolution -> dictatorship _of the proletariat_ -> transitional period -> equality. The term "dictatorship of the proletariat" is deliberately chosen to acknowledge that a) we live under a dictatorship of capital currently, and b) a revolution is a Very Authoritarian Phenomenon in which one class violently imposes its will on another. The will of the people is to be free and equal. The DOTP and transitional period are necessary because ideology exists: you don't just give everyone the same salary and job's a good 'un. You maintain the material conditions of equality by as much violence as necessary while actively dismantling the ideas that legitimize a dictatorship of capital. _Then_ you get actual, permanent, self-perpetuating equality.
anyone else think ellis looks almost exactly like colin moriarty in this episode or is it just me?
the last faction of fallout 4 is the institute
Why do I want to attach a car battery to Ellis’ piercings?
When is the next podcast
What happen to this podcast they never made more
As an English person learning German, they're not doing too badly!
Where is the rest of Alex?
Holy mole did he VR play the sims 4 ?
Still going to ask, have you guys tried Godmode
Rainbow six: vegas 2
I am weapon: revival
?
still waiting for the next episode
Sad and slightly depressing,
…
Reminds me of Canada
And BTW yes, I live in Canada
Why are the podcasts over
i would like to say that i am pretty sure black hole already bend space time
Want more!
Danke für die einladung. Also its folge 5
I don’t catch the streams.. sorry😝, love their CZcams though, so hilarious, always a good time. Sometimes they appear(their faces) in them but never for long periods of time like this. Man, they really encapsulate their voices(is that weird?) and they are all cute boys too 😌
could you guys play ECO?
I think the most egregious thing I heard on here is "then there's no incentive to work." Bullshit.
People will work jobs. People want jobs. Jobs exist because of people. To say people won't work if things are made to be equal, fair, and ethical is based upon capitalist fear mongering to keep the poor poor and the rich getting richer. People will work any job there is as long as 1.) they are comfortable doing it, 2.) there is an actual need for it, and the most IMPORTANT part of it 3.) if they well feel like working that job simply because they can/want to/their choice.
People are inherent workers, because we are a social species that thrive off of community. People live because of communities. People have only been able to evolve to this extent BECAUSE of the need to not only further our species but to thrive amongst each other.
That's just basic human evolution.
Side note: For anyone curious enough to look into this further please seek out sources in: Sociology, Social-Psychology, and Anthropology.
Anthropology, will most likely be your best bet if you want to look on individual levels and not be too overwhelmed with vocab from hyper-specific professions. Yes, there will be some guaranteed but often they are written to be easier to read. Also, do keep in mind to find sources older than the 70's because that was when the change over from mostly white supremacist mindsets to what we understand now as modern day mindsets of "omg we were in the wrong, how can we make this right?" started to come into play. There are still writings today trying to fix errors from just a handful of years ago. So please try to keep your sources as updated as possible when reading. Enjoy!
Remember, don't stop educating yourself. You never know if what you've learned in the past is complete and total hogwash, or if there is a danger of the truth being wiped out. This is why we've evolved to being the top species by using critical thinking. ;P
Stay safe, healthy and happy
Ah you poor bastard
Kinda weird to talk about North Korea where you're describing the American Electoral College, like it's some terrible thing. But that's exactly what American voting is. And somehow it's awesome?
me hearing german *confusion* . I am german that is why I was confused
Am I the only one practically raging when they talked about space travel?
No one asked but I have 900+ hours on Saints row 3
Ich leabe dish
why does ellis speak (bad) german?
Bruh
Come on guys. Communism is a type government. Capitalism is an economic system. But yeah they are both, just like the US
Deutsche Sprache schwere Sprache 😂
besonders die gramatik
Wow I'm early!
Alex is one of those people where the voice doesn't match the face
they all don't match their voices honestly
Listening to y'all talk about communism is even more depressing than hearing you repeat a bunch of lukewarm [citation needed] takes on east Asian geopolitics.
Alex is like "as a theory it works". Bruh capitalism doesn't even work as a theory. "Bro trust me it's fine bro you just need infinite growth and new markets forever bro." ?????
I'm glad this is an old podcast. I'd really hate to think none of you grew out of this.
First to dislike
