1:42 Method 2: Use Safe Mode
2:09 Method 3: Use Time Machine Backup
    2:46 Method 4: Create a bootable installer
3:20 Method 5: Use Mac Internet Recovery
Learn about resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) and using Mac Safe Mode to identify and resolve boot issues. Explore Time Machine Backup, creating a bootable installer, and utilizing Internet Recovery for more advanced solutions.
    Method 1: Reset SMC
    1. Turn off the computer and unplug it completely.
    2. Plug it back. Press and hold the keys: Control, Shift, and Option along with the Power button for 10 seconds. Release all the buttons and restart. Now, your SMC has been reset.
    Method 2: Use Safe Mode
    1. Power off or restart your Mac. Then press and hold the Shift key immediately as your Mac starts up.
    2. Release the key when the login screen appears, then log in to macOS.
    3. It may need you to log in again. On either the first or second login window, the Safe Boot will appear in the upper-right corner of the window.
Method 3: Use Time Machine Backup
    1. Restart Mac and click on the Options tab during start-up. Connect your Time Machine, and it will boot in a while.
    2. Choose the Recovery Drive to boot Mac and click on Use Disk to update the system storage.
Method 4: Create a bootable installer
    1. Get to the Utility window by restarting your Mac and accessing the Options tab during start-up.
    2. Choose the Disk Utility mode and connect a bootable installer drive with the Mac.
    3. You have to select the drive from the pop-up list, and Mac will restart. Now you can repair Mac easily so that it can be used like before.
Method 5: Use Mac Internet Recovery
    1. Directly access the internet recovery mode by long-pressing the Option + Command + R during the restart. A globe icon will appear on the screen with a status bar.
    2. Connect to a network and follow the steps guided by the utility. When you finish the process, Mac repair will be done, and you will access it.

I have a 2018 Mac Mini i5. I dont have a mac keyboard, just a windows one. Mac was running fine. I chose to do the upgrade to Sonoma. Now all the machine does is show the LED on the front. Nothing else. No fans, no video, no chime. I tried your suggestion of reset SMC, but when I switch it back on, nothing happens, jst the LED comes on. I would be very grateful if you could help. It is as if it is in a permanent stand-by mode, but thats not possible as I have had the power cable disconnected for over 5 minutes at times.

Hi there, thank you for your question! Disconnect all peripherals from your Mac Mini, including the keyboard and mouse. Unplug the power cord from your Mac Mini and wait for at least 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and press the power button to turn on your Mac Mini. If your Mac Mini still doesn’t boot up, try resetting the NVRAM by holding down the Command + Option + P + R keys immediately after pressing the power button. Hold down the keys until you hear the startup chime twice. If resetting the NVRAM doesn’t work, try booting your Mac Mini in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key immediately after pressing the power button. Keep holding down the key until you see the Apple logo on the screen. If your Mac Mini boots up in Safe Mode, try running the First Aid tool in Disk Utility to check for any disk errors. If any errors are found, try repairing them. If none of the above steps work, you may need to take your Mac Mini to an authorized Apple service provider for further assistance.

@@RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware Many thanks for the reply. It is now sorted, but a totally strange one. The issue turned out to be the monitor. It is an NEC that runs 1600 x 900. This worked perfectly well with Monterey. But Sonoma wont work with it. Tried an Iiyama 32" monitor at 2560 x 1440 and it works fine. Even if I force the resolution to 1600 x 900 and reconnect my original monitor, it wont come on. But I've got a spare Dell 24" monitor that I will use instead. Thanks again.

Hi there, thank you for your question! Make sure your Mac can connect to the internet recovery server. You can try to use a different Wi-Fi network, or connect your Mac to your router with an Ethernet cable otherwise you might need to take it to the apple store for further assistance.

I've installed sonoma with opencore on my mbp 2015. When i press cmd+r while booting up, it boots internet recovery instead of recovery mode. I just need access to terminal in recovery mode. Do i really need to reintall macos? Is it opencore that causes this problem? Did anybody have the same problem and found the solution?

Hi there, thank you for your question! Sometimes NVRAM settings can cause boot issues. Resetting NVRAM might help you can also try to review your Opencore configuration files (especially config.plist) to ensure there are no conflicting settings related to recovery mode and make sure you’re not overriding the default recovery behavior.

      Here’s what worked for me:
You`ll need a pen drive with the installer of macOS. Plug it in your MacBook.
With your MacBook turned off, press command+esc+power. Then you wait for the screen that tells to open sonoma. Now you click space and then click in the shell option. Now write “exit”. Then click to install sonoma. Now it Will boot the recovery local mode,

A great video and clearly explained, thanks. But, there is one but, you explained how to boot into Recovery when the key combination fails. But than you. advise to do a repair or reinstall from the Recovery mode which you reached by holding down Cmd and R-key. But this was what it is all about, I can't boot into local recovery. A reinstallation did not help. Cmd + R gives a black screen all other key combinations bring me to Internet Recovery. What I am after is why did it stop booting into local Recovery and how to repair that.

Hi there, thank you for your question! It sounds like your local recovery partition might be corrupted or missing, which prevents you from booting into it with Cmd + R. If you tried all the steps in the video I would recommend taking it to a professional for further assistance.

Good video. I’ve tried the various options. I’m not getting anywhere though. It boots to logo / loading bar then after a long wait the select language menu appears. After that, the Utilities menu. There is no backup so forget that. I’ve done the erase the disk thing. Then I try Reinstall macOS. Hit continue for macOS Sierra. Message appears saying “To download and restore macOS the eligibility will be verified etc”. Then nothing. Nothing changes on screen at all. When I click the wifi in the top right, all I get is Turn Wi-Fi On. Ethernet is also plugged in but I have no idea if it knows it’s connected. But again nothing happens. I do have sierra on a usb in the back of the Mac which I cant get to appear to boot from and I’m also using a windows keyboard. Help 😅

What if it has the folder with question mark?

    • @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware
      @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware  Před 5 měsíci

Hi there, thank you for your question! If you see a folder with a question mark on your Mac, it means that your startup disk is no longer available or doesn’t contain a working Mac operating system. To fix this issue, you can try the following steps: Turn off your Mac by pressing and holding the power button for up to 10 seconds . Start up from macOS Recovery by pressing the power button to turn on your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Command (⌘) and R keys until you see an Apple logo or other image. Use Disk Utility to repair your startup disk by selecting Disk Utility from the list in macOS Recovery, then clicking Continue and following the steps to repair your startup disk with Disk Utility.

Only your first solution helped a bit but using the SMC start failed to get my old mac mini 2012 into Recovery mode. Then all your other solutions started with going into Recovery Mode which is the thing mine won't do. I'm trying to Factory Reset the mac to give it to someone else. It's currently running Catalina and was working fine until I tried to factory reset. It's completely frustrating. I feel as if I've run out of options.

I do not have a recovery mode on my Macbook Pro that ran El Capitan i erased the upper level HD and recovery section using disc utility by mistake. I have a flashing folder and every CZcams video and everything I know and even the Mac store cannot get an OS on this MacBook the apple store told me to go to Amazon buy a new hard drive and try again.. they stated my mac book is too old for them to offer support to. I am going to say right now that I do not think your video will help as none has so far. I have spent thousands of hours trying everything to no avail... do I have a paperweight or can you help... there is no internet recovery except a flashing folder there is no option command r there is no shift option command r there is nothing but a flashing folder... I can operate Chrome Flex on it from USB but it won't install on to hard drive as there is no HD to see i have tried external HD but nothing works and Chrome Flex won't install on an external it needs to see an internal HD and then I don't know if it will work.... I need help

Hi there, thank you for your question! IT sounds like it is unlikely that you'll be able to solve the issue if apple wasn't able to assist you have you tried resetting the NVRAM you can do this by turning off your Mac, then turn it on and immediately press and hold the Command, Option, P, and R keys for about 20 seconds. You may hear the startup sound or see the Apple logo more than once. Then release the keys and see if your Mac boots normally.
